この発明は、たとえば装飾品・装身具・文房具・家庭用品・玩具などの製品の表面に、イオンプレーティングやスパッタリング技術を用い、装飾や表示あるいは趣味感を高める目的で多色の模様を形成する製品表面への多色模様形成法に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、この種の多色模様形成法としては、たとえば特開昭63−128166号公報、特開昭64−75660号公報、特開平2ー282467号公報に示されるように、まずはじめに有色被覆を施し、次いで残したい部分をマスキングしてから、溶剤に漬けて有色被覆の一部を取り除き、その後マスキング剤を除去したり、はじめにマスキングしてから、有色被覆を施し、その後マスキング剤を除去したりし、装飾品等の製品の表面に多色模様を形成していた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、このような従来の多色模様形成法では、

そこで、この発明の目的は、装飾品等の製品の表面に、コスト高となることなく、細かい多色模様を施すことができるようにすることにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
そのため、請求項1に記載の製品表面への多色模様形成法は、製品の表面に反射面を形成し、その反射面上にイオンプレーティングまたはスパッタリングにより第1透明膜をつくり、その第1透明膜にレーザーマーキングで書込みを行うことによりその書込みを行った部分の前記第1透明膜を除去して模様および文字の少なくとも一方を描き、その後前記書込みを行って前記第1透明膜を除去した部分は前記第1透明膜を介さずに前記反射面上に、その他の第1透明膜があるところはその第1透明膜を介して前記反射面上に再度イオンプレーティングまたはスパッタリングにより第2透明膜を形成してなる、ことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面を参照しつつ、この発明の実施の形態につき説明する。
請求項1に記載の製品表面への多色模様形成法では、たとえば図1に示すように、まずはじめにプラスチック製品10の表面に反射面10aを形成する。

次いで、図2に示すように、その反射面10a上にイオンプレーティングによりTiO2の第1透明膜11を膜厚b1でつくる。

それから、その第1透明膜11にレーザーマーキングで書込みを行うことにより、図3(A)に示すようにその書込みを行った部分イの第1透明膜11を除去して同図(B)に示すように「A」の文字を描く。

その後、第1透明膜11があるところはその第1透明膜11を介して反射面10a上に再度イオンプレーティングで、図4(A)および(B)に示すように同様にTiO2の第2透明膜12を今度は膜厚b2で形成する。

これにより、書込みを行った部分イは第2透明膜12の膜厚b2だけで成膜し、その他の部分は第1透明膜11の膜厚b1にその第2透明膜12の膜厚b2を加えた厚さb3で成膜する。

この結果、膜厚b2と膜厚b3の相違により反射面10aの反射で、書込みを行った「A」という文字の部分イとその他の部分とで干渉色が相違することとなり、異なる地の色から「A」という文字が浮き上がって見えることとなる。

書込みを行った部分イおよびその他の部分の色は、膜厚b1・b2を変えることにより適宜変更することができる。

図5ないし7には、請求項1に記載の発明の実施の他の形態を示す。図示多色模様形成法では、まずはじめにステンレス製品20の反射面20a上にスパッタリングによりSiCの第1透明膜21を膜厚b4でつくる。

それから、その第1透明膜21にレーザーマーキングで書込みを行うことにより、図6(A)に示すようにその書込みを行った部分ロの第1透明膜21を除去して同図(B)に示すように「ハートマーク」の模様を描く。

その後、第1透明膜21があるところはその第1透明膜21を介して反射面20a上に再度スパッタリングで、図7(A)および(B)に示すように同様にSiCの第2透明膜22を今度は膜厚b5で形成する。

これにより、書込みを行った部分ロは第2透明膜22の膜厚b5だけで成膜し、その他の部分は第1透明膜21の膜厚b4にその第2透明膜22の膜厚b5を加えた厚さb6で成膜する。

この結果、膜厚b5と膜厚b6の相違により反射面20aの反射で異なる干渉色を呈し、たとえば書込みを行った「ハートマーク」の模様の部分ロはピンクとなり、その他の部分はグリーンとなって、グリーンの地の色からピンクの「ハートマーク」の模様が浮き出して見えることとなる。

したがって、請求項1および2に記載の発明によれば、レーザーマーキングで書込みを行うから、従来のマスキング剤の塗布に比べはるかに精密に描くことができ、装飾品等の製品の表面に、コスト高となることなく、細かい多色模様を施すことができる。
