As this type of discharge tube, the present applicant has previously proposed Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-7420. As shown in FIG. 5, the

The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and an object thereof is to realize a discharge tube having excellent frequency characteristics.
As a result of various investigations on the surface shape of the discharge electrode, the inventors of the present invention formed a recess on the surface of the discharge electrode and formed a coating containing a substance with good electron emission characteristics on the inner surface of the recess. In addition, the present inventors have found that a discharge tube having excellent frequency characteristics can be realized, and have completed the present invention.
That is, a discharge tube according to the present invention is a discharge tube in which a plurality of discharge electrodes are arranged with a discharge gap and sealed together with a discharge gas in an airtight envelope. And a film containing a substance having good electron emission characteristics is formed on the inner surface of the recess.
A number of holes may be formed on the inner surface of the recess, and the coating may be formed on the inner surface of the recess and the hole.
The above film containing a substance having good electron emission characteristics can be composed of, for example, a film containing a mixture of cesium bromide and titanium. In this case, the mixing ratio of cesium bromide and titanium is preferably 20 to 80% by weight for cesium bromide and 80 to 20% by weight for titanium.
In the discharge tube according to the present invention, a concave portion is formed on the surface of the discharge electrode, and a coating containing a substance having a good electron emission characteristic is formed on the inner surface of the concave portion, so that it can be operated repeatedly in a short cycle. Even in this case, it is possible to realize a discharge tube excellent in frequency characteristics that can always obtain a stable discharge start voltage.
In addition, when a large number of holes are formed in the inner surface of the recess of the discharge electrode, and a coating is formed on the inner surface of the recess and the hole, the adhesion between the coating and the discharge electrode is improved, and the coating is sputtered by an impact during discharge. Is suppressed. As a result, the change in the work function of the coating due to sputtering can be prevented, and the initial discharge delay can be suppressed.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a

In this case, the mixing ratio of cesium bromide and titanium is preferably 20 to 80% by weight for cesium bromide and 80 to 20% by weight for titanium.
The mixture ratio of the cesium bromide and titanium and the binder is such that the mixture of cesium bromide and titanium is 0.01 to 40% by weight and the binder is 99.99 to 60% by weight.
The mixing ratio of the sodium silicate solution and pure water in the binder is such that the sodium silicate solution is 0.01 to 70% by weight and the pure water is 99.99 to 30% by weight.

In the
Thus, in the
That is, when the
FIG. 3 is a chart showing the transition of the discharge start voltage when the
The blending ratio of the mixture of cesium bromide and titanium (4 g) and the binder (20 g) is 1: 5 by weight.
As shown in the chart of FIG. 3, the
In the
As a result, the occurrence of early firing and continuation is suppressed, and it is considered that discharge can be stably generated at a specified voltage (800 V in the case of FIG. 3) even when it is repeatedly operated in a short cycle.
