機械式駐車装置の代表的な例としては、多数の車両収納用ケージを建築物内に懸垂装備して、各ケージに車両を載せたまま収納空間に保持し、機械的に地上の出入口から入庫或いは出庫させる垂直循環方式の駐車装置が従来より良く知られている。

本発明は、柱が立設されてエレベータかごの昇降する昇降路が構成され、該昇降路に面して多段階に駐車室が設けられ、該各駐車室は梁で支持されるパレットによって仕切られ、該梁に設けられたパレット受けと前記エレベータかごとの間を前記パレットが搬送されて車両の入出庫が行われる駐車装置において、パレットを支持する梁をロールーフ車用とハイルーフ車用とロールーフ・ハイルーフ車兼用に分け、該ロールーフ・ハイルーフ車兼用の梁を所定間隔毎に配置し、その間には該ロールーフ車用梁とハイルーフ車用梁をそれぞれ異なるピッチ毎に混在させるものである。

本発明は、駐車装置を利用する車両の種類に応じて、パレットを支持する梁を適宜自由に選び分けるものである。
