Description
【0001】
【0018】
Ri'=Ri/255 ・・・(1)
If Ri'≦0.03928
Rl=Ri'/12.92 ・・・(2)
If Ri>0.03928
Rl=((Ri'+0.055)/1.055)2.4 ・・・(3)
【0026】
h=tan-1(b/a) ・・・(5)
Φ=tan-1((L-L0)/C) ・・・(6)
k=√{C2+(L-L0)2} ・・・(7)
C=√(a2+b2) ・・・(8)
【0029】
Li'=(Li−Lbi)/(Lwi−Lbi)x100 ・・・(9)
【0031】
Lo'=Lo x (Lwo−Lbo)/100 + Lbo ・・・(10)
【0034】
P=((ΔE(Pi,P0)+S)/ΔE(Pi,P0))(Pi-P0) ・・・(11)
【0035】
T1=[L1,a1,b1]、T2=[L2,a2,b2]
【0036】
S=S+ΔS ・・・(13)
【0038】
S=S-ΔS ・・・(14)
【0040】
Si≦0.8xS2 の時
So=Si ・・・(15)
Si>0.8xS2 の時
So=(0.2xS2)/((S1-(0.8xS2))x(Si−0.8xS2)+0.8xS2 ・・・(16)
【0041】
Po=(So/S2)xP2+((S2-So)/S2)xP0S2 ・・・(17)以上説明したようにガマットマッピング部102においては、標準照明下における標準ディスプレイの色再現範囲と観察照明下におけるディスプレイ104の色再現範囲の違いを吸収し、等色相面において、明度と彩度を圧縮することにより、両者のアピアランスの差が小さくなるように入力画像を変換する。
【0042】
【0048】
【0049】
If Rl'≦0.00304
Rd=Rl'x12.92x255 ・・・(19)
If Rl'>0.00304
Rd=(1.055xRl'1.0/2.4-0.055)x255 ・・・(20)
【0055】
Xd=Xe-X0
Yd=Ye-Y0 ・・・(21)
Zd=Ze-Z0

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus for performing color conversion for display on an input color image, andImage processingMethod
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, with the rapid development of color DTP and the Internet, there has been a strong demand for accurate color reproduction of color images, and the device-dependent color of image data is controlled and managed uniformly among multiple devices. It became necessary.
[0003]
A standard color space sRGB (IEC 61966-2-1) that constitutes color image data has been proposed as one of the methods for realizing accurate color reproduction of color image data in a plurality of devices connected via the Internet. Correspondence between RGB color signals and colorimetric values and image viewing conditions are standardized. The color image based on the standard color space sRGB is expected to be reproduced with the same appearance as the image displayed on the standard display under the specified viewing conditions.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The standard color space sRGB described above is established based on the characteristics of an average CRT display, but the correspondence relationship with the colorimetric values is premised on the dark. That is, since no consideration is given to the tube reflection light of the display, there is a problem that when tube reflection occurs in the display, an image cannot be displayed with the color intended by the above standard.
[0005]
In fact, the sRGB color space defines an ambient illumination level of 64 lux, which is much darker than the typical display viewing environment. Under 500 lux lighting, the color appearance in the dark area is significantly different from that under standard lighting, especially due to the effect of display surface reflection.
[0006]
As a method for correcting the color of a display display image according to illumination, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-214787 has been reported. This corresponds to a phenomenon in which the appearance of a printed material as an input image changes due to illumination. However, the phenomenon that the color of the image displayed on the display changes is not taken into consideration.
[0007]
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems. When a color image intended to be observed under standard illumination is displayed on a display under observation illumination, the color appearance of the display image ( An image processing apparatus for controlling the appearance to be equivalent to a display image under standard illumination, andImage processingIt aims to provide a method.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
As a means for achieving the above object, an image processing apparatus of the present invention comprises the following arrangement.

That is, the input color signal is converted into a uniform color space.colorsignalInUniform color space conversion means for conversion;
The maximum brightness of the color reproduction range under standard illumination is mapped to the maximum brightness of the color reproduction range under observation illumination, and the minimum brightness of the color reproduction range under standard illumination is mapped to the minimum brightness of the color reproduction range under observation illumination As described above, using the color reproduction range under the standard illumination and the color reproduction range under the observation illumination,Uniform color spaceColorSignalSaidObservationilluminationBelow color reproduction rangeInsideMapping means for mapping to,

As described above, the input color image signal [Ri, Gi, Bi] is intended to be displayed on a standard display under standard illumination, but the signal is converted into [Rd, Gd by the above processing. , Bd] can be reproduced with the same color appearance as the originally intended image even when displayed on a display having color reproduction characteristics different from the standard under actual observation illumination. .
[0016]
FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating an example of a detailed configuration of the uniform color
[0017]
Since the color signal of an image based on sRGB is intended to be displayed on a standard display having gamma characteristics, it is corrected in advance so as to have inverse gamma characteristics so that appropriate brightness can be obtained when displayed on the standard display. Has been. The input color signal [Ri, Gi, Bi] is converted into a color signal [Rl, Gl, Bl] linear to the display luminance value of the display by the following equations (1), (2), (3). In addition, although the example of R component is shown to Formula (1)-(3), it is the same also about G and B component.

The coordinates (Lab) of the CIE / L * a * b * color space can be converted into the coordinates (h, Φ, k) of the hΦk color space by the following expression.
[0026]
h = tan-1(b / a) (5)
Φ = tan-1((L-L0) / C) (6)
k = √ {C2 + (L-L0)2} ・ ・ ・ (7)
However,
The coordinates of P ’are [L0, 0.0, 0.0]
C = √ (a2+ b2(8)
By obtaining the hΦk coordinate of an arbitrary color signal P in the CIE / L * a * b * color space using the above conversion equation, it is possible to determine whether the point P is in the color gamut or out of the color gamut. If the k value (kp) of the point P (hp, Φp, kp) is smaller than the k value obtained from the color gamut information, the point P is in the color gamut and the k value obtained from the color gamut information is obtained. Is also larger, the point P is out of the color gamut.

ΔE (T1,T2) = √ {(L1-L2)2+ (a1-a2)2+ (b1-b2)2} (12)
S is a variable and the initial value is 0. In step S1102, based on the color gamut information stored in the input color gamut holding unit 304, the color signal vector.P0+PIs within the color gamut of the standard display under standard illumination, and if it is within the color gamut, the process proceeds to step S1103, and if it is out of the color gamut, the process proceeds to step S1105. In step S1103, the color signal vectorP0+PThe color signal vector variablePpAnd proceed to step S1104. In step S1104, the variable S is updated by the following equation, and the process proceeds to step S1101.

An example of the procedure for obtaining the output range is shown in the flowchart of FIG. This shows step S404 in FIG. 4 in detail. In step S1201, the input color signal vector stored in the input color
[0038]
S = S-ΔS (14)
Here, ΔS is a predetermined step constant, and if ΔS is reduced, the output range can be obtained more accurately. In step S1204, the color signal vector is expressed by equation (11).PAsk for. In step S1205, based on the color gamut information stored in the output color
[0039]
With reference to FIG. 13, an example of a color signal conversion method performed by the output color signal calculation unit 310 will be described. This shows step S405 in FIG. 4 in detail. In FIG. 13, the horizontal axis is the input value, the vertical axis is the output value, S1 is the distance between the compression fixed point P0 and the end point P1 of the input range, S2 is the distance between P0 and the end point P2 of the output range, and Si Represents the distance between P0 and the input color signal Pi, and So represents the distance between P0 and the output color signal Po after conversion. In the input / output conversion of FIG. 13, up to 80% of the output range S2 is output as it is, and values beyond that are linearly compressed and output. That is, So is obtained by the equations (15) and (16) using the value of Si.

When Si≤0.8xS2
So = Si (15)
When Si> 0.8xS2
So = (0.2xS2) / ((S1- (0.8xS2)) x (Si-0.8xS2) + 0.8xS2 (16)
In addition, the output color signal vectorPo[Lo, ao, bo] is obtained by the following equation using So and S2.

[0057]
Furthermore, by absorbing the difference in the color reproduction range between the standard illumination and the observation illumination, the color signal is also displayed when the input image intended to be reproduced under the standard illumination is displayed under the observation illumination. Can be converted to be equivalent to the appearance under standard illumination.
[0058]
Therefore, the appearance of the display image under observation illumination can be made equal to that under standard illumination.
[0059]
<Other embodiments>
In the above-described embodiment, the example in which the black level (tristimulus value) under observation illumination is actually measured with the radiance meter has been described. However, the black level under general illumination is stored in the monitor profile 504 in advance. Alternatively, the user may select one condition most suitable for the observation environment from this list. For example, the black level under general illumination (for example, 500 lx, 1000 lx, 1500 lx, 2000 lx for high color rendering daylight white fluorescent lamp (5000K) and white fluorescent lamp (4200K)) is stored.

[0061]
Thus, by storing predetermined illumination conditions in advance, it is possible to set a black level corresponding to the observation environment without using an expensive luminance meter.
[0062]
In addition, a reference document for checking the black level is prepared in advance, and for each of the black levels under the above-mentioned plurality of illumination conditions, the black level is set by selecting the one that most closely matches the reference document. [0067]
In this case, the program code itself read from the storage medium realizes the functions of the above-described embodiments, and the storage medium storing the program code constitutes the present invention.
