【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a belt driving device used in an electrophotographic color printer or the like and an image forming apparatus using the belt driving device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in a tandem type electrophotographic color printer or the like, a transfer belt is used to convey a transfer medium onto which an image formed by an electrophotographic process is transferred. The transfer belt is made by kneading carbon black into polyamideimide as a material, and manufacturing this material with a cylindrical shape (seamless) with a specified circumference by a method called spin molding, which is cut to a standard width. Is done.
[0003]
A transfer belt used in the electrophotographic color printer is rotatably arranged, and conveys the transfer medium to the transfer portion of each color while adsorbing the transfer medium. In order to properly convey the transfer medium to each transfer position and to perform image transfer properly, it is necessary to appropriately manage the surface state or resistance value of the transfer belt. In order for the transfer belt to rotate without meandering in the printer, conventionally, a convex meandering prevention guide called a bead is formed inside the transfer belt, and the transfer is performed by rotating the bead in a groove. Measures such as preventing belt meandering were taken.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional transfer belt has the characteristics of the material polyamide-imide, which is hard but easy to break, so that the transfer belt is in contact with the image forming unit on the device side, for example, or for a long time. Therefore, when an excessive load is applied to the joint of the bead, there is a problem that the joint may crack and break during operation.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a belt driving device for driving a belt that is rotatably stretched and has a meandering prevention guide on the inner side. The meandering prevention guide includes an elastic member serving as a guide via a reinforcing member. The reinforcing member has a thickness of 100 μm or more, and a low-friction film is provided on the surface of the meandering prevention guide.
