In recent years, compound feeds for meat and livestock tend to be so-called concentrated feeds designed to have high protein and high calories for the purpose of improving feed efficiency and weight gain. However, feeding such a concentrated feed causes a great stress on the physiology of beef animals, and places a burden on the liver, which plays an important role as a physiological function, resulting in enlargement of the liver and abnormal accumulation of lipids and adverse effects on animals. Exert. In addition, a large amount of animal fats and oils are added to such fattening feeds as an energy source. The addition of these fats increased weight gain, but also increased back fat and body fat. Fatty carcasses have reduced economic value because these fats have a significantly lower commercial value than muscle and horn fat deposition means a waste of feed energy.

The present inventors have conducted intensive studies to improve the above problems, as a result of giving a feed for fattening containing a medium-chain fatty acid triglyceride having 8 to 12 carbon atoms as an essential component to growing animals. It has been found that the present invention has an excellent effect of improving abnormal accumulation of fat, improving nutrition, improving feed efficiency, and improving productivity, and has completed the present invention.

Conventionally, corn, milo, soybean meal and other cereals are used as the main components in meat and fattening feeds, and nutrients such as oils and fats, sugars, proteins, vitamins, and minerals are blended as other components. In the present invention, the object of the present invention can be achieved by adding MCT as described above as an alternative to fats and oils and as a new component.

In the present invention, beef cattle refers to cattle whose feeding of milk substitute has been completed and whose roughage can be foraged sufficiently and whose body weight is 70 kg or more and which is at the end of fattening. For pigs, after weaning, feeding of late artificial milk is completed. It means that the body weight is over 20 kg at the end of fattening.

Example 1 Twenty five pigs in the growing season with an average body weight of 35 kg were divided into four groups of 5 pigs, and feeds having the composition shown in Table 1 were fed for 3 months, and the final body weight, weight gain, and feed demand rate in each section. And the thickness of the back fat was investigated.
