Description
The present invention relates to a glucose sensor, and more particularly to an optical waveguide glucose sensor for measuring a glucose concentration in a solution such as blood.
。 A planar optical waveguide type glucose sensor forms a pair of gratings where light enters and exits the substrate surface, forms a single optical waveguide layer on the substrate surface located between the gratings, and further on the optical waveguide layer. In which a film having a molecular recognition function and an information conversion function is formed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
In a glucose sensor with such a structure, light such as laser light is incident on the optical waveguide layer through the grating in a state in which biomolecules contained in blood extracted from the specimen are in contact with a film having a molecular recognition function and an information exchange function. The evanescent wave is generated, and the amount of change in the evanescent wave caused by the reaction with the biomolecule contained in the blood or the like by the film on the optical waveguide layer is detected by the light receiving element that receives the light emitted from the grating, Analyzes biomolecules contained in blood and the like.
An object of the present invention is to provide an optical waveguide glucose sensor capable of analyzing a very small amount of glucose extracted from a specimen, for example, in a body fluid with good sensitivity and high accuracy.

Next, an example of a method for manufacturing the above-described optical waveguide glucose sensor will be described with reference to FIGS.
(A) First, as shown in FIG. 2A, the surface of the
(B) Next, as shown in FIG. 2B, the outer periphery of the first
(C) Subsequently, as in (a) again, a layer of a material having a higher refractive index than the first
(D) Next, on the first
(E) Next, as shown in FIG. 3E, a stray
1)酵素および発色色素を溶媒の存在下で架橋性の高分子(例えば光可溶性のポリビニルアルコール)と混合し、この溶液を保護膜5の開口部6から露出した第2光導波路層4表面部分にインクジェットまたはスピンコートにより塗布した後、光照射により光架橋性のポリビニルアルコールを架橋する;
(F) Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 3F, a
1) The surface portion of the second
2) Apply a solution of a lipid molecule having a molecular structure that expresses the coloring function of the dye to the surface portion of the second
(G) Next, on the
Next, a method for measuring glucose in the
Glucose + oxidase (GOD, etc.) → H2O2 (2)
H2O2 + oxidoreductase (POD etc.) → O * (3)
O * + color reagent → color development (4)
In such a state, as shown in FIG. 1, the light source 21 (for example, a semiconductor laser having a wavelength of 650 nm) and the
Therefore, according to the optical waveguide glucose sensor of the first embodiment having the structure shown in FIG. 1, the mesh-like conductive
Further, as shown in FIG. 1, by forming the
Further, by forming the stray
That is, when light propagating through the first
Further, by covering the
(Second Embodiment)
The optical waveguide glucose sensor shown in FIG. 5 has a structure in which a coloring
For example, N, N-bis (2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl) tolidine dipotassium salt or 3,3 ′, 5,5′-tetramethyl is formed on the surface of the second
In the optical waveguide glucose sensor having the configuration shown in FIG. 5, the mesh-like conductive
Therefore, according to the optical waveguide glucose sensor according to the second embodiment having the structure shown in FIG. 5, the mesh-like conductive
(Third embodiment)
An optical waveguide type glucose sensor shown in FIG. 6 is formed on a first
In the optical waveguide glucose sensor having the configuration shown in FIG. 6, as a modification of the wiring shown in FIG. 4, the cathode of the power source 102 is wired to the second
When laser light from the
As a result, a slight change in the light propagating through the second
Therefore, according to the optical waveguide glucose sensor according to the third embodiment having the structure shown in FIG. 6, the second
Further, by forming the optical waveguide by the first

The optical waveguide glucose sensor shown in FIG. 7 is made of a conductive material having a higher refractive index than that of the first
In the optical waveguide glucose sensor having the configuration shown in FIG. 7, as a modification of the wiring shown in FIG. 4, the cathode of the power source 102 is wired to the second
Therefore, according to the optical waveguide glucose sensor according to the fourth embodiment having the structure shown in FIG. 7, the second
(Fifth embodiment)
The optical waveguide glucose sensor shown in FIG. 8 is different from the optical waveguide glucose sensor according to the third embodiment shown in FIG. 6 in that the second
In the optical waveguide glucose sensor having the configuration shown in FIG. 8, a solution containing glucose such as blood or body fluid is dropped onto the
Therefore, according to the optical waveguide glucose sensor according to the fifth embodiment having the structure shown in FIG. 8, the optical waveguide is configured by the first
(Sixth embodiment)
The optical waveguide glucose sensor shown in FIG. 9 differs from the optical waveguide glucose sensor according to the fourth embodiment shown in FIG. 7 in that the second
In the optical waveguide glucose sensor having the configuration shown in FIG. 9, a solution containing glucose such as blood or body fluid is dropped onto the
As a result, the
Therefore, according to the optical waveguide glucose sensor according to the sixth embodiment having the structure shown in FIG. 9, the optical waveguide is constituted by the first
(Seventh embodiment)
The optical waveguide glucose sensor shown in FIG. 10 has a structure in which a coloring
For example, N, N-bis (2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl) tolidine dipotassium salt or 3,3 ′, 5,5′-tetramethyl is formed on the surface of the second
The enzyme

H2O2 + Pt → O * (6)
The method for measuring the amount of glucose is the same as in the second embodiment, and a minute change in the light propagating through the second
Therefore, according to the optical waveguide type glucose sensor according to the seventh embodiment having the structure shown in FIG. 10, the mesh-like conductive

The method for measuring the amount of glucose is the same as in the fourth embodiment, and a minute change in the light propagating through the second
Therefore, according to the optical waveguide glucose sensor according to the eighth embodiment having the structure shown in FIG. 11, the second
