Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pedal unit assembly structure for application to an automobile.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in the manufacture of automobiles, in order to facilitate assembly work on an assembly line and reduce work man-hours, a plurality of related parts have been unitized and assembled as one assembly. In Europe and the like, a pedal unit is configured by attaching pedals such as a brake pedal and related parts to a bracket, and the pedal unit is already assembled to a dash panel.
[0003]
Here, when assembling this type of pedal unit to the dash panel, the pedal unit is fitted into the opening formed in the dash panel from the outdoor side, and the outer edge of the opening is framed. A steering support having a frame structure that follows is directed from the indoor side to the dash panel, and the bracket of the pedal unit and the steering support are fastened with the outer edge portion of the opening of the dash panel interposed therebetween. .
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the past, since both the pedal unit and the steering support were fastened to each other and assembled at the required height position of the dash panel, the pedal unit and the steering support were fixed only to the dash panel, The dash panel must be strengthened by increasing the thickness of the dash panel to obtain sufficient strength and rigidity against the steering load and vibration input from the steering support, which increases the vehicle weight. There was a problem of being over.
[0005]
Further, when the pedal unit is removed for maintenance or the like, the steering support is also removed together, so that there is a problem that it takes much time to attach and detach the pedal unit to and from the dash panel.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and can obtain sufficient strength and rigidity against steering load and vibration of the steering without increasing the vehicle weight, and the pedal unit can be attached to and detached from the dash panel. An object of the present invention is to provide an easy pedal unit assembly structure.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, a pedal unit is configured by attaching pedals and related parts to a bracket, the pedal unit is fitted into the opening of the dash panel from the outdoor side, and the outer edge of the opening follows a frame shape. A steering support having a frame structure is directed from the indoor side to the dash panel, and the bracket of the pedal unit and the steering support are fastened with the outer edge portion of the opening of the dash panel interposed therebetween, and the lower end of the steering support Is extended to the floor panel, fastened to the front cross under the floor panel, and the upper end of the steering support is fastened to the instrument panel reinforcement.
[0008]
Thus, in this way, the steering support that is the fastening partner sandwiching the dash panel of the pedal unit functions as a framework member that vertically connects the lower floor panel and the upper instrument panel reinforcement. This greatly enhances the body rigidity and steering rigidity, so that the steering load and vibrations of the steering input from the steering support can be shared with the floor panel and instrument panel reinforcement without increasing the thickness of the dash panel. Will be allowed.
[0009]
Also, even if the pedal unit is removed for maintenance, etc., the steering support is maintained in a state where it is fastened to the floor panel and the floor panel and keeps standing at a predetermined position, so that the pedal unit can be easily attached to and detached from the dash panel. Thus, the labor required for the attaching / detaching operation of the pedal unit is greatly reduced.
[0010]
When the present invention is specifically implemented, for example, a brake pedal, a brake valve, a clutch pedal, and a clutch master cylinder are attached to a bracket of a pedal unit, and an accelerator pedal and its link mechanism are attached to a steering support. good.
