2NaOH+Cl2→NaClO+NaCl+H2O

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing hypochlorite by electrolysis, and more particularly to an apparatus for efficiently producing a high concentration of hypochlorite.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Hypochlorite typified by sodium hypochlorite is used as a flotation agent and disinfectant in various fields such as water and sewage treatment and drainage treatment for household kitchens and laundry. Hypochlorite can be produced by reacting alkali metal hydroxide obtained by electrolysis of an aqueous solution of alkali metal chloride such as saline with chlorine, or by using alkali metal chloride as a membrane. It is performed by a method in which electrolysis is performed in an electrolytic cell and hypochlorite is directly produced in the electrolytic cell. Since the method of reacting alkali metal hydroxide and chlorine can obtain a high concentration of hypochlorite, this method is used when manufacturing for the purpose of selling hypochlorite. However, since an electrolytic facility for producing alkali metal hydroxide and chlorine is required, it is carried out on a large scale in association with the production of sodium hydroxide or chlorine in an electrolytic plant for saline solution.
[0003]
Also known is a method of electrolyzing an aqueous solution of salt or the like in a diaphragm electrolyzer. In this method, the concentration of hypochlorite produced is relatively low, but it is possible to produce a concentration that can be used directly for water purification and sterilization, and the production equipment is also hydroxylated. Since it is simpler than electrolytic equipment for producing alkali and chlorine, it is produced in the field where hypochlorite is required. Moreover, the production of hypochlorite by electrolysis can be adjusted by adjusting the current to be applied according to the amount of hypochlorite, and the resulting product can be used for sterilization, etc. Since all effective chlorine content is dissolved in water, it is easy to use.
[0004]
Therefore, a facility for using chlorine or hypochlorite that has been provided with storage facilities for liquid chlorine so far, dissolves gaseous chlorine generated, or stores and dilutes concentrated hypochlorite. In addition, hypochlorous acid is produced by electrolysis in the field where there is no need to store and transport chlorine and the like.
In the case of electrolyzing an aqueous solution of alkali chloride such as sodium chloride using a non-diaphragm electrolytic cell, the salt water supplied as the electrolyte has a concentration of about 2% to 4%. The higher the salt concentration, the higher the chlorine generation efficiency at the anode. However, if salt water containing hypochlorous acid produced by electrolysis is used as it is for water treatment, etc. Is not preferable because it is mixed with the water to be treated, so that the salt concentration of seawater is usually used. In electrolysis, hypochlorite is produced by the reaction between chlorine generated on the anode side and alkali generated on the cathode side. Hypochlorite is chlorate if electrolysis continues in the electrolytic cell. To change. Therefore, in order to produce high-concentration hypochlorite in the membrane electrolyzer using relatively low-concentration salt water as a raw material, even if the residence time of the electrolyte is increased, only the amount of chlorate produced increases. The production efficiency of hypochlorite decreases.
[0005]
Therefore, in order to produce hypochlorite with high current efficiency, a plurality of electrolytic cells equipped with an anode and a cathode are connected via a partition plate without increasing the electrolysis rate in the unit electrolytic cell. (For example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 52-28104 and Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-44956) have been proposed. However, the concentration of hypochlorous acid obtained by such a method is not sufficient, and a method for producing high-efficiency and high-concentration hypochlorite by electrolysis has been demanded. Therefore, the applicant of the present invention has added an alkaline aqueous solution containing hypochlorite obtained by adding a reduced concentration alkali metal chloride aqueous solution obtained in an anode chamber of an electrolytic cell partitioned by a cation exchange membrane to the cathode chamber. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5-179475 proposes a method of obtaining a high concentration hypochlorite aqueous solution by reacting chlorine obtained in the anode chamber with the chlorine obtained in the anode chamber. In order to generate chlorine that is subject to regulations and react with the catholyte, it must be handled in the same way as chlorine production facilities, and maintenance must be taken with great care so that chlorine does not leak from equipment piping, etc. It was.
The present applicant is capable of producing hypochlorite with a high concentration similar to the case of using sodium hydroxide and chlorine obtained by electrolysis in a salt ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell, and leaking chlorine. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-121280 proposes an apparatus for producing hypochlorite without worrying about the above.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the hypochlorite manufacturing apparatus, since a relatively high-purity raw material salt that can be used as a salt solution for electrolysis only by dissolution is used as the raw material salt, salt is dissolved in the anode chamber of the electrolytic cell. Saline is supplied directly, and the anolyte containing salt together with chlorine is discharged from the anolyte chamber. Even if a salt solution having an appropriate concentration or more according to the amount of hypochlorite produced is supplied, the excess salt solution is discharged without being used.
Therefore, it is necessary to supply an appropriate amount of saline solution having an appropriate concentration. In order to supply an appropriate amount of saline solution having a constant concentration, a salt water flow rate corresponding to the salt water concentration is determined and the discharge amount of the salt water pump is adjusted. However, even if the salt water concentration decreases due to insufficient salt dissolution in the salt water due to the salt temperature fluctuation, a sufficient amount of hypochlorite is obtained or there is some fluctuation in the flow rate. However, the flow rate of the saline solution is increased so that a sufficient amount of salt solution is supplied. However, salt that is not used is discharged as it is, which has been a factor of reducing the salt utilization rate.
This invention makes it a subject to provide the manufacturing method which enables efficient utilization of salt in the manufacturing method of hypochlorite.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing hypochlorite by electrolysis of salt water, and a hypochlorite reaction tank is provided integrally with an electrolytic cell partitioned into a cathode chamber and an anode chamber by a cation exchange membrane. Between the acid salt reaction tank and at least one of the anode chamber or the cathode chamber, introduction means for introducing at least one of the anode chamber product or the cathode chamber product into the hypochlorite reaction tank, The salt water supply path to the anode chamber has a salt concentration measuring means, a flow rate measuring means, and a salt flow rate control means for adjusting the flow rate based on a change in the salt concentration. This is a hypochlorite production apparatus having water supply control means based on the measurement value of the measurement means, the feed pump, the water amount measurement means, the concentration of salt water to the anode chamber, and the supply amount.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
A hypochlorite production apparatus and production method according to the present invention includes a hypochlorite reaction tank integrated with an ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell partitioned into a cathode chamber and an anode chamber by a cation exchange membrane, and ion exchange. Measures the concentration of salt water supplied to the anode chamber in a device that produces hypochlorite by reacting with the alkali hydroxide aqueous solution generated in the cathode chamber without taking out the chlorine generated in the membrane electrolytic cell outside the cell. In addition, by adjusting the flow rate according to the concentration and adjusting the amount of water supplied to the cathode chamber, it is possible to supply an appropriate amount of salt water required in the manufacturing apparatus. Thus, it is possible to prevent waste of salt water.
[0010]
The present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

In the hypochlorite reactor, 2NaCl + 2H 2 O → 2NaOH + Cl 2 + H 2 by the following electrolysis.
The total amount of sodium hydroxide and chlorine produced reacts according to the following reaction formula:
2NaOH + Cl 2 → NaClO + NaCl + H 2 O
Hypochlorite and equimolar sodium chloride are formed. On the other hand, the salt water supplied to the hypochlorite reaction vessel by the method of the present invention contains 60 to 70 g / l of sodium chloride. Both the salt produced by the chlorate production reaction and the salt contained in the salt water are included.
[0014]
Therefore, when used in applications where the concentration of salt is a problem, the amount of salt water in the anode chamber can be reduced by decreasing the amount of salt water supplied to the anode chamber and increasing the decomposition rate of salt. Alternatively, the sodium chloride may be separated from the hypochlorite aqueous solution by crystallization by cooling or the like. Moreover, the salt which crystallized and isolate | separated can be melt | dissolved and used again as a raw material salt.
In the apparatus of the present invention, by adjusting the amount of water supplied to the cathode chamber, a hypochlorite aqueous solution having a low concentration to a high concentration can be produced according to the purpose of use.
[0015]
In addition, as the cation exchange membrane of the ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell used in the method of the present invention, a fluororesin-based cation exchange membrane can be used, but the concentration of the sodium hydroxide aqueous solution produced at the cathode is particularly high. Since it is not necessary to use a concentration, a low concentration cation exchange membrane can be used.
In the apparatus of the present invention, salt water obtained by dissolving salt can be used directly by using raw material salt with less impurities, but the salt or salt water obtained contains a large amount of impurities. In this case, a salt water purification step may be provided in the salt water dissolution step.
