【0006】
【0007】
Ltt:
Ltr:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is used as a non-destructive inspection method for an object, and quantitatively determines the depth and size of a defect from the propagation time of an ultrasonic wave that propagates between the transmitting and receiving probes via a defect existing inside the specimen. The present invention relates to an ultrasonic inspection apparatus based on a TOFD method (Time of Flight Diffraction, hereinafter referred to as TOFD method) having a grasping function.
[0002]
[Prior art]
“Guidelines for calibration and setting of ultrasonic TOFD method relating to flaw detection, position and dimension evaluation” regarding the detection, position and dimension measurement of defects in the test specimen is in the British Standard (BS7706) (see Non-Patent Document 1).
[0003]
In the TOFD method, ultrasonic waves are incident on the inside of a structure, and the depth and size are quantified from the propagation time of the diffracted wave generated at the upper and lower ends of the internal reflection source (defect). (For example, refer nonpatent literature 2).
[0004]
FIG. 11 is a diagram illustrating a propagation path of an ultrasonic beam in the TOFD method.
In FIG. 11, 1 is a transmitting probe, 3 is a receiving probe, 5 is a test body, and 7 is a reflection source (defect: D) existing inside the test body. In the TOFD method, ultrasonic waves propagate through the surface of the test body 41 (Ws), the diffracted wave (Wu) from the upper end of the reflection source (defect) 42, and the lower end of the reflection source (defect) 43. There are a diffracted wave (Wl) from the part and a bottom surface reflected wave (Wb) of 44 reflected from the bottom surface of the specimen, and the specimen

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the conventional method, as shown in the development of the equations (1) to (4), the ultrasonic wave is incident on the test body at a fixed point, and the propagation time of the ultrasonic beam is determined by the ultrasonic wave in the probe. The calculation is made on the assumption that the distance is between the incident points even though the measurement is performed between the generation source and the reception source. Originally, the propagation path of the ultrasonic beam between the transmitting and receiving probes is different from the incident point of the surface wave and the incident point of the ultrasonic beam to the reflection source inside the specimen, that is, the incident point is not constant. Also, the propagation time should be considered starting from the transducer that is the ultrasonic wave generation source and reception source in the probe.
The propagation path of the ultrasonic beam changes depending on the position of the reflection source inside the test body. At this time, the transmitted ultrasonic beam enters the test body from the changed position on the surface of the test body and receives the probe from the test body. Is incident on.
Although the propagation time is measured between the ultrasonic wave generation source and the reception source transducer in the probe, the propagation time Tf of the reflected wave from the defect and the surface wave (lateral wave) By using the difference Td from the propagation time Ts, only the difference in propagation time remains between the incident points, and it seems as if the propagation time in the probe has been canceled. The propagation time in the probe is not completely canceled even if the difference Td is used because it differs depending on the ultrasonic wave to the reflection source inside the specimen.
This is obtained by the fact that the propagation time in the probe is not accurately used in the conventional calculation formula and that the change in the position of the incident point leads to the change in the position (depth) of the reflection source. There will be errors in the results.
[0016]
On the other hand, as a general display method in the defect detection stage, there is D scan display which is a method of scanning a pair of probes perpendicular to the beam direction along the defect or weld.
FIG. 14 is an explanatory diagram of a display function in a conventional ultrasonic inspection apparatus using the TOFD method.
FIG. 14 shows an image obtained by calculating the data collected by this scanning method using Equation (4).
In FIG. 14,
[0017]
In the conventional imaging technique in which the propagation time of the wave obtained in this way is displayed on the vertical axis, the vertical axis is the propagation time, so the relationship between the thickness of the specimen and the depth of the defect is proportional. Since they could not be matched, visibility was lacking in evaluating the depth of defects.
[0018]
It is an object of the present invention to provide a high-accuracy ultrasonic inspection apparatus that eliminates conventional errors.
[0019]
Another object of the present invention is to provide an ultrasonic inspection apparatus with excellent visibility.
[0020]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
FIG. 1 is a principle diagram illustrating a function of calculating a reflection source position in the first embodiment.
In the first embodiment, as a method for obtaining the depth d of the reflection source (defect), as shown in FIG. 1, the refraction angle of the probe, the distance between the incident points of the two probes, and the ultrasonic wave propagation A method of calculating depth from time is adopted.
In FIG. 1, 1 is a transmission probe, 2 is a transmission transducer, 3 is a reception probe, 4 is a reception transducer, 5 is a test body, 7 is a reflection source (defect) in the test body, 21 is Horizontal distance (Lo) between the transducer center of the probe and the case tip, 22 is the height (h) from the transducer center to the attachment surface, and 23 is between the
In FIG. 1, the
[0028]
From the relationship shown in FIG. 1, the incident angle αp and the refraction angle θp are expressed by the following equations.
[0029]
[Equation 5]
[0030]
here,
P: Distance between the point directly below the transducer center of the probe on the surface of the specimen and the incident point Px
h: Height from the specimen surface to the center of the transducer of the probe
d: Depth from the specimen surface to the reflection source
L = Lo + Lx,
Lo: Distance from the transducer center to the probe end face
Lx: Horizontal distance from the probe end face to the reflection source position
On the other hand, the following equation (7) is established from Snell's law.
[0031]
[Formula 6]
[0032]
here
Va: Longitudinal wave velocity in the probe attachment
Vt: Longitudinal wave speed of sound in the test body
Substituting equations (5) and (6) into equation (7) yields the following equation (8).
[0033]
[Expression 7]
[0034]
On the other hand, the beam propagation time distance La in the attachment is obtained by the following equation (9).
[0035]
[Equation 8]
[0036]
Further, the beam propagation distance Lt from the incident point to the reflection source is obtained by the following equation (10).
[0037]
[Equation 9]
[0038]
In Expression (10), L is the distance from the center of the vibrator to the reflection source, and d is the depth of the reflection source.
Next, the ultrasonic wave propagation time Ta from the center of the transmission vibrator to the reception vibrator via the reflection source is obtained by the following expression (11).
[0039]
[Expression 10]
[0040]
Substituting Equation (9) and Equation (10) into Equation (11) yields Equation (12) below.
[0041]
[Expression 11]
[0042]
Here, since the equations (8) and (12) are binary and quaternary simultaneous equations of P and d, a solution cannot be obtained by general numerical calculation. Therefore, the value of d when P is changed is obtained from the equation (8), and the propagation time at that time is obtained in advance from the equation (12).
Even if P changes, the refraction angle θp is limited to 90 degrees, and at that time sin θp = 1, and from the equations (5) and (7), the maximum value Pm of P can be expressed by the following equation (13): Holds.
[0043]
[Expression 12]
[0044]
Solve equation (13)
[0045]
[Formula 13]
[0046]
Therefore, if the propagation time Ta when the value of P is changed from 0 to Pm and the depth d to the reflection source are obtained, the depth of the reflection source can be known from the actually measured propagation time.

【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the path from the ultrasonic beam emitted from the transducer in the transmitting probe to the transducer in the receiving probe through the reflection source in the test body is geometrically determined. By calculating strictly from the above equation, the depth and size of the reflection source can be accurately grasped with a small error.
[0077]
Further, according to the present invention, the measurement table for calculating the relationship between the ultrasonic wave propagation time and the reflection source depth in advance and putting it into a table is a pitch unit of display dots of the display device equipped in the ultrasonic flaw detector. By configuring the display dot from the propagation time between the transmission and reception probes detected by an ultrasonic flaw detector, the depth of the reflection source is displayed on a scale proportional to the actual depth, The internal state of the test specimen can be accurately confirmed with good visibility.
