2. Description of the Related Art Most of hair bundles used for calligraphy and painting brushes, work-painting brushes, paint brushes, makeup brushes for manicure application, etc. are made of animal hair. Pigs, raccoons, weasels, goats, and foxes are used as animal hair. The hair bundle composed of this animal hair is produced by inserting the animal hair into a tube having a constant thickness, tying the ends with a thread, and then heating the end surface to make the lengths uniform.

However, as shown in FIG.
As shown in FIG.
Have the problems that there is almost no gap between the animal hairs 50a, and the gap between the voids is low and the void ratio is low. A hair bundle having a low porosity is unlikely to cause a capillary phenomenon when immersed in a liquid, so that the amount of liquid that can be held becomes small. For this reason, when such a hair bundle is used, it is necessary to frequently supply the liquid at the time of writing or painting, which is complicated. Moreover, since the number of types of liquid material that can be impregnated is reduced, the hair bundle having a low porosity is limited to a certain use. Furthermore, animal hair varies in thickness depending on animal species and individual differences, and the pressure when inserting animal hair into a cylinder tends to fluctuate. Therefore, even the tip of the same size usually has different hair amount. Further, animal hair has become difficult to obtain in recent years due to restrictions on the capture place and type. Further, a brush made of animal hair has a drawback that its storage rate is lowered due to worm eating and the life of the brush and the brush itself is short.

On the other hand, writing brushes using a bundle of synthetic fibers (polyester fibers) each having a tapered tip and a combination of animal hair are sold. This hair bundle is
By inserting the synthetic fiber with a thin tapered tip in advance or this synthetic fiber and animal hair into a tube with a certain thickness, tying the end with a thread, heating this end face and aligning the length It is made. Therefore, in such a hair bundle, the synthetic fibers alone or the synthetic fibers and the animal hair are arranged in the closest arrangement like the hair bundle consisting of only animal hair, and the porosity is low. And there is a problem that there are few kinds.
Further, since the hair bundle is manually produced, it is difficult to keep the quality of the hair bundle constant, which requires skill.

In each of the hair bundles A to C, the area ratio of the synthetic fiber non-existing region within the region defined by the base portion size (base portion diameter) of each hair portion 2 is set according to the purpose of use. The area ratio is set to 30% to 85%. Here, the purpose of use is defined to include the type of brush or brush for which the hair bundle is used, what to use for calligraphy, painting, stencil, and the type of liquid material used. Hair bundle A shown in FIG. 3 and FIG.
In the case of the hair bundle B shown in (1), the area defined by the base portion size of each hair portion 2 coincides with the flat surface portion 4 of the base 3. The flat surface portion 4 of the base 3 may be larger than the area defined by the base portion size of the bristle portion 2 (see FIG. 16).

However, in the hair bundle of the present invention, the type of the synthetic fiber 1 may be one type or two or more types. For example, a thermoplastic synthetic fiber can be mentioned, and it can be formed from one kind or two or more kinds selected from the thermoplastic synthetic resins described below. Examples of thermoplastic synthetic resins include polyester synthetic resins (polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, etc.), polyamide synthetic resins (6,6-nylon, 6-nylon, 6,10-nylon, 6,12-).
Nylon, etc., polyolefin synthetic resin (polyethylene, polypropylene etc.), polyurethane synthetic resin, polyacrylonitrile synthetic resin (polyacrylonitrile, acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer, etc.) You can Above all, it is preferable to form one or two or more selected from a polyester synthetic resin, a polyamide synthetic resin and a polyacrylonitrile synthetic resin. In particular, a hair bundle mainly composed of polyester synthetic fibers can have higher flexibility than a hair bundle composed of polyamide synthetic fibers.

The synthetic fiber 1 used in the hair bundle of the present invention may have a cross-sectional shape of a circle, an ellipse, a clover shape or a star shape. Further, in FIG. 2, the synthetic fiber 1 has a linear vertical cross-sectional shape, but the surface may be uneven so that the vertical cross-sectional shape is, for example, a crimp shape (wavy). When the synthetic fiber 1 having a cross-sectional shape that is an irregular shape such as a clover shape or a star shape is used, or if the surface of the synthetic fiber 1 is made uneven, the amount of the liquid material held in the hair bundle can be improved. The shape of the synthetic fibers 1 included in the hair bundle may be unified into one kind, but the hair bundle may be formed from two or more kinds of synthetic fibers 1 having different shapes.

The thickness (diameter) of the synthetic fiber 1 is 0.0
It is preferable to set in the range of 3 mm to 0.70 mm. Here, the thickness of the synthetic fiber is the thickness of a portion that is not tapered. The hair bundle may be formed from synthetic fibers 1 having the same thickness, but may be formed from synthetic fibers having different thicknesses. In particular, it is preferable that the thickness of the synthetic fibers 1 in the vicinity of the center of the hair bundle is thicker than that of the synthetic fibers 1 in the outer periphery because the hair bundle (brush portion) becomes stronger.
This will be described later in detail.

Further, in the hair bundle of the present invention, the area ratio of the synthetic fiber non-existing region within the region defined by the base size of the hair portion 2 is
Although it has been described that the area ratio is set to 30% to 85%, the above area ratio may be variously changed depending on the type of the brush or brush, the hardness of the waist of the bristle portion 2, the purpose of use, and the like. However, if the area ratio of the synthetic fiber non-existing region is less than 30%, it is difficult to improve the liquid substance retention of the hair bundle. Further, when the area ratio of the above region exceeds 85%, the gaps between the synthetic fibers, between the fiber bundles, and between the fibers and the fiber bundles become large, and the capillary phenomenon is less likely to occur, so that it is difficult to obtain excellent liquid substance retention. Become. Therefore, the area ratio of the synthetic fiber nonexisting region is preferably set to 30% or more and 85% or less. A more preferable range is 50% to 80%, and a further preferable range is 55% to 75%. At this time, for example, when the hair bundle shown in FIG. 1 is used for calligraphy, the area ratio of the synthetic fiber non-existing region is 30% to
80%, preferably 35% to 70%,
More preferably, it is 38% to 50%.

Further, the sizes of the gaps between the synthetic fibers 1 and 1 on the base 3, the gaps between the synthetic fiber bundles 5 and 5, and the gaps between the synthetic fibers 1 and the synthetic fiber bundle 5 are such that the hair bundles are made of a liquid material. It is preferable to set the capillarity so that it rapidly occurs when it is dipped in. The sizes of the gaps may all be the same, but may be changed in two or more steps.

As described above, by forming the fluid outflow gap formed by the through hole 15 and / or the slit 16 in the base 3, the hair bundle B can be used for a brush of a type in which a liquid substance is stored in the shaft portion.
Is used, the liquid substance in the shaft portion is removed from the through hole 15 of the base 3 and / or
Alternatively, it can be smoothly and sufficiently supplied to the bristle portion 2 through the slit 16. At this time, it is preferable that the ratio of the fluid outflow voids (fluid outflow void ratio) in the flat surface portion 4 of the base 3 corresponds to the composition and concentration of the liquid material (for example, ink). In the hair bundle shown in FIG. 16, the flat portion 4 of the base 3 is larger than the area defined by the base dimension of the bristle portion 2. However, the flat portion 4 is the base dimension of the bristle portion 2. It may be equal to the specified area. Further, by omitting the synthetic fiber bundle 5 at the center of the hair bundle B and providing the through hole 15 therein, the hair bundle B can be used for a brush of a type in which a liquid substance is stored in the shaft portion.
When using, the relay core for supplying the liquid substance in the shaft portion to the bristle portion 2 can be inserted into the through hole 15.

According to the manufacturing method of the hair bundle by such a (coil winding) winding method, even if a large number of through holes 7 ... Are formed in the fiber positioning member 6, the through hole 7 at the center thereof has a "life". A bundle of thick synthetic fibers, which becomes "hair", can be arranged easily and reliably. That is, it is possible to easily and surely obtain a hair bundle in which "life hair" is located at the center,
The hair bundle can be easily adapted to the size of the brush. Further, the fiber positioning member 6 can be manufactured more easily, and the mutual distance L between the through holes 7 can be easily set, as compared with the process of forming a large number of through holes in the plate material at small intervals. Further, the diameter of the through hole 7 can be easily changed by adjusting the strength of the winding pressure of the flexible thin plate member 19, and the through holes 7 having different diameters can be mixed. Also,
The area ratio of the synthetic fiber non-existing region in the region defined by the base portion size of the bristles is changed by changing the wall thickness of the flexible thin plate member 19 or the number of corrugated portions, or the structure itself of the flexible thin plate member 19. By changing the number or position of the synthetic fiber bundles G without changing the number, or by loosening the winding pressure of the wound flexible thin plate member 19 to increase the interval between the synthetic fiber bundles G, G. Can be adjusted. As a result, for example, a hair bundle suitable for use with a highly viscous paint can be obtained.

As is clear from Table 1, the area of the synthetic fiber non-existence ratio in the region defined by the base size is 30%.
The area ratio of the hair bundles of Examples 1 to 9 is 30%.
It can be seen that the content of the watercolor paint is higher than that of the hair bundles of Comparative Examples 1 and 2 which are smaller. Further, when a hair bundle prepared in the same manner as in Examples 1 and 2 was used as a stencil brush, except that the tapering process was not performed, it was possible to include a sufficient amount of paint with a single liquid supply, The feeling of use for the metal net was good. On the other hand, the hair bundle of Example 7 obtained by a method in which the thickness of the synthetic fiber inserted into the through hole at the center of the positioning plate of the positioning member is made thicker than the synthetic fiber inserted into the through hole on the outer peripheral side is Since the area near the center is harder than the area around the outer edge, a good writing feeling was obtained, which was a sensation when writing.
