Description
こうした臭気は、おむつまたはパッドのコア中に存在する場合に液相中の臭気を除くように見える特定の金属酸化物及び特定のゼオライトである粒子材料によって除去できることが見い出された。
本発明のパルプ製品は、書簡、書籍、雑誌または同様の紙用の製品と明確に区別される。こうしたものは通常、比較的に高度にリファイニングされてウェブ強度が発達し、通常坪量約100g/m2未満を有する。幾つかの特殊紙の例えば表紙の用紙はかなりより高い坪量を有することがある。良好な強度は不可欠である。紙を通常サイジングして、インキホールドアウト及び他の印刷特性を改良する。本発明の製品はサイジングされておらず、紙に不可欠であると考えられる強度特性の例えば引張強さ、破裂強さ、及び引裂強さは一般にはるかにより低い。
1タイプのおむつ構成の2つの2.5gの試料を75mlのジャー中に入れ、0.1Mシステインを含む合成尿またはシステインの単純な0.1M溶液の40mlで飽和させた。この手順を、第2のタイプのおむつ構成の2.5gの試料で繰り返した。ジャーを密閉し(ゴムセプタムで蓋をした)、暗オーブン中で4〜6時間インキュベートした。冷却後、ヘッドスペースガスの0.5mlの試料を気密シリンジを使用してジャーから引き出し、炎光光度検出器(FPD)を有するガスクロマトグラフ(GC)中に注入した。硫化水素を定性的に検出し、ppm単位で報告した。結果を表1に報告する。こうしたH2Sレベルは、高システイン濃度でのこの試験におけるシステイン自体からのバックグラウンドH2Sの生成を表す。
実施例1の場合の手順を繰り返したが、この場合には、多数の黄色ブドウ球菌、大腸菌及びカンディディア・アルビカンス(Candidia albicans)を含む0.1mlの細菌スラリーを接種済みで0.1Mシステインを含む合成尿のみを使用した。試験は様々なpHレベルで実行した。結果を表2に報告する。
実施例3
この実施例は、残りの実施例において使用するシステイン試験溶液及び試験手順を説明する。
実験室での便宜上、土壌を使用して、生物、従って酵素を容易に供給する源を提供し、そのようなものとして、ヒトの皮膚表面に見い出される条件の大まかな複製を提供した。

これはシステイン試験を説明する。
実施例5
実施例4を繰り返し、ただし実施例3のシステイン/PSP/Tris−EDTA溶液を加える前に、0.125gの酸化亜鉛(J.T.べーカー、Inc.製のZnO、べーカー・アナライズド(登録商標)A.C.S.試薬、製品#4358−01(ZnO, Baker Analyzed(登録商標) A. C. S. reagent, Product # 4358-01 from J. T. Baker, Inc.))を有機質土壌に加えた。再度、混合物を実施例3の条件下で処理し、実施例3の手順によってH2Sレベルを百万分率(PPM)単位で測定した。
実施例6
0.139gの到着したままの歩留まり向上剤であるナルコ 7194+を500mlのプラスチックねじ蓋付き容器中に入れた。13.8gの水を加え、混合物を15分間振とうした。さらに125.1gの水を歩留まり向上剤溶液に加え、混合物をさらに15分間振とうした。これを次に使用前に5分間放置した。
クレイスラリーを再度撹拌し、1リットルビーカー中に注いだ。500mlの水を加えた。0.45gの酸化亜鉛(J.T.べーカー、Inc.製のZnO、べーカー・アナライズド(登録商標)A.C.S.試薬、製品#4358−01)もまた加えた。混合物を30秒間撹拌した。
得られた混合物を、水を用いて全体積30リットルで正方形(12インチ×12インチ)の手すき紙用型枠中に注ぎ、手すき紙を金網スクリーン上に形成した。形成されたシートを、吸い取り紙を用いてクーチに移し、実験室用フェルト状脱水プレスにかけて厚さ1.3mmにし、電気加熱式平形手すき紙乾燥機上で15分間各面を乾燥して恒量にした。
別の試験において、歩留まり向上剤を用いてパルプ繊維に接着したクレイ−酸化亜鉛混合物は、硫化水素を平均6.1PPMから平均0.38PPMに低減した。107.25gのドライパルプにつき6.6gのクレイ及び0.66gのZnOが存在した。クレイは、J.M ヒューバー・コーポレーション製のハイドラファイン−90であり、酸化亜鉛は、J.T.べーカー、Inc.製のZnO、べーカー・アナライズド(登録商標)A.C.S.試薬、製品#4358−01だった。
パルプシートの形成の前に、上記に説明した歩留まり向上剤を使用して、こうした材料をパルプ繊維に付着させる。上述の金属酸化物及びゼオライトを鉱物填料と組み合わせることができ、歩留まり向上剤を用いて混合物をパルプ繊維に付着させることができる。
Claims (15)
- 陽イオン性歩留まり向上剤によって付着した粒子材料を有するパルプ繊維であって、該粒子材料は該パルプ繊維を囲繞する環境中に存在する硫化水素の量を低減することができ、前記粒子材料は前記パルプ繊維の絶乾重量の0.005重量%〜1重量%の範囲にわたる量で存在し、前記歩留まり向上剤が電荷調節剤である、パルプ繊維。
- 前記粒子材料は、酸化亜鉛、酸化カルシウム、酸化第二銅、酸化マグネシウム、二酸化マンガン、酸化マンガン及び酸化アルミニウムからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記粒子材料はゼオライトである、請求項1に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記繊維はパルプシートの形態で存在する、請求項1に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記パルプシートはウェットレイドされる、請求項4に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記パルプシートは坪量少なくとも250g/m2を有する、請求項5に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記繊維は吸収性製品中に存在する、請求項1に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 陽イオン性歩留まり向上剤によってパルプ繊維に付着した粒子材料及び填料材料を有する該パルプ繊維であって、該粒子材料は前記パルプ繊維を囲繞する環境中に存在する硫化水素の量を低減することができ、前記粒子材料及び前記填料は異なり、前記歩留まり向上剤が電荷調節剤である、パルプ繊維。
- 前記填料材料は前記繊維の絶乾重量の1〜20重量%の量存在する、請求項8に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記粒子材料は前記填料材料の重量の0.5〜50重量%の量存在する、請求項9に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記繊維はパルプシートの形態で存在する、請求項8に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記パルプシートはウェットレイドされる、請求項11に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記パルプシートは坪量少なくとも250g/m2を有する、請求項12に記載のパルプ繊維。
- 前記繊維は吸収性製品中に存在する、請求項8に記載のパルプ繊維。
- ウェットレイドセルロースパルプ製品の製造方法であって、
セルロース繊維を希薄な水性懸濁液中でスラリーにすること、ここで、このセルロース繊維は表面を有し、陽イオン性歩留まり向上剤によって、填料材料、粒子材料及びセルロースの合わせた重量を基準として少なくとも1%の微細に分割した非セルロース系填料材料とパルプ繊維を囲繞する材料中に存在する硫化水素の量を低減することができる粒子材料とで前記繊維表面がコーティングされる、ここで、前記歩留まり向上剤が電荷調節剤である、と、
前記繊維をシートへと形成することと、
該シートを乾燥することと、
を含む方法。
