本発明は、ヘッドアップディスプレイの車両搭載構造に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
一般的に、車両用ヘッドアップディスプレイ(以下、HUDと称する。)はケーシング内に表示器および凹面鏡等を内蔵して構成されており、インストルメントパネルの裏面側に搭載されている。そして、表示器の出射面から出射された表示情報としての表示光が凹面鏡で反射されてフロントウインドシールド上に入射し、この入射光がフロントウインドシールドにより反射されることで表示情報が当該フロントウインドシールドによりその前方に虚像として表示される。

しかし、HUDの体格は比較的大きいので、インストルメントパネルの裏面側のスペースを大きく占有してしまう。特に近年では、スピードメータやウォーニング表示のみならず、ナビゲーション経路案内やナイトビジョン(暗視)をHUDで表示させるようになってきており、このようなHUDでは体格が非常に大きいものとなる。

上記目的を達成するため、請求項1に記載の発明では、車両の車室内にてフロントウインドシールド(1)の下方に位置するインストルメントパネル(2)の裏面側にて、表示情報を表す表示光を出射する表示器(33)と、表示器(33)からの表示光をフロントウインドシールド(1)の裏面に向けて反射する凹面鏡(35)とを備え、フロントウインドシールド(1)が凹面鏡(35)からの反射光を反射して表示情報を前方に虚像として表示するようにしたヘッドアップディスプレイ(30)の、車両搭載構造であって、表示器(33)および凹面鏡(35)を、インストルメントパネル(2)の裏面側にて空調風を流通させる空調ダクト(16)の内部に配置し、この空調ダクト(16)の内部に、表示器(33)の出射面(33c)を拭く第1ワイパ(36)と、凹面鏡(35)の反射面(35a)を拭く第2ワイパ(36)とを備えることを特徴とする。
