【従来の技術】
電縫管等の溶接部のビード部を含む加工に用いるスローアウェイ式工具、特に、被削材の被切削面の形状が凹凸状となっている部分の加工に用いる工具には、その食付き時の不安定さにより、欠け、欠損が生じやすい。パイプの端面加工の例としては、例えば、特開2001−322002号公報には、カイサキ面取り装置において、前記刃物台に着脱自在に配設される前記バイトホルダに、前記鋼管の外端部をカイサキ面取り加工する外面チップおよび該鋼管の内端部をカイサキ面取り加工する内面チップを夫々着脱交換自在に装着した例がある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、電縫管の溶接部のビード部を含む端面の総型加工を刃先交換式工具で行う場合、切れ刃の損傷を受ける部分は、ビード部を加工する部位で生じる確率が高くなる等の課題がある。本発明は、総型加工の対応する被切削面の状態に対応して切れ刃部分に刃先強度の強い刃先交換式インサートを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、電縫管の溶接ビード部を含む端面の総型加工に用いる刃先交換式スローアウェイインサートにおいて、該インサートは4角形板状の3コーナー部はそのまま、他の1コーナー部に略1/4円状の円弧傾斜側面とこれに角度α及び角度βで連なる直線状傾斜側面とを設け、これらとインサート上面とが交叉して形成される切れ刃部にネガホーニングを施し、角度αで連なる直線状切れ刃部に、該円弧状切れ刃部から遠ざかるに従いホーニングを拡げるように設けたことを特徴とするスローアウェイインサートである。

【発明の実施の形態】
発明の実施の形態を添付図面を参照して説明する。添付図面は本発明に係るインサートの実施の形態を示す。図1に示す本発明例のスローアウェイインサート1は、4角形板状の3コーナー部はそのまま生かし、他の1コーナー部に総型の形状である略1/4円状の円弧傾斜側面とこれに角度α及び角度βで連なる直線状傾斜側面とを設けている。工具としてセットされた時には、パイプの端面の総型加工を行う際に、略1/4円状の円弧状部がパイプ外径側のR面取りとなり、パイプの外径部の加工に角度αの直線状切れ刃が、パイプ端面側の加工に角度βの直線状切れ刃が各々対応する。

これらの円弧状及び直線状側面と上面2との交叉部が切れ刃3、4、5となり、切れ刃部3〜5には、ネガホーニングとして、幅:0.2〜0.30mm、角度:20〜30度、を行う。次に、角度αで連なる直線状切れ刃部3は、パイプの外径部を切削するため、該円弧状切れ刃部6から遠ざかるに従いホーニング幅を漸次拡く設ける。角度αで連なる直線状切れ刃部3のホーニング幅は、該円弧状側では一定で、ホーニング幅:0.15〜0.30mm、角度:20〜30度で、ネガホーニングを設ける。インサートの辺側、即ち、パイプの外径部を切削する切れ刃では、ネガホーニングの幅を漸次拡大し、ホーニング幅:0.2〜0.40、角度:20〜35度、で設け、ホーニング幅、角度のいずれか又は双方を拡げる。

上記ホーニング幅、角度を拡げる理由は、端面加工の初期では、円弧状切れ刃が実切削している程度であるが、。切削が進むにつれ、実切削している切れ刃が長くなり、角度βで連なる直線状切れ刃部5はパイプの径方向であるため定常的な負荷となるが、角度αで連なる直線状切れ刃部3は加工が進むにつれて切れ刃接触長さが長くなり、且つ、切れ刃部3とパイプ外径との接触位置では常にビード部分を切削している状態となる。次に、切れ刃5が定常的な切削になると、切削負荷も大きくなり、被切削面の形状の凹凸があるビード部で切削負荷の変動が大きくなり、切れ刃3のビード部を切削している切れ刃のチッピング、欠けが発生しやすくなる。更に、円弧状切れ刃4、角度βで連なる直線状切れ刃部5のホーニング幅は定常的な切削負荷となるので、ホーニングは幅、角度とも、切削抵抗を増やさないように小さく設け、角度αで連なる直線状切れ刃部3は、溶接ビード部を常時切削する部位、特に、実切削している切れ刃が長くなった際に、溶接ビードを切削する切れ刃部はホーニング幅を広げることにより、切れ刃のチッピング、欠けを防止できることとなる。従って、ホーニング幅を広げる直線状切れ刃部の長さ6は、角度αで連なる直線状切れ刃部全体の長さの1/2〜1/4の長程度設けることにより、チッピング等が防止できるインサートとなる。

図1に示すインサートは、超硬合金JIS、K10相当材種で製作し、TiAlN膜を被覆して用いた。電縫管端面の総型加工を、パイプ外径部の一部にはビードを付いている状態で切削試験を実施した。また、比較例として、切れ刃3のホーニングを一定とした例も試験した。電縫管端面の総型加工を行い、本発明例では、パイプの外径部を切削する角度αで連なる直線状切れ刃部3に損傷がなく、切れ刃の欠け、チッピングが減少し、寿命が長くなり、切削面の面粗度が所定に維持されいていた。また、比較例では、角度αで連なる直線状切れ刃部3のホーニング幅を広げていないため、チッピングが生じ、チッピング部より大きな欠けが発生し、寿命となった。

【発明の効果】
本発明を適用することにより、溶接ビード部を含むパイプ端面の総型加工に用いるインサートで、溶接ビード部を切削する切れ刃のホーニングを漸次拡げるように設けることにより、切削負荷を増大させることなく、切れ刃の欠け、チッピングが減少し、寿命を大幅に延すことが出来た。
