【0029】
CR=AR−AG (1)
CB=AB−AG (2)
【0036】
RN=(255/255)×R (3)
GN=(243/255)×G (4)
BN=(231/255)×B (5)
【0045】
Lnew=Lold×(Luser/L255) (8)
Mnew=Mold×(Muser/M255) (9)
Snew=Sold×(Suser/S255) (10)

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a display screen color adjusting device, and more particularly to a display screen color adjusting device for matching a white color balance of a display means.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Systems have been developed that read image information recorded on film and record it as color image data on an information recording medium. In this case, when the image information recorded on the film is converted into digital image data, the color balance is adjusted. As a method for obtaining this color balance, a method for obtaining the white color balance of the display screen is used.
[0003]
As a method of balancing this white color, on the black body radiation locus (when a certain object is heated, the emission color changes from red → orange → yellow → white → blue. This route is called the black body radiation locus) There are a method of moving to an appropriate position and a method of specifying the value of the chromaticity coordinate value.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, although it is possible to match the colorimetric chromaticity coordinates of the display means (for example, CRT) itself, the white chromaticity point of the CRT environment is ignored. If they do not exist on the black radiation locus, they cannot be matched, and even if the color is reproduced by directly specifying the chromaticity coordinates, it is different from the chromaticity point of the observation environment. In other words, white color displayed on a self-luminous CRT may appear differently when color reproduction is performed under sunlight and when color reproduction is performed under fluorescent light.
[0005]
For this reason, the observer may not recognize white displayed on the self-luminous CRT as white. As a typical case, when observed under a fluorescent lamp, the color of the CRT not only looks yellow or blue (that is, due to a difference in color temperature), but may appear pink.
[0006]
When the color is strictly observed on the self-luminous CRT monitor, the difference between the environment and the white point is large, and the user cannot trust the color on the CRT monitor. Although the CRT itself can have a physically accurate chromaticity coordinate white, the environment for observing it is not fixed, but varies depending on the external color, etc. It was difficult to measure the chromaticity point.
[0007]
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and provides a color adjustment device for a display screen that can display an optimal color image according to an observation environment even when the observation environment changes. It is aimed.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
(1) The present invention for solving the above-described problems is a display screen color adjustment device for displaying a color image, and a color for displaying a plurality of achromatic color charts on the display means. A vote output means; a selection means for selecting a color chart as one of a plurality of color charts displayed on the display means; and a display screen of the display means based on the color chart selected by the selection means. And a light emission intensity adjusting means for adjusting the light emission intensity.
[0009]
The present invention has been made with a focus on the point that the user will be satisfied if the user can finally select white that seems to be correct.
According to the configuration of the present invention, a plurality of white colors are displayed as color charts on the display means, and only one color chart that the user thinks is most likely to be white is selected by the selection means. When the white color chart is obtained, the light intensity adjustment means adjusts the light intensity of the display screen based on the selected color chart, so that even if the observation environment changes, the optimum color image is displayed. can do.
[0010]
(2) In this case, the image information reading means for reading the image information from the film, the storage means for storing the image data read from the film by the preliminary scan by the image information reading means, and the light emission intensity adjusting means A means for displaying the image data stored in the storage means is added to the display means whose emission intensity is adjusted.
[0011]
According to the configuration of the present invention, the image recorded on the film can be displayed on the display means with good color balance.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the operation principle of the present invention. In the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, a first step S1 for displaying a plurality of color charts near achromatic colors on the display screen, and a second step S2 for selecting one color chart from among them are selected. It is comprised from S3 which adjusts the emitted light intensity of a display screen based on a color chart. By adopting such a method, a plurality of white colors are displayed on the display screen as color charts, and only one color chart that the user seems to be white is selected from among them, which seems most preferable. When the white color chart is obtained, the optimal color image can be displayed according to the observation environment by adjusting the light emission intensity of the display screen based on the selected color chart even if the observation environment changes.

Reference numeral 5 denotes an image compression means (12 → 8-bit conversion unit) that receives the output of the MTF correction unit 4 and compresses 12-bit data into 8-bit data. For example, a logarithmic conversion LUT is used. Reference numeral 6 denotes a frame memory for storing the output of the 12 → 8-bit conversion unit 5. The capacity of the frame memory 6 is, for example, about 2048 × 3072 dots. Reference numeral 7 denotes a histogram creation unit that reads R, G, and B image data stored in the frame memory 6 and creates a histogram for each of R, G, and B.

The histogram creation unit 7 designates a plurality of points to be gray that are designated as operations for reading out the R, G, B image data of the designated points of the frame image data stored in the frame memory 6 and designates R. , G, B image data is read out and a histogram is created. FIG. 4 is a diagram showing how a histogram is created. For each of R, G, and B, the vertical axis represents the appearance frequency of the image data value, and the horizontal axis represents the gradation (for example, 0 to 255) of the image data. Here, lines are drawn so that the left and right areas S1 and S2 of these histograms are equal, and the value at that point is set to the median value.

In this example, the numbers R, G, and B in the figure indicate examples of combinations of image data (0 to 255), and the upper left is green, the upper right is blue, the lower left is yellow, and the lower right is pink. . R, G, and B data are described in part of the color chart in the figure, but they do not appear in the actual display and are shown for reference. The operator operates the

In addition, by using a self-luminous color liquid crystal panel as the display 12, it is possible to correct the fluctuation of the self-luminous color liquid crystal panel. The color of the liquid crystal panel changes depending on the viewing angle, but according to this embodiment, the appearance due to the angle can also be corrected.

In the above-described embodiment, the case where the
[0040]
For example, assuming von Kries type adaptation, it is once converted into tristimulus values (L, M, S) at the human retina level, where they are balanced, and then returned to R, G, B values. You can also take a method. First, three values (X, Y, Z) are obtained by the following expressions.
[0041]
[Expression 1]
[0042]
Next, tristimulus values (L, M, S) are obtained by the following equation based on the (X, Y, Z) values obtained by the equation (6).
[0043]
[Expression 2]
[0044]
From equation (7), L255, M255, and S255 corresponding to conventional R255, G255, and B255 are obtained, and similarly, Luzer, User, and User corresponding to User, User, and Buser selected by the operator are obtained. When values corresponding to arbitrary R, G, and B are defined as Rold, Gold, and Bold, the following equation is obtained.
[0045]
Lnew = Lold × (Luser / L255) (8)
Mnew = Mold × (Muser / M255) (9)
Snew = Sold × (Suser / S255) (10)
From this, by solving the equations (7) and (6) in reverse, Rnew, Gnew, and Bnew, which are RGB values considering adaptation, can be obtained. If this calculation is performed on the combination of R, G, and B and replaced with the output of a three-dimensional LUT, image color conversion can be performed at high speed. According to this embodiment, since human color adaptation is taken into consideration, a natural color balance can be obtained not only for the white system but also for other colors.
[0046]
In the above-described embodiment, the case where the operator selects a favorite white using a two-dimensional color chart as shown in FIG. 6 as a color chart is taken as an example, but the present invention is not limited to this. . For example, a one-dimensional color chart that is substantially perpendicular to the blackbody radiation locus is displayed on the display 12 as shown in FIG. 7, and then the operator selects the color chart that seems to be optimal and causes the above calculation to be performed. It may be. In this case, it is linked with the color temperature adjustment function of the CRT. That is, first, the color temperature point that feels most white is searched using the adjustment function of the CRT, and then the most white color is selected from the color chart. According to this embodiment, selection within the screen display is facilitated by combining the color temperature adjustment of the CRT and the adjustment of the digital system.
[0047]
【The invention's effect】
As explained in detail above,
(1) According to the present invention, in the color adjustment device for a display screen, display means for displaying a color image, and color chart output means for displaying color charts of a plurality of achromatic colors on the display means. Selecting a color chart as one of a plurality of color charts displayed on the display means, and adjusting the emission intensity of the display screen of the display means based on the color chart selected by the selection means A plurality of white colors as color charts on the display means, and the user selects only one color chart that seems to be white by the selection means. When a white color chart that seems to be preferable is found, the emission intensity adjustment means adjusts the emission intensity of the display screen based on the selected color chart, so that even if the observation environment changes, the optimum color will be obtained according to the observation environment. The image can be displayed Kill.
[0048]
(2) In this case, the image information reading means for reading the image information from the film, the storage means for storing the image data read from the film by the preliminary scan by the image information reading means, and the light emission intensity adjusting means By adding means for displaying the image data stored in the storage means to the display means whose emission intensity has been adjusted, the image recorded on the film can be displayed on the display means with good color balance. .
[0049]
(3) In this case, the fluctuation of the CRT can be corrected by using a self-luminous color CRT as the display means.
{Circle around (4)} By using a self-luminous color liquid crystal panel as the display means, it is possible to correct the wobbling of the self-luminous color liquid crystal panel and to correct the appearance due to the angle.
[0050]
(5) Further, the light emission intensity adjusting means can shorten the time required for processing by adjusting the gain of the display means.
(6) Further, the light emission intensity adjusting means changes the data in the table for storing the data to be given to the display means, so that it does not calculate digitally every time and writes the data in the table in advance. Shortened.
[0051]
(7) Further, the light emission intensity adjusting means obtains the data to be given to the display means by matrix calculation, so that human color adaptation is taken into consideration, so that there is a natural color balance not only for the white system but also for other colors. can get.
[0052]
(8) Further, the display means displays a plurality of color charts that are changed along the black body radiation locus and at positions substantially orthogonal to the chromaticity diagram, and the selection means displays one color chart among them. By selecting, the color temperature adjustment of the CRT and the adjustment of the digital system are combined to facilitate selection within the screen display.
[0053]
Thus, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide a color adjustment device for a display screen that can display an optimal color image according to the observation environment even if the observation environment changes.
