従来、厨房で発生する厨芥等は焼却、埋め立てなどの処理を行っている。しかし、厨芥等は野菜屑や残飯を多く含んでおり、水分が多いことからその保管や搬送が面倒であるし、また、腐敗しやすいこともあって、衛生上問題があった。さらに、人口密集地域などの集合住宅では地域環境の向上のため、厨芥などの適切な処理方法の開発が望まれている。

上記目的を達成するために本発明の厨芥処理機は、上部に着脱自在な水切りカゴを持つとともに下部に厨芥粉砕部を有し、前記水切りカゴは底部に通水孔とこの通水孔を開閉する弁を備え、前記水切りカゴの側方より分岐して排水管を導出し、上部の排水・厨芥投入口には着脱自在な蓋を設け、前記排水・厨芥投入口部に厨芥粉砕部の電源スイッチを設け、前記蓋により前記弁と電源スイッチを開閉する構成としたものである。
