Abstract
【解決手段】アダプタは、第2ポートと軸方向に整列した第1ポートを画定する金属製ハウジングを具備する。各ポートは、筒状フェルールを有する各光プラグを受容するよう構成される。ポート間に設けられた接合部は、第1ポートに隣接する第1端及び第2ポートに隣接する第2端を有する。接合部は、ポート間に軸方向の筒状通路を画定する。接合部の第1端は内側に延びる突条部を有し、第1端における通路の直径を制限する。通路内に整列スリーブが配置される。整列スリーブは、フェルール内に収容されるファイバを光結合するために、各光プラグのフェルールを受容し軸方向に整列させる内径を有する。接合部は金属製ハウジングと一体成形され、接合部の第2端に端キャップが固定される。端キャップは、内側に延びて第2端で通路の直径を制限する突条部を有し、整列スリーブを通路内に固定する。

Claims (3)
- 2個のプラグを嵌合させるアダプタであって、第2ポート(103)と軸方向に整列した第1ポート(102)を画定する金属製ハウジング(101)を具備し、前記ポート(102,103)の各々は、筒状フェルールを有する各光コネクタプラグを受容するよう構成され、前記ポート(102,103)間に設けられた接合部(104)が、前記第1ポートに隣接する第1端(104a)及び前記第2ポート(103)に隣接する第2端(104b)を有し、前記接合部(104)は、前記ポート(102,103)間に軸方向の筒状通路(105)を画定し、前記接合部(104)の第1端(104a)は内側に延びる突条部(106)を有することにより、前記第1端(104a)における前記通路(105)の直径を制限し、前記通路(105)内に整列スリーブ(107)が配置され、該整列スリーブは、前記フェルール内に収容されるファイバを光結合するために、前記光コネクタプラグの各々の前記フェルールを受容し該フェルールを軸方向に整列させるのに適する内径を有するアダプタにおいて、
前記接合部(104)は前記金属製ハウジング(101)と一体成形され、
前記接合部の前記第2端(104b)に端キャップ(108)が固定され、
該端キャップは、内側に延びて前記第2端(104b)で前記通路(105)の直径を制限する突条部(202)を有することにより、前記整列スリーブ(107)を前記通路(105)内に固定することを特徴とするアダプタ。 - 前記接合部(104)は筒状をなし、外表面及び内表面を画定し、

前記内表面及び前記第2端(104b)は環状凹部(109)を画定して前記端キャップ(108)の壁部(201)を受容することを特徴とする請求項1記載のアダプタ。 - 前記接合部(104)の前記第2端(104b)の一部は内側に突出して前記端キャップ(108)を保持することを特徴とする請求項2記載のアダプタ。
