Description
Claims (15)
- 送信機のシンボルクロックと受信機のローカルなシンボルクロックとの間のタイミング同期を確立して、シンボルのシーケンスとしてシンボル周波数で送信され、シンボル周波数オフセットが生じやすい信号を受信する方法であって、
予め選択された数の、中心オフセット値について実質的に対称的にグループ化されたオフセット値を、所望のシンボルタイミング再生範囲について算出するステップと、
シンボルタイミング再生ロックが実現できるか調べるために、前記中心オフセット値から開始して、前記中心オフセット値から徐々に遠ざかりながら、前記予め選択されたオフセット値の各々をテストするステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記受信信号は、デジタル画像データを表す、シンボルの1次元のデータコンステレーションとしてフォーマットされた変調残留側波帯(VSB)信号として送信される高品位テレビジョン(HDTV)信号を含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記所望のシンボルタイミング再生範囲は±1kHzであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項3記載の方法であって、前記オフセット値の予め選択された数は9であることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項4記載の方法であって、前記9つのオフセット値は、0Hz、±200Hz、±400Hz、±600Hz、±800Hzであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法であって、前記テストステップを複数のシンボルタイミング再生アルゴリズムの各々について繰り返すステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項6記載の方法であって、前記複数のシンボルタイミング再生アルゴリズムは、ミューラー・ミューラーアルゴリズム(Muller and Muller algorithm)とガードナーアルゴリズム(Gardner algorithm)とを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 送信機のシンボルクロックと受信機のローカルなシンボルクロックとの間のタイミング同期を確立して、シンボルのシーケンスとしてシンボル周波数で送信され、シンボル周波数オフセットが生じやすい信号を受信するプロセッサであって、
予め選択された数の、中心オフセット値について実質的に対称的にグループ化されたオフセット値を、所望のシンボルタイミング再生範囲について算出する手段と、
シンボルタイミング再生ロックが実現できるか調べるために、前記中心オフセット値から開始して、前記中心オフセット値から徐々に遠ざかりながら、前記予め選択されたオフセット値の各々をテストする手段と
を有することを特徴とするプロセッサ。 - 請求項8記載のプロセッサであって、前記受信信号は、デジタル画像データを表す、シンボルの1次元のデータコンステレーションとして送信される高品位テレビジョン(HDTV)信号を含むことを特徴とするプロセッサ。
- 請求項8記載のプロセッサであって、前記所望のシンボルタイミング再生範囲は±1KHzであることを特徴とするプロセッサ。
- 請求項10記載のプロセッサであって、前記オフセット値の予め選択された数は9であることを特徴とするプロセッサ。
- 請求項11記載のプロセッサであって、前記9つのオフセット値は、0Hz、±200Hz、±400Hz、±600Hz、±800Hzであることを特徴とするプロセッサ。
- 請求項12記載のプロセッサであって、
前記テスト用に複数のシンボルタイミング検出アルゴリズムを用いる手段と、
STRロックの可能性を最大化するために前記複数のアルゴリズムを所望通りに切り換える手段と
をさらに有することを特徴とするプロセッサ。 - 請求項13記載のプロセッサであって、前記切り換え手段は、前記予め選択されたオフセット値のそれぞれをテストする前に、前記複数の検出アルゴリズムの1つを選択する手段を有することを特徴とするプロセッサ。
- 請求項13記載のプロセッサであって、前記複数のタイミング検出アルゴリズムは、ミューラー・ミューラーアルゴリズムとガードナーアルゴリズムとを含むことを特徴とするプロセッサ。
