従来、特開平10−212808号、同10−110512号、同8−326257号公報に示されるように、手摺芯材にカバー部材を設けた手摺が知られている。これらの手摺によれば、手摺芯材の外周全体に合成樹脂からなる手摺用カバー部材を設けているので、金属がむき出しの手摺と比べて、掴んだ時に冷たく無く、手に馴染む適度なフィット感が得られ、滑り止めの効果を発揮するものである。

また、手摺芯材には図6(A)に示した断面形状を有するものがあるが、このような手摺芯材Tは下面に取付金具挿入用の溝部Mが開口形成されているため、手摺芯材の外側面全体を包囲する管状のカバー部材を被せることができないものである。
そこで、図6(B)に示したとおり、取付金具挿入用の溝部Mの縁にカバー部材Cの端部C1を係止して取付けたものがあるが、掴んだ時のフィット感を良くするために、軟質の合成樹脂によりカバー部材を形成すると、取付金具挿入用の溝部Mの縁と係合するカバー部材Cの端部C1の係止力が弱く、カバー部材Cを強固に手摺芯材Tに固定することができず、使用の際にカバー部材Cが回転したり、カバー部材Cが脱落する虞を有するものであった。

よって、従来のカバー部材は摩擦抵抗の小さい硬質の合成樹脂により形成されたものが殆どであり、掴んだ時の手に馴染む適度なフィット感と、滑り止めの効果はある程度犠牲にせざるを得ないものであった。

この発明の目的は、手摺への装着作業を容易なものとし、掴んだ時のフィット感が良く、滑り止め効果を発揮することのできる手摺用カバー部材を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明者等は、このような事情に鑑み鋭意検討を重ねた結果、手摺芯材の周囲を覆う樹脂製の手摺用カバー部材であって、該手摺用カバー部材は外側面にオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマーからなり且つ外側面下部に複数の突条を形成した滑り止め層を形成し、内側面にポリプロピレン樹脂からなる形状保持層を形成したことによって、所期の目的を達成したものである。

【作用】
この発明によれば、手摺用カバー部材を外側面のオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマーからなる滑り止め層と、内側面のポリプロピレン樹脂からなる形状保持層の2層構造としているので、外側面の軟質合成樹脂は掴んだ時のフィット感が良好であり、しかも外側面下部に複数の突条を形成しているので、滑り止めの効果を有するものである。
また、手摺と接触する内側面はポリプロピレン樹脂なので、手摺芯材との摩擦抵抗が小さく、手摺用カバー部材の端部から手摺芯材をスライドして挿入することが可能となるので、手摺用カバー部材の装着作業が容易に行えると共に、手摺芯材と手摺用カバー部材との係止力を高めることができるので、カバー部材が回転したり脱落することを防止できる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、発明の実施の形態を実施例に基づき説明する。
図1ないし5は本発明手摺用カバー部材の実施例であり、図中1は手摺を表わし、手摺1は施工場所に立設した支柱2の上端に取付けられている。手摺1は手摺芯材11と手摺用カバー部材12とから形成されており、手摺芯材11の下面に形成された取付金具挿入溝111に、支柱2の上端に設けた取付金具21を挿入して支柱2の上端に手摺芯材11が取付けられる。
