【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、歩車道境界などに設置される防護柵のビーム支持構造に関し、特に強固な固定でかつ景観上も美しい継手部分へのカバー材の固定構造に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、防護柵のビーム継手構造としては実公平5−2655号公報、あるいは実用新案登録第2593202号公報等に記載されるように、支承金具を介し、あるいは偏平すり割り筒状金具を介し防護柵の支柱と管体( ビーム )とがボルトで固定されたものが開示されているが、いずれの場合も固定用のボルト頭部が露出して歩行者に対し危険でかつ景観上も良くないため、これらの問題点を解決するため本出願人は特開平9−228333号公報に示した如く、防護柵の支柱側壁に取り付けられた取付金具にビームを正面から固定したうえで、その取付金具にカバーを取り付ける防護柵の支柱とビームの取付構造を提案した。

もっとも、防護柵のビーム継手構造に関して美感にも配慮されたものとしては特開平7−259038号公報において、金属(一般に鋳物製)や合成樹脂製のブラケットによって締付けボルトの頭部を目立たせることなく固定させるという防護柵用継ぎ手が提案されている。

しかしながら、特開平9−228333号公報に示すカバーは取付金具に嵌合されて覆われているため車両の接触によって外れることもあり得る点が問題で、また特開平7−259038号公報に示すブラケットは金属(一般に鋳物製)や合成樹脂製のため車両の接触により破損した場合防護柵の支柱とビームの接続が外れたり、破片が飛散して二次災害の原因となり得る等の問題を有している。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
そこで、防護柵のビーム支持構造において、景観に配慮したビーム支持具へのカバー材の固定構造を、取り付けが強固で容易に外れることなく、さらには支持機能だけでなく夜間には視認性向上という付加機能を備えたものとして、ボルト頭部を露出させない歩行者への安全配慮に加え、車両に対しても積極的な安全面の配慮がなされた防護柵のビーム支持構造を提供するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
すなわち本発明防護柵のビームの支持構造は、支柱間に長尺の管状体からなるビームが架設されてなる防護柵において、支柱に固定されて上下の挟持部によりビームを上下から挟持固定させるビーム支持具と、そのビーム支持具の上部に覆せられるカバー材と、ビーム支持具とカバー材とを貫通してナットにより緊締固定されて、カバー材をビーム支持具に固定すると共にそれと同時にビームをビーム支持具に固定する固定ボルトとを備えたことを特徴とするものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面に基づき本発明防護柵のビーム支持構造について詳述する。
図1は、適宜間隔に立設された複数の支柱1にビーム2を架設して構成された防護柵を示し、本実施形態の例においては図2に表す如く2つのタイプのビーム支持具3A,3Bが使用されており、ビーム支持具3Aは互いに隣接するビームの接続部においてビーム2,2それぞれのビーム端部に挿入固定される接続金具21を介して接続されたビーム(本実施形態例では地上高さ600mmを中心として上下それぞれに150mmの高さ位置に計3段)を支柱1の側壁に固定するようになされ、ビーム支持具3Bは長尺のビーム2をその中間部分で支持するとともに支柱1側壁に固定するようになされたものである。
なお、本実施の形態例において防護柵は、支柱1に114.3mmφの鋼管製(厚さ4.5mm)、ビームとして48.6mmφの鋼管製(厚さ2.4mm,または3.2mm)のものによって構成され、いずれも防蝕性下地処理に耐候性塗装仕上げがなされ、またビーム支持具としては亜鉛メッキ処理の鋼板製プレス成形品(厚さ3.2mm)に耐候性塗装仕上げのものが用いられている。

本発明の第一実施形態例を示す図2において、ビーム外形の上下に挟持部33が突設されてビームを上下から挟持固定させるビーム支持具3A、またはビームの外形に対応させた支持部34によってビームを下部から支持するビーム支持具3Bは、それぞれ挟持部33,支持部34から一体的に形成された固着部31に開穿された固定孔32を通し取付ボルト50によって支柱1に固着され、これらビーム支持具3A,3Bに兼用でその上部から覆せられるカバー材4が、ビーム支持具3A,3Bの幅方向両端に左右一対の側端部42,43を外嵌させて取り付けられており、カバー材4の上面部41には固定ボルト5の首部に設けられた非円形断面のボルト係止部52が嵌まり込むように対応して係止孔40が設けられ、係止孔40に挿通された固定ボルト5がビーム支持具3(およびビーム2,接続金具21)に設けられた連結孔20,30を貫通してナットにより緊締固定する構成となされ、固定ボルト5を用いてビーム2をビーム支持具3に固定させるのと同時にカバー材4の固定をさせるものである。
なお、カバー材4の材質としては本実施形態例では亜鉛メッキ処理下地の鋼板(厚さ1.6mm)によるプレス成形品に耐候性塗装仕上げされたものであるが、その他金属製鋳造品や合成樹脂製インジェクション成型品等が適用される。

反射体7は、化粧カバー6左右側面に形成された凹部61(本例では溝状)に嵌め込まれる等して用いられ、基板の前面に空気層を介してポリカーボネートやアクリル等透明プラスチックからなる多数の三角錐状突起を形成したレンズ体を配設させて作製されたプリズムタイプの反射体、あるいは図5中に示したようにベースにABSやゴム製等の樹脂製基体71を用いて底面に鏡面処理がなされた再帰反射性を有するガラスビーズ製反射器72が多数個半埋設されたもの等が、従来の反射テープより反射性能,耐久性に優れていて好適である。
本実施の形態例では溝状の凹部61は、反射効果を高めるため図3中に示したように、防護柵のビーム通り芯方向より5〜15°ばかり角度をもって到達する車両等の前照灯からの入射光Xに対向させて配置されている。
