開発努力が成されている。

る端部の反対側であり,その部分は第6図の光学システ
ム33の計測装置と光学的に通信可能に構成されている。
光学システム33は異なった波長帯域の3つの光源を含ん
でおり,測定されるべき各々のパラメータは一つの光源
に対応させられている。

Claims (26)
- 【請求項1】測定システムであって、 第1および第2の端部を持つある長さの光ファイバ伝送
媒体と、 前記媒体の第1の端部に支持されている1つのセンサで
あって,そのセンサは、光学的に透明な高分子弾性材料
であり,前記媒体の端部から曲面の表面を持ち,その曲
面がそれに加えられた圧力により,押されて変化するこ
とによって特徴づけられている光学的に透明な弾性高分
子材料と、可撓性の光学反射材料であって,少なくとも
前記曲面の一部に設けられ,そして前記媒体と光学的に
通信連絡するものである可撓性光学反射材料層とを含
み、 前記伝送媒体の前記第2の端部から前記反射層に向けて
光学的な放射を送出し,これにより,少なくとも,前記
光学放射の一部を前記層により前記媒体に前記第2の端
部方向へ戻す手段と、 前記媒体の第2端に設けられており,前記反射された放
射のレベルを検出し,これにより,前記反射層の変位を
計測し,そして前記センサに加えられた力,また圧力を
決定するための手段と、 から構成した測定システム。 - 【請求項2】請求項1記載の測定システムであって、 前記媒体の第2の端部にその放射送出手段から前記第2
の端部に入射する放射光のレベルを検出するための手段
と、 前記媒体を介して放射される光のレベルと前記媒体を介
して反射されてきたレベルとを前記媒体の第2の端部に
おいて比較するための手段とを付加的にさらに設けた測
定システム。 - 【請求項3】請求項1記載の測定システムにおいて、前
記センサの高弾性高分子材料の曲面は凸形であり、前記
高弾性高分子材料は前記媒体の第1の端に付着させられ
ているものである測定システム。 - 【請求項4】請求項3記載の測定システムにおいて,前
記媒体は1本の光ファイバである測定システム。 - 【請求項5】請求項4記載のシステムにおいて、前記反
射材料は,円形の形状をしており,前記1本の光ファイ
バの長手方向の軸に対して実質的に対象になるように位
置させられており,前記第2端から見たときの光ファイ
バの視野の一部を専有するものであり、変位,力または
圧力と異なるパラメータに応答してその検出されるべき
光学的特性が変わるものであり,前記光ファイバの視野
で前記視野と重ならない部分に配置されている材料をも
つシステム。 - 【請求項6】請求項5記載のシステムにおいて、前記変
化するパラメータは温度である計測システム。 - 【請求項7】請求項6記載のシステムにおいて,前記材
料の部分にはルミネッセンス材料が含まれるシステム。 - 【請求項8】請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、前記セ
ンサの反射材料層は,前記媒体の第2端から見たときの
視野の一部を専有する一定の領域内に位置させられてお
り,そして前記視野の一部とは重ならない部分におい
て,前記センサの一部として位置させられているある量
の材料は変位と力と圧力とは異なる変化するパラメータ
に応答して検出可能な光学的特性変化をするものであ
り,ここにおいて、前記システムは付加的に前記媒体の
第2の端部において前記光学的に検出可能な特性変化を
前記変位の検出と同時に検出する手段をさらに備えてい
るシステム。 - 【請求項9】請求項8記載のシステムにおいて,前記パ
ラメータは温度であるシステム。 - 【請求項10】請求項8記載のシステムにおいて、前記
光放射伝達手段は,前記放射を第1の波長領域に制限す
るための手段を含み、さらに前記光学特性検出手段は,
前記第1の波長レンジと実質的に重なり合わない波長の
レンジにおいて,前記媒体の上の他のパラメータの材料
の部分と通信連絡する手段を含み,前記光学的特性を検
出するものであるシステム。 - 【請求項11】請求項8記載のシステムにおいて、前記
材料の部分はルミネッセンス材料を含む計測システム。 - 【請求項12】請求項8記載のシステムにおいて、前記
センサの弾性高分子材料の曲面は,凸曲面であり,前記
弾性高分子材料は前記第1の媒体の第1の端部に固定的
に付着されているシステム。 - 【請求項13】請求項9記載のシステムにおいて,前記
他の材料はさらに赤外のレンジの放射に対しては,実質
的に,透明であるという特徴を持ち,さらに弾性高分子
材料から除かれた前記材料部分によって,赤外線吸収層
が設けられ,さらに前記媒体の第2の端部で前記媒体に
沿って前記センサに赤外線放射を差し向ける手段を備え
ているシステム。 - 【請求項14】請求項1記載のシステムにおいて,前記
センサに対する圧力を測定するために反射光検出手段を
さらに備えるシステム。 - 【請求項15】請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、前記
センサは、前記弾性高分子材料と,反射層の回りに密封
された空間を設け,これにより,前記高弾性高分子材料
が前記囲まれた容積内と,その外部の圧力の差の圧力に
比例する量だけ押されるようにしたシステム。 - 【請求項16】請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、前記
センサの反射材料は,ルミネッセンス材料を含み,第1
の光に重なり合わない第2の波長領域において,エキサ
イトされたときに,第1の波長のレンジの温度に比例す
る放射を発生することによって特徴づけられるものであ
り、さらに前記放射伝送手段は,第1の波長領域ではな
く第2の波長領域の光を送信するものであり,前記シス
テムはさらに前記媒体の第2の端部に前記ルミネッセン
ス材料から放出された放射のレベルを検出するための手
段を含み、これにより,前記センサは前記力または圧力
の計測と同時に温度を測定することができるものである
システム。 - 【請求項17】少なくとも,第1と第2のパラメータを
光学的に測定するためのシステムであって、 第1と第2の端面を持ち,ある長さの光ファイバ伝送媒
体と、 前記媒体の第1の端部に支持されているセンサであっ
て,そのセンサは、 実質的に光学的に透明である高弾性高分子材料であっ
て,凸球面を前記媒体の一方から離れる方向にもってお
り,そしてその曲面がそれに加えられた力に比例して押
される度合いによって,変わることによって特徴づけら
れる一定量の固体材料と、 光学放射を反射する材料の可撓性の層であって,前記凸
曲面の第1の部分に付着させられており,それは前記第
1端に光学的に通信可能に設けられており,これによ
り,この形状の変化が前記第1のパラメータの表示とな
り,これにより,前記凸曲面の第2の部分は,前記反射
材料を取り囲む一方端の部分を介して,光学的に通信可
能であり、 少なくとも前記第2の領域に前記第2のパラメータの光
学的表示を提供するために設けられた手段と、を含むセ
ンサと、 前記媒体の第2の端部に前記反射層へ前記媒体に沿って
光学的放射を伝達するために設けられた手段であり,こ
れにより,前記第1のパラメータに比例する光学的放射
のある量が前記層によって前記媒体を介してその第2の
端部に送り戻され、前記媒体の第2の端部に前記反射さ
れたレベルを検出するために設けられた手段であって,
これにより,前記第1のパラメータに比例する光学的信
号を提供し、 前記媒体の第2の端部に前記第2のパラメータに比例す
る光学信号を提供するように前記第2のパラメータを光
学的に指示するように結合されている手段とからなるシ
ステム。 - 【請求項18】請求項17記載のシステムであって,前記
第2のパラメータは温度であり、前記センサは,前記第
2のパラメータを光学的に指示する手段に対して赤外線
放射を吸収するために,熱的に結合するように位置させ
られた手段を含み、そしてさらに前記媒体の第2の端部
に前記媒体に沿って前記センサに赤外線を放射する手段
を設け,これにより,前記赤外線放射吸収手段によって
吸収させられ,さらにそしてその温度の測定は,第3の
パラメータに比例するものであるシステム。 - 【請求項19】請求項18記載のシステムであって、前記
光学的な放射を伝達する手段は,前記光学的放射が第1
に定義された波長領域にあるということにおいて,特徴
づけられ,前記第2のパラメータの光学的通信手段は,
前記第2のパラメータの光学的表示手段と,前記定義さ
れた第1の波長領域と重なり合わない,第2の波長領域
において,前記光ファイバ媒体を介して通信することに
おいて,特徴づけられており,前記第1および第2の波
長領域は前記赤外線放射領域とは重ならないものである
測定システム。 - 【請求項20】請求項17記載のシステムであって、前記
光学的放射伝達手段は,前記光学的な放射を定義された
第1の波長領域において,伝送することによって特徴づ
けられ、前記第2のパラメータの光学的な通信手段は,
前記光学ファイバ媒体で,前記第2のパラメータ光学表
示手段と,第2の波長領域内で通信し,その第2の波長
領域は,前記第1に定義された波長領域とは重なり合わ
ないものであるシステム。 - 【請求項21】少なくとも,一つの光ファイバの一端に
支持されたセンサであって、 実質的に光学的に透明である弾性高分子材料であって,
前記光ファイバの一端から突き出した非平面を持ち,そ
してその面は,それに加えられる力によって押されるこ
とによって変化する特徴をもつ高分子材料と、そして 光学的放射を反射する材料の可撓性の層であり,それは
前記非平面の一部に付着されており,前記光ファイバの
一方端と接続している可撓性の層とを含み、ここにおい
て,前記光学的放射を反射する材料の可撓性の層の光学
反射材料の光学的に検出可能な形状が前記センサに加え
られる力によって変化するセンサ。 - 【請求項22】請求項21記載のセンサであって、前記弾
性高分子材料の非平面は凸形状であり,前記弾性高分子
材料は前記光ファイバの一端に固定されたものであるセ
ンサ。 - 【請求項23】請求項21記載のセンサであって、前記反
射材料層は,前記光ファイバの一方端から見た視野の一
部の固まった領域を専有するものであり,材料の一部
は,温度の関数として,光学的に検出できる特性を示
し,前記視野の他の部分に重なり合わないように配置さ
れていることにより,特徴づけられるものであるセン
サ。 - 【請求項24】請求項23記載のセンサであって、前記セ
ンサはさらに赤外線を吸収する材料が前記温度検出材料
と接触する関係に設けられているセンサ。 - 【請求項25】請求項21記載のセンサであって、前記セ
ンサはさらに前記高弾性高分子材料と,反射層を包むよ
うに密閉空間を持ち,前記高弾性高分子材料は,前記包
まれた空間内と,その外側の圧力差に対応して押される
ものであるセンサ。 - 【請求項26】中心の長い軸を持つ1本の光ファイバの
一端に設けられた3パラメータセンサであって、 実質的に透明な弾性高分子材料からなる光学要素であっ
て,前記ファイバ端に固定され離れた方向に凸曲面を持
っており,前記ファイバと光学的に通信可能な状態にあ
る光学要素と、 光学放射反射材料と連続的な過透層であって,前記光学
要素の表面に設けられ,これにより前記弾性高分子材料
が押されることにより,変形させられて反射材料層の形
状の変化が光学的に検出可能であり,これによって,第
1のパラメータを検出する可撓層と、 少なくとも前記反射層の表面に近接して設けられてお
り,温度の関数としての検出可能な光学的変化を示すこ
とによって特徴づけられ,これによって,第2のパラメ
ータを検出する材料の層と、 赤外線放射を吸収する材料の層で,前記温度検出材料層
の上に設けられて,それと熱的に導通することにより,
第3のパラメータの決定を許容する赤外線放射吸収材料
層とから構成した3パラメータセンサ。
