Claims (5)
- 複数のゲーム機とゲームサーバとがデータの送受信可能に設けられ、前記複数のゲーム機間において、前記各ゲーム機を操作するプレイヤとして、前記プレイヤに対応付けられたキャラクタの画像が登場するゲームが行われ、前記ゲームサーバによって前記ゲームの進行が制御され、
前記ゲーム機は、
自機が設置された場所の環境に関する環境情報を示す自機環境情報を含む自機情報を記憶する自機情報記憶手段と、
自機を操作するプレイヤが前記ゲームに参加する際に、前記自機を操作するプレイヤに関する情報と前記自機環境情報とを含ませた参加通知を、前記ゲームサーバへ送信する参加通知手段とを有し、
前記ゲームサーバは、
各種環境情報と、各環境情報に応じて用意された環境キャラクタに関する情報を記憶するキャラクタ情報記憶手段と、
前記キャラクタ情報記憶手段を参照して、前記受信した参加通知に含まれる前記自機環境情報が示す環境情報に対応付けられた環境キャラクタを選択し、前記選択された環境キャラクタを仮想プレイヤのキャラクタとして設定する仮想プレイヤ設定手段と、
前記仮想プレイヤのキャラクタとして設定された前記環境キャラクタの画像を前記ゲームに登場させ、前記ゲーム中における前記環境キャラクタの動作内容を所定の情報に基づいて決定する仮想操作決定手段とを有するゲームシステムであって、
前記複数のゲーム機のそれぞれと、環境情報を得るための状況が観測される複数の観測地のうち前記ゲーム機から最も近い観測地と、その観測地の環境情報とが対応付けられたサーバ環境情報を記憶するサーバ環境情報記憶手段と、
前記各観測地における環境情報が提供される所定の観測情報データベースから、所定のタイミングで前記各観測地における環境情報を取得して、前記サーバ環境情報を更新する環境情報更新手段とを有する環境サーバとが更に備えられ、
前記ゲーム機は、所定のタイミングで、前記サーバ環境情報から自機に対応付けられた環境情報を取得して、前記環境情報における前記自機環境情報を更新する自機環境情報更新手段を有する、ことを特徴とするゲームシステム。 - 前記複数のゲーム機間で行われるゲームは、所定数又は所定数以上のプレイヤを必要とするゲームであり、
前記仮想プレイヤ設定手段は、前記ゲーム機から受信した前記参加通知の数が前記所定数に足りない場合に、前記環境キャラクタを前記仮想プレイヤのキャラクタとして設定することにより、少なくとも前記所定数のプレイヤを揃える、ことを特徴とした請求項1に記載のゲームシステム。 - 前記キャラクタ情報記憶手段における環境情報には、前記観測情報データベースにおける環境情報が示す情報のうち特定の環境情報が設定されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のゲームシステム。
- 前記仮想プレイヤ設定手段は、前記選択された環境キャラクタが、更に所定の条件を満たす場合に、前記選択された環境キャラクタを前記仮想プレイヤのキャラクタとして設定する、ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のゲームシステム。
- 前記ゲーム機は、前記ゲームサーバとして機能するゲームマスター部と、
所定の場合に自機を前記ゲームサーバとして機能させるために、前記ゲームマスター部を起動するマスター起動手段とを有し、
前記仮想プレイヤ設定手段は、自機の前記自機環境情報又は前記受信した参加通知に含まれる前記自機環境情報のいずれかが示す環境情報に対応付けられた前記環境キャラクタを選択する、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のゲームシステム。
