【0001】

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
[0022]
As described in detail below, the present invention provides an image input device and an image output currently connected to the network based on information (device information) on the functions of the image input device and the image output device connected to the network. Transfer path information indicating all functions that can be realized by a combination of devices is created, and this transfer path information is configured to be displayed on the display screen of each image input device and each image output device. As a result, all feasible functions are displayed on the display screen of each device so that the user can use a virtual device that combines devices on the network without being aware of the combination of devices. To do.
[0023]
In this embodiment, the virtual device means that even if there is only a network scanner at the location, if there is a facsimile machine on the network, the scanner is used like a facsimile machine to perform facsimile transmission, or In a case where image data is sent from a scanner at hand to a high-speed printer installed in a copy room and printing processing is performed to perform bookbinding processing, the functions of a plurality of devices are combined into one device. It is to make it function like.
