【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前記のように胴部材前面に設けた広幅の前面パネルは、胴部材の前面開放部を閉塞する機能のほかに、透明部分を通して水位管を見通せるようになっており、またその表面が広いことから、従来のように水位窓近辺のみをカバーするカバー部材に比べ、施し得るデザインの自由度が大きいメリットがある。デザインの自由度を高く維持するためには前記の前面パネルは通常合成樹脂の成形品が用いられる。

しかし、前記の構造では前面パネルの背後を支持する手段がないため、使用者が故意に又は不注意で指先で前方から押すと容易に変形することがあり、また、外部からの荷重を加えない場合であっても熱変形等の内部応力により変形し易い問題考えられる。また、その前面パネルの上端縁はノーズ部下面に突き当てられるだけであるので、突き当て部分にすき間が生じ易い問題がある。また、その前面パネルの前面にインサート成形等によって印刷シートを一体化する方法をとった場合、印刷シートの上端が外部に露出することがあり、デザイン的な観点から問題があるものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記の課題を解決するために、この発明は、ポットの胴部材前面に設けた水位管窓とその周囲の胴部材をカバーする範囲に化粧パネルを重ね、該化粧パネルを胴部材に結合一体化してなるポットの化粧パネル取付け構造において、前記化粧パネルは前記水位管窓の範囲を含み、かつポットの肩部材前部に設けたノーズ部の左右両端部までの幅又はその両端部を越える幅を有し、前記化粧パネルの背面は前記水位管窓の部分を除き前記胴部材に密着して結合一体化されている構成を採用した。

以下、この発明の実施の形態を添付図面に基づいて説明する。図1に示した電気ポットの本体1は、胴部材2とその上部に一体に設けられた肩部材3とからなり、肩部材3の後部に設けたヒンジ部4において蓋5が開閉自在かつ着脱可能に取付けられる。前記本体1の内部に内容器6が収納され、肩部材3の前部にノーズ部7が設けられる。ノーズ部7の上面に操作パネル8が取付けられるとともに、その下面にアンダーカバー9が取付けられ、そのアンダーカバー9に吐出口10が設けられる。
