Abstract
Description
本出願は、2019年6月28日に出願された、米国仮特許出願第62/867,979号に対する優先権を主張し、その開示全体は、参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
「ポリマー」という用語は、同一または異なる種類のモノマーに関わらず、モノマーを重合することにより調製されたポリマー化合物を指す。このため、ポリマーという総称は、通常、1種類のみのモノマーから調製されたポリマーを指すために用いられる「ホモポリマー」という用語、および2種類以上の異なるモノマーから調製されたポリマーを指す「コポリマー」を包含する。本明細書で使用される場合、「インターポリマー」という用語は、少なくとも2つの異なる種類のモノマーの重合によって調製されたポリマーを指す。したがって、総称であるインターポリマーは、コポリマー、およびターポリマーなどの、3種類以上の異なるモノマーから調製されたポリマーを含む。
結合層ブレンド内のエチレンアクリレートコポリマーは、様々な好適な組成物を含み得る。いくつかの実施形態では、結合層は、エチレンアクリレートコポリマーを含む。エチレンアクリレートコポリマーは、エチレンおよび1つ以上のアクリレートコモノマーの重合反応生成物である。好適なエチレンアクリレートコポリマーは、エチレン(メタ)アクリレート(EMA)、エチレンエチルアクリレート(EEA)、およびエチレンブチルアクリレート(EBA)を含み得る。特定の実施形態では、エチレンアクリレートコポリマーは、エチレン(メタ)アクリレートを含む。
様々な実施形態の多層フィルムは、任意選択的に、包装された内容物に最も近い包装の内層上に位置付けられたシーラント層を含み得る。また、熱成形された包装部品に蓋フィルムをシールするなど、シーラント層の2つの部分を一緒に、またはパッケージの別の部分の表面にヒートシールすることなどによって、パッケージ製品の周囲でパッケージをシールまたは閉鎖するための手段も提供する。シーラント層の組成は、例えば、可能な限り低いシール温度で高いシール接着強度を達成するために、内面層のシール能力に影響を与えるように選択される。
多層フィルムは、あらゆる適切なプロセスによって形成および配向(例えば、二軸配向)されてもよい。これらのプロセスについての情報は、例えば、the Kirk Othmer Encyclopedia、the Modern Plastics Encyclopedia、またはthe Wiley Encyclopedia of Packaging Technology, 2d edition, A.L. Brody and K.S. Marsh, Eds., Wiley-Interscience(Hoboken, 1997)などの参考文献において見出され得る。例えば、多層フィルムは、ディップコーティング、フィルムキャスティング、シートキャスティング、溶液キャスティング、圧縮成形、射出成形、積層、溶融押出、円形ブローフィルムを含むブローフィルム、押出コーティング、タンデム押出コーティング、またはあらゆるその他の適切な手順によって形成されてもよい。いくつかの実施形態では、フィルムは、溶融押出、溶融共押出、溶融押出コーティング、またはタンデム溶融押出コーティングプロセスによって形成される。いくつかの実施形態では、フィルムは、熱積層または押出積層およびコーティングによって形成される。適切な配向プロセスは、テンターフレーム技術および機械方向配向(MDO)技術を含む。
様々な実施形態では、本明細書に開示される多層フィルムは、包装などの物品を形成するために使用され得る。かかる物品は、本明細書に記載の多層フィルムのいずれかから形成することができる。様々な実施形態の多層フィルムから形成することができる包装の例には、可撓性包装、小袋、パウチ、自立型パウチ、および既製の包装またはパウチを含むことができる。いくつかの実施形態では、本明細書に記載の多層フィルムは、肉、チーズ、シリアル、ナッツ、ジュース、ソース、および同様のものに関する包装などの食品包装に使用することができる。かかる包装は、本明細書の教示に基づいて、かつ包装の特定の用途(例えば、食品の種類、食品の量など)に基づいて、当業者に既知である技術を使用して形成することができる。
試験方法には、以下が含まれる。
密度
密度測定用の試料は、ASTM D4703に従って調製し、グラム/立方センチメートル(g/ccまたはg/cm3)単位で報告した。測定は、ASTM D792、方法Bを使用して、試料圧縮の1時間以内に行った。
メルトインデックス(I2)を、ASTM D-1238に従って、190℃、2.16kgで測定した。値をg/10分で報告し、これは10分当たりに溶出したグラムに対応する。
ヒートシール強度、またはシール強度を、ASTM F1921に従って測定した。値は、N/25mmで報告される。
ASTM F904-91に従って、接合強度を、250mm/分の引張速度および25mm幅のストリップを用いて、Zwick引張試験機を使用して測定した。引張試験機は、グリッパ固定器(試料をT字型に保持)が装備されて、部分的に層間剥離した、または部分的に剥離した試料の両端を保持してから引き離す。クロスヘッドに接続されている上部グリッパを引張方向に駆動して、多層試料の2つの隣接する層の間に必要な力または接合強度を測定する。最大力および平均力の結果は、5回の測定から計算され、ニュートン(N/25mmストリップ)単位で記録される。
ASTM D3078-02に従って、漏れ試験は、ピローパウチ上で実施された試験であった。漏れ試験機装置は、負圧を供給し、膨張したピローパウチを水中に沈めて、方法を使用して膨張したパウチから出る気泡の出現により、任意の漏れを検出することを可能にする。パウチ試料を、表1に列挙された次の圧力条件下で試験した。
本発明のフィルム1は、BYNEL(登録商標)21E961を使用する50μmの単層フィルムであり、表3において見られるように、様々な基材または層間の接着を研究するために使用された。同様に、比較フィルム1および2は、それぞれElvaloy AC 1224ならびにBYNEL(登録商標)41E710およびELITE(商標)5400のブレンドを含む、50μmの単層フィルムである。
接着性能をさらに明示するために、3つのサイドシールピローパウチ構造を、製造した。ピローパウチは、3つの側面だけに5mmの縁部シールを有する、80mmx80mmの寸法を有した。すべてのパウチを、3の設定の温度ノブを使用するJade PFS-600インパルスシーラーを使用してヒートシールした。パウチは、以下の表8に列挙された以下の層構造を含んだ。

前記第1の層と前記第2の層との間に位置決めされた結合層であって、前記結合層が、エチレンアクリレートコポリマー、および無水物グラフト化エチレンα-オレフィンコポリマーを有するブレンドを含む、結合層と、を含み、
前記第1の層および前記第2の層のうちの少なくとも1つが、ポリプロピレン(PP)、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、ポリエチレン(PE)、ポリアミド(PA)、アルミニウム、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から個別に選択されている、多層フィルム。 - 前記第1の層および前記第2の層の両方が、PP、PET、PE、PA、アルミニウム、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から個別に選択されている、請求項1に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第1の層および前記第2の層のうちの少なくとも1つが、一軸配向または二軸配向されている、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記第1の層または第2の層が、PEシーラント層を含む、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記ブレンドが、エチレン/α-オレフィン/非共役ジエンインターポリマーをさらに含む、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記ブレンドが、スチレンをさらに含む、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。

- 前記エチレンアクリレートコポリマーが、5~40重量%のアクリレートコモノマー含有量を有する、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記ブレンドが、1.2~8.0dg/分のメルトインデックスを有する、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記ブレンドが、ASTM D792に従って測定される際、0.930~0.949g/ccの密度を有する、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記ブレンドが、50~90重量%のエチレンアクリレートコポリマーを含む、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記ブレンドが、5~45重量%の無水物グラフト化エチレンα-オレフィンコポリマーを含む、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記無水物グラフト化エチレンα-オレフィンコポリマーが、0.1~2.5重量%の無水物グラフト化レベルを有する、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記多層フィルムが、熱積層によって、形成されている、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 前記多層フィルムが、前記第1および第2の層と前記結合層との間に配設されたプライマー層を含まない、先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルム。
- 先行請求項のいずれか一項に記載の多層フィルムを含む物品であって、前記物品が、可撓性包装物品である、物品。
