【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、容器フィルムに形成されたポケット部に錠剤を充填する錠剤充填装置及び該充填装置を備えたPTP包装機を含む技術分野に属するものである。

【従来の技術】
一般に、PTPシートは、錠剤等が投入されるポケット部が形成された容器フィルムと、その容器フィルムにポケット部の開口側を密封するように前記容器フィルムに固着される密封用フィルムとから構成されている。そして、容器フィルムと密封用フィルムとを固着する前段階において、ポケット部に錠剤等が充填される。

容器フィルムに錠剤等を自動的に充填する充填装置として、例えば、図9に示すように、ロータリドラム91を備えたものが知られている。ロータリドラム91の外周面には、錠剤92を移送するための収容凹部93が多数形成されている。収容凹部93は、錠剤92の形状及び大きさに合わせて形成されているとともに、容器フィルムに形成された各ポケット部の間隔に合わせた配置構成となっている。

また、ロータリドラム91の上部に近接して錠剤供給シュート94が配設されている。錠剤供給シュート94には多数の錠剤92が積載状態でセットされており、該シュート94から錠剤92が順次排出され、前記収容凹部93に収容される。そして、ロータリドラム91が回転することにより、錠剤92がロータリドラム91の下部まで移送される。ロータリドラム91の下方においては、容器フィルムが水平方向に搬送されており、ロータリドラム91の下部まで移送された錠剤92は、ポケット部内へと落下し、充填される。

ところで、同図2点鎖線で示すように錠剤供給シュート94の最下部にある錠剤92aが対応する収容凹部93にて速やかに倒れ込んでしまうと、その直上にある錠剤(2錠目の錠剤)92bが一瞬宙に浮いてしまった状態となり、図10に示すように、次の瞬間には、収容凹部93のエッジ部95に当たってしまうおそれがある。この場合、2錠目の錠剤92bがダメージを受けてしまうおそれがある。

かかる不具合を防止するべく、最下層の錠剤を所定の位置で保持するべくストッパ等を設ける技術が提案されている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。かかる技術では、錠剤が1錠ずつ落下する毎に、ストッパが作動させられ、これにより、最下層の錠剤が所定位置で保持される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記技術では、錠剤が1錠ずつ落下する毎に、ストッパが往復動作を繰り返す構成となっているため、ロータリドラムを高速で回転させようとした場合に、正確に追従動作できないおそれがある。換言すれば、ロータリドラムを高速で回転させることに支障が生じ、結果として、生産性の向上の妨げとなるおそれがある。

本発明は、上記事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、ロータリドラムを備えた錠剤充填装置に関し、錠剤にダメージが及ぶのを防止でき、なおかつ、充填の高速化による生産性の向上を図ることの可能な錠剤充填装置及びPTP包装機を提供することを主たる目的の一つとしている。

【課題を解決するための手段及び発明の効果】
上記目的を達成し得る特徴的手段について以下に説明する。また、各手段につき、特徴的な作用及び効果を必要に応じて記載する。

手段1.複数の収容凹部を備えたロータリドラムと、前記ロータリドラムの上部近傍に配設され、複数の錠剤を積層してなる錠剤供給シュートとを備え、前記ロータリドラムの回転に伴い、前記錠剤供給シュートから錠剤を1錠ずつ前記収容凹部へと収容し、さらなる前記ロータリドラムの回転に伴い、前記収容凹部へと収容された前記錠剤を、容器フィルムのポケット部に対し充填する錠剤充填装置において、
前記錠剤供給シュートの最下部の錠剤の直上の錠剤が、前記最下部の錠剤に対応する収容凹部のエッジ部が通過してはじめて前記ロータリドラムに当接するよう、前記最下部の錠剤が対応する収容凹部に完全収容されるのを遅延させるガイド部材を設けたことを特徴とする錠剤充填装置。

手段1によれば、ロータリドラムの回転に伴い、錠剤供給シュートから錠剤が1錠ずつ収容凹部へと収容され、さらなるロータリドラムの回転に伴い、収容凹部へと収容された錠剤が、容器フィルムのポケット部に対し充填される。錠剤供給シュートの最下部の錠剤から順に収容凹部に収容されるのであるが、手段1では、当該最下部の錠剤が、対応する収容凹部に完全収容されるのがガイド部材によって遅延させられる。かかる遅延により、最下部の錠剤の直上の錠剤が、前記最下部の錠剤に対応する収容凹部のエッジ部が通過してはじめてロータリドラムに当接する。このため、最下部の錠剤がいち早く収容凹部に収容されてしまうことによってその直上の錠剤が落下して、前記最下部の錠剤に対応する収容凹部のエッジ部に当たってしまうことがない。その結果、前記直上の錠剤がダメージを受けてしまうといった不具合を防止できる。また、錠剤の収容毎に作動するような部材を設けている訳ではなく、前記ガイド部材は少なくとも錠剤充填装置の作動中においては固定的であるため、ロータリドラムの回転速度を増大させたとしても、特段の支障が生じる訳ではない。結果として、錠剤の充填速度を高めることができ、もって生産性の向上を図ることができる。

なお、「錠剤」とあるのは、一般的に錠剤と称されるものの外にも、所謂カプセル錠や、丸薬等のあらゆる錠剤をも含む趣旨である(以下、各手段において同様)。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、一実施の形態について、図1乃至図8を参照しつつ説明する。

本実施の形態では、図2に示すように、錠剤充填装置52をPTP包装機30に装備することによって、PTP包装機30内で容器フィルムに設けられたポケット部に錠剤を充填する。なお、本実施の形態では、錠剤として扁平型の錠剤を使用した場合に基づいて説明する。

PTP包装機30は、錠剤1(図1等参照)を容器フィルムに自動的に包装するものである。具体的には、ポリプロピレン、PVCなどのフィルム40をフィルム送りロール33とテンションロール31,32とで、加熱装置50及び成形装置51に送り込み、錠剤1が充填されるポケット部44(図1参照)をフィルム40に成形する。そして、フィルム40にポケット部44が成形された容器フィルム41が、錠剤1を充填する手段たる錠剤充填装置52の下にまで送られてくると、錠剤充填装置52が各ポケット部44に錠剤1を自動的に充填する。

また、錠剤1の充填後、各ポケット部44における錠剤1の有無、充填された錠剤1の欠損、異物の混入等を見付け出すために検査が行われる。該検査は、CCDカメラ54、照明装置55などから構成される検査装置により行われる。

さらに、各ポケット部44に錠剤1が充填された容器フィルム41の上に、アルミ製の密封用フィルム42を、テンションロール34,35を介して送り込み、シール手段たる一対のシールロール36A,36Bで固着させる。これによって、錠剤1が各ポケット部44に充填されたPTPフィルム43が製造される。かかるPTPフィルム43は、図示しない打抜装置によってシート状に打ち抜かれ、その後、図示しない不良シート排出機構やPTPシート集積機構などへ順に送られる。

さて、図1は、本実施の形態におけるPTP包装機30に適用される錠剤充填装置52を示している。錠剤充填装置52は、図示しない基台を備えている。基台には、ロータリドラム2が設けられている。該ロータリドラム2は図示しないモータによって回転可能に支持されている。

ロータリドラム2の外周面上には、錠剤1を収容するための収容凹部3が多数形成されている(図3参照)。なお、各収容凹部3は、ロータリドラム2の周長方向及び軸線方向に所定の間隔で規則的に配列されている。また、収容凹部3は、該収容凹部3に収容された錠剤1の一部がロータリドラム2の外周面より突出するように形成されている。さらに、ロータリドラム2には、各収容凹部3の中央を通過するべく周長方向に沿った複数の条溝4が形成されている。

ロータリドラム2の上部近傍には、重力による自然落下を利用して、錠剤1を収容凹部3に供給するための錠剤供給シュート5が配設されている。錠剤供給シュート5は、ロータリドラム2の回転方向に対して頂上よりも奥側(頂上を過ぎてしばらくした位置)に配置されている。錠剤供給シュート5内は空洞となっており、錠剤1を縦積状態で鉛直方向に一列に積載できるよう形成されている。なお、錠剤供給シュート5の上流(上部)側は錠剤1の供給部に連結されるとともに、その下流側は積載された錠剤1を排出できるように開口部となっている。本実施の形態では、錠剤供給シュート5の下部開口部には、従来の技術で説明したような1錠ずつ作動するストッパやシャッタ等の類は設けられていない。

前記ロータリドラム2の側部近傍には、前記ロータリドラム2の外周面に沿った半月ガイド部材6が設置固定されている。該半月ガイド部材6は、ロータリドラム2の収容凹部3に収容された錠剤1を落下させたり逸脱させたりすることなく、ロータリドラム2の下部へと案内させるための部材である。

ロータリドラム2の下部まで移送された錠剤1は、ロータリドラム2の最下点において、その下方において水平方向に搬送されている前記容器フィルム41のポケット部44内に充填されるように構成されている。つまり、ロータリドラム2は、その最下点において、容器フィルム41と最接近するよう構成されている。

前記ロータリドラム2の下部には、前記条溝4内において、前記収容凹部3に収容されている錠剤1を強制的に離脱させるための離脱爪7がロータリドラム2の回転とは反対方向から挿入されている。該離脱爪7の基端部側は固定されている。かかる離脱爪7の存在により、収容凹部3に収容されていた錠剤1は、対応するポケット部44に対向したとき、半月ガイド部材6によるガイドも解除され、当該ポケット部44内へと円滑に充填されるようになっている。

さて、本実施の形態においては、ロータリドラム2の上部において前記条溝4内には、ガイド部材を構成するガイド爪11が設けられている。より詳しくは、ガイド爪11は、各条溝4に対応して設けられており、それぞれの基端部が1つのホルダ12に連結されている。一方、基台には、シリンダ13が設けられており、該シリンダ13には、ロッド14が出没可能に設けられている。ロッド14の先端にはアーム15が連結されており、該アーム15の先端には前記ホルダ12が連結されている。

ガイド爪11の前端部分は、前記ロータリドラム2の外周とほぼ同一の円弧状をなし、その先端部上面は、前記収容凹部3の底壁面に対し交わるようテーパ状をなしている。PTP包装機30の動作中、つまり、錠剤1の充填が行われる場合には、前記ロッド14は、シリンダ13内に没入状態とされる。かかる没入状態にあるときには、図4等に示すように、ガイド爪11の先端部のテーパ部は、ちょうど錠剤供給シュート5の下部開口部に対応するよう位置する。

一方、ロッド14が突出状態にあるときには、ガイド爪11は、ロータリドラム2の外周円弧に沿って(図の左方へ)移動し、錠剤供給シュート5の下部開口部をほぼ閉鎖する(図8参照)。つまり、ガイド爪11が当該閉鎖位置に位置することで、錠剤供給シュート5からの錠剤1の自由落下が規制され、錠剤1の充填が停止されるよう構成されている。

次に、上記のように構成されてなる錠剤充填装置52を用いて、搬送される容器フィルム41のポケット部44に錠剤1を充填する場合について説明する。まず、図示しないモータを容器フィルム41の搬送動作に同期して作動させることにより、ロータリドラム2を一方向へ回転させる。この同期回転時には、ロータリドラム2の真下位置においてポケット部44と収容凹部3とが一致するように設定されている。

ロータリドラム2の回転に伴い、錠剤供給シュート5から錠剤1が1錠ずつ収容凹部3へと収容され、さらなるロータリドラム2の回転に伴い、収容凹部3へと収容された錠剤1が、容器フィルム41のポケット部44に対し充填される。ここで、錠剤供給シュート5の最下部の錠剤1aから順に収容凹部3に収容されるのであるが、本実施の形態では、当該最下部の錠剤1aが、急激に落下することなく、ガイド爪11の存在によって、対応する収容凹部3に対し徐々に収容されることとなる。より詳しくは、図4,5に示すように、最下部の錠剤1aが落下するに際し、縦方向の姿勢をほぼ維持したまま、ガイド爪11先端のテーパ部に沿って下方へと徐々に案内される。このように徐々に収容されることで、最下部の錠剤1aの直上の錠剤1bの落下が規制される(遅延される)こととなる。このため、前記直上の錠剤1bが、最下部の錠剤1aに対応する収容凹部3のエッジ部3aよりも下方に位置することがなく、図6,7に示すように、次の時点においては前記エッジ部3aが通過してはじめてロータリドラム2の外周面に当接する。そして、本実施の形態では、ロータリドラム2が回転し、ロッド14が没入状態にある場合、錠剤1に関しては、上記のような収容動作が繰り返される。一方、ロッド14が突出させられると、図8に示すように、ガイド爪11がロータリドラム2の外周円弧に沿って移動し、錠剤供給シュート5の下部開口部が閉鎖され、錠剤1の収容、ひいては充填が停止される。

以上詳述したように、本実施の形態によれば、錠剤充填に際しては固定的なガイド爪11を設けることとしたため、該ガイド爪11先端のテーパ部に沿って最下部の錠剤1aが徐々に収容され、最下部の錠剤1aの直上の錠剤1bの落下が規制され、完全収容が遅延される。このため、前記直上の錠剤1bが、最下部の錠剤1aに対応する収容凹部3のエッジ部3aよりも下方に位置することがなく、エッジ部3aが通過してはじめてロータリドラム2の外周面に当接する。

従って、最下部の錠剤1aがいち早く収容凹部3に収容されてしまうことによってその直上の錠剤1bが落下して、最下部の錠剤1aに対応する収容凹部3のエッジ部3aに当たってしまうことがない。その結果、前記直上の錠剤1bがダメージを受けてしまうといった不具合を防止できる。

また、本実施の形態では、従来技術とは異なり、錠剤1の収容毎に作動するような部材を設けている訳ではなく、ガイド爪11は錠剤充填中においては固定的であるため、ロータリドラム2の回転速度を増大させたとしても、追従不能等の特段の支障が生じる訳ではない。結果として、錠剤1の充填速度を高めることができ、もって生産性の向上を図ることができる。

一方で、錠剤充填の停止に際しては、本実施の形態のガイド爪11が移動させられることで、錠剤供給シュート5の下端開口部が閉鎖される。このため、ガイド爪11が、錠剤充填停止のためのシャッタとしても機能する。従って、ロータリドラム2を停止する等の措置を講じなくても錠剤充填を停止することができる。さらに、ガイド爪11がロータリドラム2の外周円弧に沿って移動可能に設けられているため、ガイド爪11がロータリドラム2から大幅にはみ出してしまったりするのを抑制できる。そのため、錠剤充填装置52全体のコンパクト化を図ることができ、錠剤供給シュート5、半月ガイド部材6等の各種部材をロータリドラム2に対し極力近接した位置に設けることができる。

以上説明した実施の形態において、例えば、次のように構成の一部を適宜変更して実施することも可能である。勿論、以下において例示しない他の変更例も当然可能である。
