Claims (12)
- 第1及び第2帯域光信号を増幅するための広帯域光ファイバ増幅器において、
少なくとも単方向にポンピングされて前記第1及び第2帯域光信号を増幅し、増幅自然放出光(ASE)を発生する第1増幅部と、
少なくとも単方向にポンピングされて前記ASEを増幅する第2帯域ポンプ光源と、
該第2帯域ポンプ光源により増幅されたASEによりポンピングされ、前記第1増幅部により増幅された第2帯域光信号を2次増幅する第2増幅部と、を備えることを特徴とする広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。 - 第1増幅部による増幅後の第1帯域光信号及び第2増幅部による2次増幅後の第2帯域光信号が外部光ファイバに出力される請求項1記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。
- 第1及び第2帯域光信号は、C帯域及びL帯域光信号である請求項2記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。
- 第1増幅部は、少なくとも単方向にポンピングされる第1増幅光ファイバを有する請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。
- 第2増幅部は、第2帯域ポンプ光源により増幅されたASEによりポンピングされる第2増幅光ファイバを有する請求項4記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。
- 第2帯域ポンプ光源は、少なくとも単方向にポンピングされてASEを増幅する第3増幅光ファイバを有する請求項5記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。
- 第1増幅部は、
既定波長のポンプ光を出力するポンプ光源と、
前記ポンプ光を第1及び第2帯域光信号と共に第1増幅光ファイバに出力する波長選択結合器と、を有する請求項4記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。 - 第1増幅部は、第1増幅光ファイバから出力された第1及び第2帯域光信号は通過させ、その逆方向に進行する光は遮断する光アイソレーターをさらに有する請求項7記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。
- 第2帯域ポンプ光源は、
既定波長の第1ポンプ光を出力する第1ポンプ光源と、
前記第1ポンプ光を第3増幅光ファイバに出力する第1波長選択結合器と、
既定波長の第2ポンプ光を出力するための第2ポンプ光源と、
前記第2ポンプ光を前記第3増幅光ファイバに出力する第2波長選択結合器と、を有する請求項6記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。 - 第2帯域ポンプ光源は、第1増幅部から発生したASE中の既定波長帯域のみを透過させる可変フィルターをさらに有する請求項9記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。
- 第2増幅部は、
既定波長のポンプ光を出力するポンプ光源と、
前記ポンプ光を第2増幅光ファイバに出力する波長選択結合器と、を有する請求項5記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。 - 外部から受信した第1及び第2帯域光信号を第1増幅部に出力し、該第1増幅部から受信したASEを第2帯域ポンプ光源に出力する第1サーキュレータと、
前記第1増幅部から出力された増幅後の第1及び第2帯域光信号を分離して出力する第1波長選択結合器と、
前記第2帯域ポンプ光源から受信した増幅後のASEを第2増幅部に出力し、該第2増幅部から受信した2次増幅後の第2帯域光信号を別ポートに出力する第2サーキュレータと、
前記第1波長選択結合器から出力された増幅後の第1帯域光信号と前記第2サーキュレータから出力された2次増幅後の第2帯域光信号とを結合して出力する第2波長選択結合器と、を備える請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の広帯域光ファイバ増幅器。
