BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A scooter-type motorcycle is known in which a substantially plate-shaped footrest is provided below a steering wheel and a driving seat, and a rear wheel is held by a unit swing type rear wheel suspension device.
In this type of vehicle, the fuel tank is usually disposed between the rear wheel and the driver's seat. As a result, the rear wheel load increases and the vehicle center of gravity increases, which is disadvantageous in terms of improving running stability and steering stability. In addition, when the luggage box is arranged under the driving seat, the capacity of the luggage box becomes small, and there is a problem that large-sized luggage such as a helmet cannot be stored.

On the other hand, it has been proposed to put a fuel tank under a footrest (for example, Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 58-19105, Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-open No. 63-184190).
No.). However, in this case, if an attempt is made to ensure a sufficiently large fuel tank capacity, the footrest space becomes narrow or its position becomes high, so that the rideability and the getting on and off property may be deteriorated. In addition, since the fuel tank has a flat shape that is wide in the front-rear direction and the left-right direction, there is a problem that fuel fluctuates back and forth in the fuel tank with acceleration / deceleration, thereby increasing the ripple of the fuel. Further, since the luggage box and the fuel tank, which are variable weights, are arranged apart from each other in the front-rear direction, the mass is dispersed in the front-rear direction, and there is a problem that the fluctuation of the load distribution between the front and rear wheels increases.

(Object of the Invention) The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances,
By lowering the center of gravity, concentrating the mass, and reducing the variation in the load distributed between the front and rear wheels, the driving stability and steering stability are improved, and the helmet is stored under the driver's seat while ensuring a large fuel tank capacity. It is an object of the present invention to provide a scooter-type motorcycle in which a large luggage box capable of arranging can be arranged, sufficient riding and getting on and off can be ensured, and a surge of fuel can be prevented.

According to this embodiment, since the tunnel-shaped portion 60b is continuously projected upward from the inner edge of the left and right footrests in the width direction of the vehicle body, the fuel tank 54 accommodated in the tunnel-shaped portion 60b is also increased in the vertical direction. The capacity can be increased, and a wide footrest surface can be secured to improve the rideability. Here, the position of the upper wall of the tunnel-shaped portion 60b becomes higher, but since this upper wall is inclined forward and downward from the lower front end of the driving seat 46 toward the front of the vehicle body, the foot contacts the tunnel-shaped portion 60b when getting on and off. This makes it difficult to get on and off. Further, the upper surface of the fuel tank 54 is inclined substantially along the inclination of the tunnel-like portion 60b, and the luggage box 38 further projects downward with its front wall substantially along the substantially arc-shaped curved surface of the helmet in side view. Curved in a substantially downwardly arcuate shape, the rear part of the fuel tank 54 was made to approach the front wall of this luggage box and entered from the front below the luggage box from the front, so that the luggage box could be stored in the helmet. It is possible to simultaneously increase the capacity of the fuel tank while increasing the capacity. Moreover, the luggage box, which is a variable weight object, and the fuel tank overlap vertically, so that the mass is concentrated and the fluctuation of the load distribution between the front and rear wheels is reduced. As a result, the upper portion of the fuel tank becomes narrower in the front-rear direction.

Further, in the present embodiment, since the fuel tank 54 is provided at a position higher than the carburetor 26b, the fuel can be supplied to the carburetor 26b by gravity, and there is also an effect that a fuel pump becomes unnecessary.

(Effect of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, since the fuel tank is disposed in the tunnel-like portion continuously projecting upward from the inner edges of the pair of left and right footrests, the fuel tank is disposed under the operation seat. The center of gravity can be lowered compared to the conventional one provided with a tank. In addition, the upper wall of the tunnel-shaped portion located between the left and right footrests is inclined forward and downward from the lower front end of the driving seat toward the front of the vehicle body, so that the upper side of the tunnel-shaped portion is between the steering wheel and the driving seat. It is possible to form a footing space that is largely open upward. Therefore, even if the upper wall of the tunnel-shaped portion is high, the driver can pass his / her feet at the time of getting on and off using the lowest position, and the getting on and off property is good.

Further, since the position of the tunnel-shaped portion is high, the capacity of the fuel tank accommodated therein can be increased. For this reason, it is not necessary to increase the width of the fuel tank and the width of the tunnel-shaped portion, and the width of the footrest surface can be widened to improve the rideability. Here, the upper surface of the fuel tank is inclined substantially along the upper wall of the tunnel-shaped portion, and furthermore, the front wall of the luggage box projects downward along the substantially arc-shaped curved surface of the helmet in a side view, and the rear wall is lowered downward. While bending in a substantially arc shape,
Since the rear of the fuel tank was made to approach the front wall of this luggage box and entered from the front below the luggage box from the front, the luggage box was kept large enough to accommodate the helmet, and at the same time the fuel tank capacity increased. It becomes possible to plan. Further, since the upper surface of the fuel tank gradually narrows in the front-rear direction upward, the ripple of the fuel is also suppressed. In addition, since the luggage box and the fuel tank, which are variable weight objects, approach front and rear and up and down and overlap each other, the mass can be concentrated and the fluctuation of the front / rear load distribution is reduced. Therefore, effects such as improvement in running stability and steering stability are obtained.
