本発明は、壁面等の造営面に設けた埋込孔に配線器具を配設するための配線器具用プレートに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、図16〜図18に示すように壁面等の造営面Wに埋込ボックス(スイッチボックス)41を埋設し、コンセント等の配線器具Cが着脱自在に取り付けられるプレート枠A’をボックスねじ40によって埋込ボックス41に取り付け、さらにプレート枠A’の前面に化粧プレートB’を取着することで配線器具Cを壁等に見栄え良く埋込配設するようにした配線器具用プレートが提供されている。

プレート枠A’を構成するプレート枠本体1は、図16及び図17に示すように四隅にアールを付けた略矩形枠状の合成樹脂成型品からなり、その中央部にはコンセントやスイッチ等の配線器具Cの器体60の機能面(スイッチの操作体が設けられた面やコンセントの差込み口が設けられた面)を前面側へ露出させるために矩形の開口部2が設けてある。開口部2の下方に位置するプレート枠本体1の側片(以下、「下側片」と呼ぶ。)3bには配線器具Cの係止爪62の一方が挿入係止される係止溝50aを具備した撓み可能な撓み片50が設けられ、開口部2の上方に位置する側片(以下、「上側片」と呼ぶ。)3aには配線器具Cの他方の係止爪62が挿入係止される係止溝4が設けられている。

プレート枠本体1の下側片3bは、内側部位51と外側部位52とが隙間53を介して平行に一体に形成されていて、この両部位51,52の間の隙間53の奥端で両端を開口部2の左右両側に位置する両側片3c,3dと一体に連結して可撓性を有する上記撓み片50が形成してある。また外側部位52には長孔状の溝54が形成されており、溝54の内側の部分を薄肉とすることで撓み片50を横方向に撓み易くしている。

また、プレート枠本体1の開口部2を囲む4つの側片3a〜3dには各々凹所5が形成してあり、各凹所5にはプレート枠A’を埋込ボックス41に取り付けるためのボックスねじ40を挿通する長孔状のボックスねじ挿通孔6a〜6dが設けてある。すなわち、開口部2を挟んで対向する上下側片3a,3bあるいは左右側片3c,3dの凹所5に設けられたボックスねじ挿通孔6a〜6dに挿通したボックスねじ40を埋込ボックス41の舌片41aに形成されているねじ孔に螺合して締め付けることによってプレート枠A’を埋込ボックス41に取り付け、さらにプレート枠A’の前面に化粧プレートB’を取着することで配線器具Cを壁等に見栄え良く埋込配設することができる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところで上記従来例においては、プレート枠A’を埋込ボックスに取り付けるためにボックスねじ挿通孔6a〜6dに挿通したボックスねじ40を締め付けたとき、図18に示すように、そのボックスねじ挿通孔6a〜6dが設けられている上下側片3a,3b(あるいは左右側片3c,3d)が後方に反る形で変形し、ボックスねじ40の締め付けに起因したプレート枠A’の変形が係止溝4や撓み片50にまで及び、係止溝4と撓み片50の係止溝50aとの間隔が拡がって係止爪61と係止溝4,50aとの係止が外れ易くなる場合があった。そして、このような状況下で配線器具Cに斜め向きの力が加えられると、係止爪61と係止溝4,50aとの係止が外れて配線器具Cがプレート枠から脱落してしまう虞があった。特に配線器具Cがコンセントの場合には壁面の低い位置に施工されることが多いから、斜め上方からプラグ70が差し込まれ、上述のような斜め向きの力が加えられる可能性が高いものである(図18参照)。

本発明は上記事情に鑑みて為されたものであり、その目的は、ボックスねじを締め付けたときに係止爪との係止が外れないようにして配線器具の脱落を防止した配線器具用プレートを提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
請求項1の発明は、上記目的を達成するために、埋込型の配線器具の機能面を露出させる開口部を有するとともに開口部を挟んで対向する両部位に配線器具を取り付けるための取付手段を具備して造営面に設けられた埋込孔の開口面側を覆う合成樹脂製のプレート枠と、配線器具の機能面を露出させる開口窓を有するとともにプレート枠に取着されてプレート枠の前面を覆う化粧プレートとを備え、埋込孔内に配設される埋込ボックスにプレート枠を取り付けるためのボックスねじが挿通されるボックスねじ挿通孔をプレート枠の開口部を挟んで対向する部位に設け、当該部位の一方に、プレート枠の開口部の周縁に設けられて配線器具の一方の側面に突出した係止爪を係止する係止溝からなる取付手段を具備するとともに、当該部位の他方に、係止溝に対向するプレート枠の開口部の周縁より後方へ突設された一対の架橋片と、配線器具の他方の側面に突出した係止爪を係止する係止段部を有し一対の架橋片間に撓み自在に設けられる撓み片と、プレート枠に設けられ撓み片をプレート枠の前面側から操作するための操作窓とからなる取付手段を具備することを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面を参照して本発明の実施形態を詳細に説明する。但し、本実施形態の基本的な構成は従来例と共通であるから、共通の構成要素には同一の符号を付して適宜説明を省略する。

図1に示すように、本実施形態の配線器具用プレートはプレート枠Aと化粧プレートBとで構成される。図2に示すように、プレート枠Aのプレート枠本体1は従来例と同様に四隅にアールを付けた略矩形枠状の合成樹脂成型品からなり、中央部に配線器具Cの機能面を前面側へ露出する矩形の開口部2が設けてある。そして、開口部2の上下左右に位置する4つの側片3a〜3dの中央にはそれぞれ凹所5が設けられ、各凹所5内に長孔状のボックスねじ挿通孔6a〜6dがそれぞれ貫設されている。

上側片3aには、開口部2に臨む側方及び前方に開放されて配線器具Cの係止爪62の一方が挿入係止される一対の係止溝4が設けられている。また、上側片3aの背面におけるボックスねじ挿通孔6aと開口部2の間には、左右方向に延びた帯状の補強リブ7aが後方に向けて突設されており、この補強リブ7aで上側片3aを補強している。なお、一対の係止溝4は補強リブ7aの開口部2に臨む側面と上側片3aの背面に跨って設けられている。

一方、下側片3bの背面におけるボックスねじ挿通孔6bと開口部2の間に、略三角形状の一対の架橋片8が後方に向けて突設されるとともに一対の架橋片8間に略凸字形の撓み片9が撓み自在に形成されている。なお、この撓み片9は、下側片3bの背面におけるボックスねじ挿通孔6bと開口部2の間に後方に向けて突設された帯状の補強リブ7bと連続一体に形成されている。

撓み片9の中央突部9aの両側には、配線器具Cの他方の係止爪62が挿入係止される係止段部9bがそれぞれ設けてある。また下側片3bの撓み片9と対向する部位には、撓み片9を前面側に露出させる平面視略矩形の操作窓10が前後方向に貫設されている。さらに、中央突部9aと対向する操作窓10の内周面中央には、中央突部9aに向けて突出する突部10aが形成されている。

一方、左側片3c並びに右側片3dの背面におけるボックスねじ挿通孔6c,6dと開口部2の間には、それぞれ後方に向けて突出する帯状の補強リブ7c,7dが上側片3a及び下側片3bの補強リブ7a,7bと連続一体に形成されている。また、プレート枠本体1の四隅には、化粧プレートBのプレート本体30から後方へ突設されている突片33が挿入される挿通孔11が設けてある。

ここで、プレート枠本体1への配線器具Cの着脱操作について説明する。まず配線器具Cをプレート枠本体1に取り付けるには、配線器具Cの一方の係止爪62を上側片3aの係止溝4にそれぞれ挿入係止し、配線器具Cの他方の係止爪62を、撓み片9を外側に撓ませながら前方へ押接し、係止爪62が係止段部9bを乗り越えて係止した位置で、配線器具Cがプレート枠本体1に取り付けられることになる。また、配線器具Cをプレート枠本体1から取り外す場合には、図4に示すように撓み片9の中央突部9aと操作窓10の突部10aの間に前方よりドライバ等の工具Dの先端を挿入してこじることにより、撓み片9を外側へ撓ませて係止段部9bと係止爪62との係止を外せばよい。

一方、化粧プレートBのプレート本体30は、図3に示すように絶縁性を有する合成樹脂により、プレート枠Aの前面を覆う矩形の主部31と、主部31の全周縁から背面側に突出する側壁32とを一体に形成した略箱形としてある。上記突片33は主部31の背面側の四隅に突設してある。また主部31の略中央には、プレート枠Aに取り付けた配線器具Cの機能面を露出する開口窓31aが設けてある。

プレート本体30下側の側壁32には一対の切欠部34が設けてあり、この切欠部34に治具(ドライバの先端等)を差し込んでプレート本体30に前面側への力を加えることにより、プレート本体30の突片33に設けた爪33aとプレート枠本体1の挿通孔11の受け部11aとの係合を解除し、化粧プレートBをプレート枠Aから取り外すことができるようにしてある。ここで、プレート枠本体1の下側片3bの切欠部34に対応する位置には内側へ窪んだ逃がし部16が設けてあり、切欠部34に差し込まれた治具を逃がすことで奥まで挿入でき、化粧プレートBを取り外す際に力が加え易くしてある。さらに、逃がし部16の背面側端部からは薄肉のリブ17が、化粧プレートBの切欠部34から突出しない程度まで延設してある(図2参照)。すなわち、切欠部34に差し込んだ治具に造営面に当接する部分を支点として力を加えることで造営面に傷が付く虞があるが、リブ17を設けることで切欠部34に差し込んだ治具がリブ17に当接することになり、化粧プレートBをプレート枠Aから取り外す際に治具によって造営面に傷が付くのを防ぐことができる。

またプレート本体30の背面側には、図3(c)に示すように規制リブ35が開口窓31aの下辺と平行に後方へ突設されている。この規制リブ35は、化粧プレートBがプレート枠Aに取着されたときに、プレート枠本体1の操作窓10よりも外側にあり且つ操作窓10と連通した貫通溝14に挿通されて下方より撓み片9に当接し、プレート枠Aの撓み片9の動き(撓み)を規制するものである(図5参照)。

なお、プレート枠本体1の上側片3aにおけるボックスねじ挿通孔6aの側方に長円形の貫通孔18が設けてあり、この貫通孔18に嵌合する嵌合突起36がプレート本体30の主部31の背面に突設されている。すなわち、化粧プレートBは嵌合突起36が貫通孔18に嵌合される向きにのみプレート枠Aに取り付けることができ、プレート枠Aに対して化粧プレートBが誤った向きに取り付けられるのを防止している。

而して、従来例で説明したように埋込ボックス41にプレート枠Aを取り付けるために上側片3a及び下側片3bのボックスねじ挿通孔6a,6bに挿通したボックスねじ40を締め付けると、ボックスねじ挿通孔6a,6b周辺の部位が後方へ反る形で多少変形してしまう。従来例においては、下側片3bを形成する内側部位51と外側部位52とが隙間53の奥端で両端を開口部2の左右側片3c,3dと一体に連結することで撓み片50が形成されているため、ボックスねじ40の締め付けに起因したプレート枠Aの変形が両部位51,52にまで及び易くなっていた。これに対して本実施形態では、配線器具Cの係止爪62が係止する係止段部9bを具備した撓み片9を、プレート枠本体1の下側片3bに設けられた一対の架橋片8間に撓み自在に形成しているので、ボックスねじ40の締め付けに起因した上記プレート枠Aの変形が、架橋片8間に設けられてボックスねじ挿通孔6b周辺の部位から離間されている撓み片9にまでは及び難くなる。その結果、係止溝4と撓み片9の係止段部9bの間隔の拡がりを抑えることができるから、配線器具Cに斜め向きの力が加えられた場合等でも係止爪62と係止段部9bとの係止が外れないようにして配線器具Cのプレート枠Aからの脱落を防止することができる。

ところで従来例においても、図17及び図19に示すようにプレート枠本体1の外側部位52に設けた溝54に挿入されて撓み片50の動きを規制する規制リブ55が化粧プレートB’の背面に突設されていた。しかしながら、図20及び図21に示すように化粧プレートB’をプレート枠A’に取り付けたときに、従来例における規制リブ55と撓み片50との間に隙間gが空くようになっていたため、配線器具Cに斜め方向(図21に矢印で示す方向)の力が加えられたときに撓み片50が隙間gの方へ撓んでしまい、配線器具Cの係止爪62と撓み片50の係止溝50aとの係止が外れてしまう虞があった。

これに対して本実施形態では、既に説明したように化粧プレートBがプレート枠Aに取着されたとき、図6及び図7に示すように化粧プレートBのプレート本体30の背面に突設されている規制リブ35をプレート枠本体1の貫通溝14を通して撓み片9に当接させているので、上述のように配線器具Cに斜め方向の力が加えられたときでも撓み片9が撓むことがなく、配線器具Cの係止爪62と撓み片9の係止段部9bとの係止をさらに外れ難くできるものである。

ところで、一般に住宅等の建物の内壁には壁紙(クロス)を貼ることが多く、配線器具Cを壁面に埋込配設するためには壁面に設けられる埋込孔の部分で壁紙を切り取って孔を開ける必要があるが、この孔開け作業において、埋込孔を塞ぐ壁紙をきれいに切り取ることができずに残った壁紙が埋込孔の周りにはみ出す場合がある。通常、壁紙のはみ出した部分はプレート枠Aと壁面との間に挟み込んでしまうのであるが、施工の都合上からプレート枠Aを埋込ボックス41に取り付けて壁面に配設した後から壁紙を貼る作業(クロス貼作業)を行う場合、上記壁紙のはみ出し部分をプレート枠Aと壁面との間に挟み込むことができず、化粧プレートBと壁面との間に壁紙が挟み込まれてしまうことがある。従来の配線器具用プレートでは、図20に示すように化粧プレートB’の背面側に突設した突片33の先端に爪33aを設け、プレート枠A’の挿通孔11に挿通した突片33の爪33aを挿通孔11の周縁に形成した受け部11aに凹凸係合させることで突片33の抜け止めを行って化粧プレートB’をプレート枠A’に取り付けていたが、上記爪33aを受け部11aに係止した状態でプレート枠A’の背面と化粧プレートB’の側壁32の背面とがほぼ面一となるように突片33の長さ寸法が設定されていると、化粧プレートB’と壁面との間に挟み込まれた壁紙のはみ出し部分の厚みによって化粧プレートB’の爪33aがプレート枠A’の受け部11aに係止できなくなる虞があった。

これに対して本実施形態では、図8に示すように化粧プレートBの突片33の先端部に前後方向に沿って2つの爪33a,33bを列設し、何れかの爪33a,33bをプレート枠本体1の受け部11aに係止することでプレート枠Aに化粧プレートBを取り付けることができるようにしている。ここで、説明を簡単にするために突片33の先端に近い方を第一の爪33a、他方を第二の爪33bと呼ぶことにする。

図6に示すように壁面と化粧プレートBとの間に壁紙を挟み込んでいない状態では、突片33の第二の爪33bを挿通孔11の受け部11aに係止して突片33を抜け止めし、図8に示すように壁面と化粧プレートBとの間に壁紙Kを挟み込んだ状態においては、突片33の第一の爪33aを受け部11aに係止して抜け止めすることにより、化粧プレートBを確実にプレート枠Aに取り付けることができる。ここで、突片33の第二の爪33bが受け部11aに係止している場合では化粧プレートBがプレート枠Aから若干浮いた状態となるが、この場合でも化粧プレートBの規制リブ35がプレート枠Aの撓み片9に当接するように規制リブ35の寸法を設定している(図8及び図9参照)。

ところで本実施形態においては、図10に示すようにプレート枠Aの背面側から貫通溝14に挿通された規制リブ35を逃がす逃がし部9cが撓み片9に設けてある。つまり、プレート枠A及び化粧プレートBは工場から出荷されてから実際に使用されるまでの間は袋などの包装材で包装されるのが一般的であるが、プレート枠Aの前面に化粧プレートBを取り付けた状態で包装すると、プレート枠Aの背面側に補強リブ7a〜7d等が突出するために包装材に引っ掛かって包装作業が行い難くなったり、あるいは包装材が傷ついたり破れたりする虞がある。そこで、撓み片9に設けた逃がし部9cで規制リブ35を逃げることにより、図11及び図12に示すようにプレート枠Aを前後逆にして化粧プレートB内に収納することができ、このような状態ではプレート枠A及び化粧プレートBの前面あるいは側面のみが外側に露出することになり、外側への出っ張りを少なくすることができるので、包装材で包装する際の包装作業が容易になるとともに袋などの包装材が傷ついたり破れたりするのを防ぐことができる。

また、図13に示すようにプレート枠本体1の上側片3aにも架橋片8及び撓み片9、操作窓10を設けて上下両側片3a,3bの取付手段を同一構成としても構わない。このように上下両側片3a,3bの取付手段を同一構成とすれば、何れの側片3a,3bの側からでも配線器具Cを取り外すことができるために施工性の向上が図れる。また、配線器具Cを取り付ける際に撓み片9を外側に撓ませながら配線器具Cを前方へ押し込むのに必要な力が低減されるとともに、配線器具Cの係止爪62による撓み片9の削れも減少する。

ところで本実施形態の配線器具用プレートは、1個の配線器具Cを造営面に埋込配設するものであるが、同寸法の配線器具Cを幅方向に複数個並べて埋込配設する配線器具用プレートにも本発明の技術思想が適用可能である。

図14は3個の配線器具Cを幅方向に並べて埋込配設するための3個用のプレート枠Aを示しており、上述の1個用のプレート枠Aと異なる点は、開口部2の水平方向の寸法が3倍である点、上側片3aに一対の係止溝4が3組設けられている点、下側片3bに撓み片9が3つ設けられている点、左右両側片3c,3dに凹所5及びボックスねじ挿通孔6c,6dが設けられていない点が1個用のプレート枠Aと異なる。また、図15は3個用の化粧プレートBを示しており、プレート枠Aと同様に開口窓31aの水平方向の寸法が1個用の3倍である点、規制リブ35が3つ突設されている点を除いて1個用の化粧プレートBと共通である。したがって、プレート枠Aも化粧プレートBも基本的な構成は1個用と3個用で共通であるから説明は省略する。

請求項1の発明は、埋込型の配線器具の機能面を露出させる開口部を有するとともに開口部を挟んで対向する両部位に配線器具を取り付けるための取付手段を具備して造営面に設けられた埋込孔の開口面側を覆う合成樹脂製のプレート枠と、配線器具の機能面を露出させる開口窓を有するとともにプレート枠に取着されてプレート枠の前面を覆う化粧プレートとを備え、埋込孔内に配設される埋込ボックスにプレート枠を取り付けるためのボックスねじが挿通されるボックスねじ挿通孔をプレート枠の開口部を挟んで対向する部位に設け、当該部位の一方に、プレート枠の開口部の周縁に設けられて配線器具の一方の側面に突出した係止爪を係止する係止溝からなる取付手段を具備するとともに、当該部位の他方に、係止溝に対向するプレート枠の開口部の周縁より後方へ突設された一対の架橋片と、配線器具の他方の側面に突出した係止爪を係止する係止段部を有し一対の架橋片間に撓み自在に設けられる撓み片と、プレート枠に設けられ撓み片をプレート枠の前面側から操作するための操作窓とからなる取付手段を具備することを特徴とし、ボックスねじ挿通孔に挿通したボックスねじを締め付けたときにボックスねじ挿通孔周辺の部位が多少変形しても、ボックスねじの締め付けに起因したプレート枠の変形が、架橋片間に設けられてボックスねじ挿通孔周辺の部位から離間されている撓み片にまでは及び難く、しかも、配線器具の係止爪が係止する係止段部を撓み片に設けていることによって、ボックスねじを締め付けたときに係止爪と撓み片の係止段部との係止が外れないようにして配線器具の脱落を防止することができる。
