(James M. Gossett,David C. Stuckey,“ Heat treatment and anaerobic digestion of refuse ”:Journal of the environmental engineering division, Vol.108, No.EE3, 1982年6月)。
【0007】

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to a method of solubilizing a solid waste such as newspaper, corrugated cardboard, etc., and bark, wood waste, etc. discharged from the wood processing industry by wet oxidation, and specifically in wet oxidation. In order to improve the decomposition rate of lignin that cannot be decomposed by microorganisms and to suppress the formation of undesirable decomposition products from microorganisms resulting from the decomposition of cellulose, while leaving as much of the biodegradable cellulose as possible, The present invention relates to a method for enabling efficient microbial degradation treatment.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Papers contained in large amounts in household waste and business waste are being recycled, and although the recovery rate of used paper varies depending on the type, newspaper and corrugated cardboard have already reached 95% and 80%, respectively. Are over 50% and 90%, respectively, approaching the theoretical limit values simulated from product quality. Accordingly, the amount of surplus waste paper will increase in the future, and new means for using waste paper is required.
[0003]
Under such circumstances, attempts have been made to anaerobically digest municipal waste that contains a large amount of paper. However, hydrolytic bacteria and acid-producing bacteria, which are anaerobic bacteria, are used as solid waste such as newspapers and toilet paper. It is difficult to decompose and efficient energy recovery as methane gas has not been made.
[0004]
The reason why anaerobic bacteria are difficult to decompose woody solid waste such as paper is that natural cellulose is highly crystallized and contains lignin which is extremely difficult to biodegrade. In addition, cellulose itself can be finally decomposed to glucose by cellulase produced by microorganisms, but cellulose constituted as a fiber cannot be effectively decomposed because it is covered with lignin that is difficult to biodegrade. .
[0005]
To solve this problem, the binding of lignin and cellulose contained in newspapers, toilet paper, and other papers is changed to make these carbohydrates easily decomposed by anaerobic microorganisms. There is research to enhance it.
[0006]
For example, prior to anaerobic digestion of municipal waste, after adjusting the pH to 13, an alkaline heat treatment is performed at a reaction temperature of 200 ° C and a reaction time of 1 hour, which can increase the methane yield from municipal waste. It has been reported that However, it has also been reported that significant digestion inhibition is observed when the thermochemically treated lignin concentration exceeds 1 g / L (James M. Gossett, David C. Stuckey, “Heat treatment and anaerobic digestion of refuse”. : Journal of the environmental engineering division, Vol.108, No.EE3, June 1982).

On the other hand, JP-A-59-26195 describes a method for treating a cellulose-containing waste incorporating a delignification step as shown in FIG. That is, the cellulose-containing
[0008]
However, in the treatment method of FIG. 4, the process of eluting and decomposing lignin, which is difficult to biodegrade, consists of a delignification process of eluting lignin by alkaline heat treatment and an ozone treatment process of decomposing the eluted lignin with ozone. A gas-
[0009]
On the other hand, JP-A-2000-84520 discloses a woody system in which an aqueous medium and an oxidizing agent are added to a woody solid waste, and the waste is solubilized and gasified by wet oxidation under heating and pressure. Describes how to dispose of waste. The wet oxidation treatment in this method has a reaction temperature of 100 to 250 ° C., preferably 120 to 200 ° C., and is maintained at this reaction temperature for 0 to 1 hour, preferably 20 to 30 minutes. The reaction pressure uses an inert medium. Or using self-generated pressure by an aqueous medium. As the aqueous medium, water or a mixture of water and an organic solvent is used; to this aqueous medium, an alkaline substance such as sodium hydroxide is added in an amount of about 0.5 to 1.5% by weight based on the raw material waste. What can be done: Hydrogen peroxide can be used as the oxidizing agent; this oxidizing agent is used in an amount of 1 to 15% by weight, preferably 5 to 15% by weight in terms of oxygen atom, based on the waste in an absolutely dry state. As a result, the waste solubilization reaction mainly occurs when the reaction temperature is maintained at 100 to 130 ° C, and the waste gasification reaction mainly occurs when the reaction temperature is maintained at 140 ° C or higher. .
[0010]
However, when the treatment method described in JP-A-2000-84520 is reproduced using newspaper as the target waste, sodium hydroxide as an alkaline substance is added to the aqueous medium in an amount of about 1.5% by weight based on the raw material waste. Nevertheless, the solubilized product obtained showed an acidity of
[0011]
In addition, conventionally, as a method for treating human waste and organic sludge, the organic matter in the water is subjected to oxygen in an oxygen-containing gas such as air under a pressure at which water maintains the liquid phase at a specific temperature by a liquid phase oxidation method called the Zimmermann method. There is known a wet oxidation method utilizing oxidation decomposition. The wet oxidation method for treating human waste and organic sludge can supply a large amount of oxygen in order to satisfy the amount of heat necessary for heating the wet-processed oxidized product with the oxidation heat generated by the oxidation reaction and burn itself. Only to oxidatively decompose.
[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, when the above-mentioned wet oxidation treatment is applied to wood-based solid waste, substances that are harmful to microorganisms are generated, so that significant digestion inhibition is observed in microbial decomposition treatment such as anaerobic digestion. Therefore, there has been a demand for elucidation of the harmful substances and countermeasures.
[0013]
Accordingly, the present invention provides a method for solubilizing a wood-based solid waste by wet oxidation to decompose microorganisms and effectively decomposes lignin during wet oxidation and is harmful to microorganisms resulting from cellulose decomposition. It is an object of the present invention to provide a treatment method capable of efficiently degrading a wood-based solid waste by suppressing as much as possible generation of microbially degradable cellulose.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The inventors of the present invention have found that substances harmful to microorganisms generated by wet oxidation treatment of wood solid waste are furan such as furfural and hydroxymethylfurfural in which cellulose and hemicellulose are decomposed and dissolved in a liquid phase. In addition, it is possible to suppress the generation of these harmful substances to a low concentration that does not reveal any inhibitory action by wet oxidation treatment of wood-based solid waste under specific conditions. In addition, the present inventors have found that lignin, which is difficult to biodegrade, can be decomposed as much as possible, and cellulose and hemicellulose that are inherently biodegradable can remain as much as possible.

In the alkali slurry adjustment step, by adjusting the pH of the slurry before wet oxidation so that the pH of the processed product after wet oxidation becomes 6.0 to 8.0, preferably 6.5 to 7.5, While improving the lignin decomposition rate in a wet oxidation process, it suppresses the production | generation of the decomposition product unfavorable for the anaerobic digestion microorganisms which arise from a cellulose decomposition, and improves the efficiency of anaerobic digestion. In addition, when the pH of the processed product after wet oxidation is out of the range of 6.0 to 8.0, that is, when the addition amount of the alkaline aqueous solution is insufficient and becomes
[0026]
The alkaline agent used in the alkaline aqueous solution may be a general-purpose one, and sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide and the like are usually used. The amount of alkali added varies depending on the slurry concentration of the wooden solid waste and the treatment temperature of the wet oxidation process. The higher the slurry concentration of the wooden solid waste and the higher the treatment temperature of the wet oxidation process, the more addition is required. It becomes. This is because cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin and the like are hydrolyzed and partially oxidized and decomposed by the wet oxidation treatment, and a high concentration of organic acid such as acetic acid and butyric acid is generated, so that a large amount of alkali is consumed. A general alkali addition amount is 15 to 25% by mass with respect to the wooden solid waste. The alkaline

[0029]
This CODcr value means the oxygen consumption by potassium dichromate specified in JIS K0102 (1998) Industrial Wastewater Test Method. In the present invention, the CODcr value of the wood-based solid waste slurry is, for example, 30 g / L. In this case, an oxygen-containing gas containing 10 to 20% of this CODcr value, that is, 3.0 to 6.0 g of oxygen is added to 1 L of the wooden solid waste slurry. The oxygen-containing gas is not limited to air, but may be any oxygen-containing gas that is free from dangers such as explosions and harmful substances. Air, oxygen-enriched gas, pure oxygen, and exhaust gas from motors and boilers Etc. In some cases, it is also possible to use exhaust gas from the heating boiler 12. In that case, the residual oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas may be measured, and the necessary exhaust gas amount corresponding to the oxygen concentration may be supplied.
[0030]
In the wet oxidation process of the present invention, since the oxygen supply amount is limited and stopped by partial oxidation, the amount of heat necessary to heat the wet-oxidized product is satisfied by the oxidation heat generated by the oxidation reaction, that is, self-combustion is performed. Unlike the wet oxidation method, in order to maintain the processing temperature at 170 to 190 ° C., it is necessary to continue heating from the outside. Such heating may be either indirect heating such as steam by a heat exchanger or direct heating in which steam or the like is brought into direct contact with the alkali slurry.
[0031]
The supply location of oxygen to the reaction tower 11 is not limited to the lower part of the reaction tower 11, and oxygen may be joined to the alkaline slurry flowing out from the
[0032]
The wet oxidation product discharged from the reaction tower 11 passes through the first heat exchanger 9 and reaches a liquid temperature of 50 to 80 ° C. and flows to the pressure control valve (PVC) 15 where the pressure in the reaction system is kept constant. The pressure is reduced from an absolute pressure of 1.0 to 2.5 MPa to an atmospheric pressure of 0.1 MPa while maintaining, and then flows into the gas-liquid separator 16 to be separated into oxidized exhaust gas and oxidized slurry. Oxidized exhaust gas is processed by the exhaust gas processing device 17 to be released into the atmosphere, or used as part of the aeration gas for biological treatment as a post-treatment in the anaerobic digestion step. On the other hand, the oxidized slurry is supplied to the oxidized slurry reservoir 19 by the oxidized slurry transfer pump 18.
[0033]
The pH of the alkali slurry before the wet oxidation treatment is usually 10 or more, but by wet oxidation treatment, cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, etc. in the wood-based solid waste are hydrolyzed and further partially oxidized and decomposed. Since an organic acid such as butyric acid and carbonic acid are generated and alkali is consumed, the pH of the oxidized slurry after the wet oxidation treatment is almost neutral. Therefore, it is possible to improve the decomposition rate of lignin that cannot be decomposed by microorganisms and to suppress the generation of decomposition products that are undesirable for the microorganisms resulting from the decomposition of cellulose, and to leave as much as possible cellulose that can be decomposed by microorganisms. No neutralizer is required.
[0034]
The oxidized slurry in the oxidized slurry reservoir 19 is fed into the anaerobic digester 21 by the oxidized
[0035]
In the example shown in the figure, the oxidation slurry is supplied to the anaerobic digestion process without solid-liquid separation, but the oxidation slurry is solid-liquid separated to remove at least a part of the oxidation separation liquid which is a liquid phase. The separated oxidative separation liquid may be supplied to the anaerobic digestion tank 21 and processed by the biological treatment device 24 in the post-treatment process. The “processed product after the wet oxidation process” in
[0036]
The anaerobic digestion tank 21 is generally performed in a single tank type in which an acid generation phase and a methane generation phase are combined. However, one tank may be divided into two tanks, or separately used in the past. Any structure may be used as long as it is an agitation type in the tank, such as a two-tank type, and a multi-tank type in which digestion efficiency is improved by changing the temperature. However, in consideration of heat radiation from the anaerobic digestion tank and transfer of the digestive fluid, the one tank type or the two tank type is preferable.
[0037]
The digestion slurry in the anaerobic digestion tank 21 flows into the solid-liquid separation tank 22 and is separated into digestion desorption liquid and concentrated digested sludge. The separated digestion detachment liquid is sent to the biological treatment apparatus 24 by the digestion / detachment liquid transfer pump 23 and biologically treated with activated sludge, and then the biological treatment water is discharged out of the system. A part of the biologically treated water may be returned to the wet
[0038]
On the other hand, the concentrated digested sludge from the solid-liquid separation tank 22 is supplied to the dewatering device 28 by the concentrated digested sludge supply pump 27, dehydrated, and then sent to the compost manufacturing device 29 for composting. In the compost production apparatus 29, the digested sludge contains almost no undegraded cellulose or lignin, so that composting is promoted and high-quality compost can be produced. Further, the dehydrated filtrate produced by the dehydration process is sent to the biological treatment device 24 by the dehydrated

【Example】
Hereinafter, an embodiment in which the present invention is applied to dehydrated residue generated from newspaper and human waste processing plants will be described.
[0040]
<Example 1>
Newspaper paper was wet-oxidized under different processing conditions, and the decomposition efficiency of cellulose and lignin in the wet-oxidized product and the production of furans such as hydroxymethylfurfural and furfural having an inhibitory effect on microorganisms were examined. Newspaper used in the experiment contained 54.0% by mass of cellulose and 16.9% by mass of lignin, 20 g was cut with a shredder, 1 L of distilled water was added, and then slurried with a homogenizer. Under alkaline conditions, sodium carbonate was added to the newsprint slurry so that the pH after wet oxidation was 6.5 to 7.5, and under acidic conditions, wet oxidation treatment was performed without adding sodium carbonate. The wet oxidation treatment uses a shaking type autoclave experimental apparatus, and a predetermined amount of the newspaper slurry adjusted to the alkaline condition and the acidic condition as described above is put into a reaction vessel having an internal volume of 760 mL, and the oxygen supply amount per unit volume of the newspaper slurry is the newspaper. An amount of compressed air corresponding to 20% of the measured CODcr value of the slurry was filled. The reaction vessel was placed in an electric furnace with a shaking function, and the temperature was raised while shaking to reach a predetermined temperature, followed by wet oxidation treatment for 1 hour. Table 1 shows the wet oxidation treatment conditions and final pH (pH of the treated product after the wet oxidation treatment), Table 2 shows the decomposition efficiency of cellulose and lignin after the wet oxidation treatment, and Table 3 shows the generation of furan derivatives in the wet oxidation treatment. Indicated.
[0041]
[Table 1]
[0042]
[Table 2]
[0043]
[Table 3]
[0044]
As can be seen from Table 2, the decomposition efficiency of lignin is higher in alkaline conditions than in acidic conditions, and the decomposition efficiency of cellulose is low (190 ° C. or lower). Therefore, it is suggested that a treated product that has been wet-oxidized under alkaline conditions that degrades lignin that is difficult to biodegrade and leaves biodegradable cellulose is more suitable for anaerobic digestion. Further, from Table 3, the production of furan such as hydroxymethylfurfural, furfural and the like, which decomposes cellulose and hemicellulose and has an inhibitory action on microorganisms, is greatly reduced under alkaline conditions compared to acidic conditions, and therefore under alkaline conditions. It can be seen that the wet-oxidized product can perform a more stable anaerobic digestion treatment.
[0045]
<Example 2>
The wet oxidation product of newspaper was anaerobically digested, and the optimum wet oxidation conditions were examined from the amount of methane produced. Using the wet-oxidized product obtained in Example 1, 450 mL thereof, 300 mL of digested sludge obtained by anaerobically digesting sewage sludge, and 300 mL of vitamin-inorganic salt solution were placed in a 2 L vial and continuously with a magnetic stirrer. Anaerobic digestion at 35 ° C. with continuous stirring. FIG. 2 shows the cumulative amount of methane produced when an anaerobic digestion of the wet oxidation product at each treatment temperature under alkaline conditions and acidic conditions.
[0046]
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the amount of methane produced from the wet oxidation product under alkaline conditions was larger than the amount of methane produced from the wet oxidation product under acidic conditions, and the optimum treatment temperature was 170 to 190 ° C. In addition, the amount of methane produced was increased by 30% or more compared to the amount of methane produced from the processed product that was wet-oxidized under acidic conditions (treatment temperature: 170 to 210 ° C.) without adjusting the pH.
[0047]
<Example 3>
20 g of newspaper was cut with a shredder, 1 L of distilled water and 5 g of sodium carbonate were added, and then slurried with a homogenizer. When a predetermined amount of this newsprint alkaline slurry is put into a reaction vessel having an internal volume of 760 mL and the oxygen supply amount per unit volume of the alkaline slurry is 20% of the CODcr value of the slurry, the reaction time is changed and wet oxidation is performed. When the reaction time was 60 minutes, the oxygen supply amount was varied and wet oxidation was performed, and the decomposition efficiency of cellulose and lignin after the treatment was examined. Table 4 shows the decomposition efficiency of cellulose and lignin at each oxygen supply amount and each reaction time.
[0048]
[Table 4]
[0049]
From Table 4, as conditions for decomposing lignin that is difficult to biodegrade and leaving biodegradable cellulose, the reaction time is 30 to 60 minutes, and the oxygen supply amount is 10 to 20% of the CODcr value. Recognize.
[0050]
<Example 4>
Dehydrated residue generated from human waste treatment plants is wet-oxidized by wet oxidation treatment under alkaline conditions, heat-treated by heat treatment under alkaline conditions, and non-treatment dehydration without wet oxidation or heat treatment Each residue was subjected to anaerobic digestion to examine the effectiveness of pretreatment in methane production.
[0051]
The dehydrated residue from the urine treatment plant used for the experiment has a water content of 55.4% by mass and a VTS content of 94.6% by mass. After dehydrating and adding 1 L of tap water to 60g of residue, it is slurried with a homogenizer. did. The alkali wet oxidation treatment of the dewatered residue was performed in the same manner as in Example 1 with the treatment temperature set at 170 ° C. In the alkali heat treatment, the treatment temperature was set to 170 ° C., the supply of oxygen was cut off, and the gas phase portion was replaced with nitrogen gas to maintain the liquid phase, and then charged to a predetermined pressure. Table 5 shows the treatment conditions and final pH of the alkali wet oxidation treatment and the alkali heat treatment (pH of the treated product after the treatment).
[0052]
Anaerobic digestion uses an anaerobic digestion tank with an effective capacity of 5L. After the digested sludge obtained by anaerobically digesting sewage sludge is used as seed sludge, the digestion temperature is 36 ° C and the digestion days are 20 days. The product, the alkali heat-treated product and the non-treated dehydrated residue slurry were supplied at 250 mL / d, respectively, and an equal volume of digested sludge was extracted. FIG. 3 shows the progress of methane production.
[0053]
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the amount of methane produced per day is increased by about 41% for alkaline heat treatment and about 55% for alkaline wet oxidation compared to untreated dewatered residue, and pretreatment is performed by alkaline wet oxidation. The highest methane yield.
[0054]
[Table 5]
[0055]
In the above description, an example in which the microbial degradation step in the method of the present invention is performed based on anaerobic digestion has been described. However, cellulose-degrading bacteria and anaerobic hydrogen-producing bacteria such as Clostridium butyricum SC-E1 strain and Clostridium sp. The method of the present invention can be obtained by culturing these anaerobic hydrogen-producing bacteria in the oxidation slurry at a predetermined culture temperature and residence time even when using a hydrogen fermentation process in which the KT-7B strain is allowed to coexist. The microbial decomposition process in can be carried out.
For example, Clostridium sp., Which is an anaerobic digested sludge heat treated at 70-80 ° C. for about 15 minutes to add hydrogen-producing bacteria, Clostridium sp. In the hydrogen fermentation process using the mixed microorganism group to be occupied, hydrogen gas can be obtained from the oxidized slurry in a culture tank having a culture temperature of 35 ° C. and a residence time of 6 to 10 hours. In addition, since this Clostridium sp. Originally exists in anaerobic digested sludge, seed sludge that has been pretreated by heat treating the anaerobic digested sludge at 70-80 ° C. for about 15 minutes to suppress hydrogen-utilizing bacteria. As a result, the hydrogen gas can be obtained in a culture tank having a culture temperature of 35 ° C. and a residence time of 6 to 10 hours.
[0056]
Moreover, in the above description, although the example which implements the wet oxidation process in the method of this invention based on the apparatus which added the boiler for heating to the conventional wet oxidation apparatus was demonstrated, slurry and steam are made to contact directly. Even when a heating process using a heated process or a hydrothermal reaction is used, an oxygen-containing gas corresponding to 10 to 20% of the CODcr value of the reslurry is supplied with an oxygen supply amount per unit volume of the slurry, The partial decomposition in the method of the present invention is performed by performing heat treatment under the conditions of a predetermined pH adjustment, a treatment temperature of 170 to 190 ° C., and a treatment time of 30 to 60 minutes at a pressure that maintains the liquid phase of the slurry. A wet oxidation process can be performed.
