Description
【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、椎間板を除去した後に、椎体の間に挿入配置される椎間スペーサーに係り、さらに詳細には、椎間への挿入が容易であり、かつ椎体の終板とほぼ全面的に接触し得る椎間スペーサーに関する。

上記特許文献1に係る椎間スペーサー100は、図3(A)に示すように、後端側101よりも先端側103の方が厚くなるように形成してあり、傾斜した上下の面105U,105Lは平面に形成してある。そして、上下の傾斜平面105U,105Lには、錐体形状の複数の突起物107が設けられている。

上記構成の椎間スペーサー100は、図3(B),(C)に示すように、椎間板を除去した後の椎体109A,109Bの間に後方から挿入配置されるものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前述のごとき従来の構成においては、上下両面に突起物107を備えたことにより、抜け止め効果が向上するものの、後端側101よりも先端側103が厚肉であることにより、上下の椎体109A,109Bの間に挿入するとき、挿入が容易でないと共に、上下の面105U,105Lが傾斜した平面に形成してあることにより、上下の椎体109A,109Bの終板と上記傾斜平面105U,105Lとが全体的に面接触することがなく、接触面積が少ないので浮きを生じ易く、ぐらつき等の不安定性が残るという問題がある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は前述のごとき問題に鑑みてなされたもので、脊椎の椎体間に挿入配置される椎間スペーサーにおいて、スペーサー本体(3)の先端側の間隔よりも後端側の間隔が狭くなるように傾斜した仮想の傾斜面又は互いに平行な仮想の平面(19A,19B)に沿って上下両面(5,7)の全面に抜け止め防止用の複数の爪状部(17)の基部側を配置して備え、各爪状部(17)の頂角の部分は前後の中間部に頂部が位置する凸形の弧状の曲面(21A,21B)に沿って配置した構成であって、前記仮想の傾斜面又は仮想の平面(19A,19B)と前記曲面(21A,21B)とが先端側で交差した付近から突出した先端部(9)を、最先端部側が次第に小さくなる球面状の先細の曲面に形成して設け、前記仮想の傾斜面又は仮想の平面(19A,19B)と前記曲面(21A,21B)とが後端側で交差した付近を後端面に形成してあることを特徴とするものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面を用いて本発明の実施の形態について説明するに、前述した従来の構成と同一機能を奏する構成部分には同一符号を付して説明することとする。

図1を参照するに、本発明の第1の実施形態に係る椎間スペーサー1は、椎間板を除去した後の椎体の間に挿入配置して使用されるもので、スペーサー本体3の上面5及び下面7は、先端部9と後端部11との間の中間部分に頂部13が位置するように凸形の弧状に湾曲してある。

より詳細には、前記スペーサー本体3の前記先端部9は、例えば球面等のごとく最先端部側が次第に小さくなるように先細の曲面に形成してあり、後端部11には、椎間板を除去した後の椎体の間へスペーサー本体3を挿入する際に使用する例えば鉗子等のごとき適宜の工具が係合する工具係合部15が形成してある。

そして、前記スペーサー本体3の上面5及び下面7には、複数の抜け止め防止用の爪状部(抜け止め防止部)17が形成してある。上記抜け止め防止部(爪状部)17は、断面形状は三角形状を呈するものであって、その形状は、椎間板を除去した後の椎体間に先端部9から挿入するときには容易に挿入でき、引き抜く際には抜け難いように、挿入方向の傾斜角は小さく引き抜く方向の傾斜角は大きな三角形状に形成してある。

前記スペーサー本体3は、先端側の間隔よりも後端側の間隔が狭くなるように傾斜した仮想の傾斜面19A,19Bに沿って上下両面5,7の前記爪状部17の基部側を配置し、前記爪状部17の稜(頂角の部分)は、前後の中間部に頂部が位置する凸形の弧状の曲面21A,21Bに沿って配置した構成であって、前記傾斜面19A,19Bと曲面21A,21Bとが先端側で交差した付近から先細の曲面を呈する前記先端部9が突出した態様であり、後端側で前記傾斜面19A,19Bと曲面21A,21Bとが交差した付近が後端面に形成してある。

前記構成において、前述した従来技術と同様に、椎間板を除去した後の椎体の間に後側から、スペーサー本体3の先端部9を挿入するとき、上記先端部9は先細の曲面に形成してあるので、また前記スペーサー本体3の上下両面5,7に形成した爪状部17は挿入し易く引き抜き難い形状に形成してあるから、前記椎体間へのスペーサー本体3の挿入を容易に行うことができる。

そして、挿入後においては、スペーサー本体3を間にした上下の椎体はインプラント等(図示省略)によって互いに動かないように固定されるものである。この際、スペーサー本体3における上下の複数の爪状部17は上下の椎体に喰い込む態様となり抜け止め効果を奏すると共に、前記複数の爪状部17の稜は、頂部が前後の中間部に位置する凸形の弧状の曲面21A,21Bに沿って形成してあるので、上下の椎体の終板とほぼ全体的に面接触することとなり、ぐらつき等の不安定性を解消することができ、前述したごとき従来の問題を解消し得るものである。

図2は本発明の第2の実施形態を示すもので、前述した第1の実施の形態に示した構成部分と同一機能を奏する部分には同一符号を付することとして重複した説明は省略する。

この第2の実施の形態において、前記第1の実施の形態と相違する部分は、仮想の前記傾斜面19A,19Bを互いに平行な平面に形成した点であり、その他の構成は前述と同様である。

この第2の実施形態においても、前述した第1の実施形態と同様の効果を奏し得るものである。

【発明の効果】
以上のごとき説明より理解されるように、本発明によれば、椎間板を除去した後の椎体の間にスペーサー本体を挿入配置するとき、挿入が容易であると共に、挿入後に抜け難いものであり、かつ挿入後においては上下の椎体とほぼ全体的に面接触し、ぐらつき等の不安定性を解消することができ、前述したごとき従来の問題を解消し得るものである。

Claims (1)
- 脊椎の椎体間に挿入配置される椎間スペーサーにおいて、スペーサー本体(3)の先端側の間隔よりも後端側の間隔が狭くなるように傾斜した仮想の傾斜面又は互いに平行な仮想の平面(19A,19B)に沿って上下両面(5,7)の全面に抜け止め防止用の複数の爪状部(17)の基部側を配置して備え、各爪状部(17)の頂角の部分は前後の中間部に頂部が位置する凸形の弧状の曲面(21A,21B)に沿って配置した構成であって、前記仮想の傾斜面又は仮想の平面(19A,19B)と前記曲面(21A,21B)とが先端側で交差した付近から突出した先端部(9)を、最先端部側が次第に小さくなる球面状の先細の曲面に形成して設け、前記仮想の傾斜面又は仮想の平面(19A,19B)と前記曲面(21A,21B)とが後端側で交差した付近を後端面に形成してあることを特徴とする椎間スペーサー。
