Abstract
Description
本出願は、2018年11月14日に出願された仮出願第62/767,174号、および2019年11月12日に出願された米国特許出願第16/681,813の利益を主張するものであり、両者の全体の内容が、本明細書に詳細に記載されているかのように参照により組み込まれる。
本開示は一般に、海底光通信に関し、より詳細には、高密度海底再構成可能な光アド-ドロップ多重化装置(ROADM)および波長選択スイッチ(WSS)の冗長性を含む海底光通信システムに関する。
光通信技術において、そして特に海底の/海中の光通信技術において知られているように、ROADMを含む分岐装置は、そのような海底の/海中のシステムにおいて基本的に重要な構成要素である。さらに、WSS要素に基づくROADMを有する既知の海底の/海中のシステムは、3つ以上のサイトの相互接続のため大きな柔軟性および信頼性を提供するので、さらに重要であることが証明されている。それらの重要性を考慮すると、ROADMとWSS’を含む分岐要素の改善は、技術に対して好適なものであろう。
Claims (5)
- 海底の/海中の送信ネットワークで通信する改良された海底の/海中の通信システム構成であって、
海底の/海中の分岐装置(BU)と、
海底の/海中の再構成可能な光アド/ドロップ多重化装置(ROADM)と、を含み、
前記ROADMは高密度なROADM(HDRU)として構成され、前記HDRUは複数のROADMサブ装置(RSU)を含み、前記複数のRSUの夫々の1つは前記BUと光通信する複数の波長選択スイッチ(WSS)を有し、
前記改良された海底の/海中の通信システム構成は、前記複数のRSU WSSの遠隔操作される冗長性を含むことを特徴とする、改良されたシステム構成。 - 前記複数のRSU WSSの前記遠隔操作される冗長性は、さらに、前記海底の/海中のRSUに含まれる前記複数のWSSの夫々の1つの冗長なWSSを構成することによって達成され、各冗長なWSSは非海底の/非海中の位置に配置されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の改良されたシステム構成。
- 各構成された冗長なWSSは、さらに、通常の動作中に前記海底の/海中のRSUに含まれるその対のWSSにダミー信号を提供するよう構成されることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の改良されたシステム構成。
- 各構成された冗長なWSSは、さらに、前記海底の/海中のRSUに含まれるその対のWSSにダミー信号を提供することを前記対のWSSの故障中には無効にするよう構成されることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の改良されたシステム構成。
- 各構成された冗長なWSSは、さらに、前記海底の/海中のRSUに含まれるその対のWSSの代わりに、前記対のWSSの故障中にはチャネルをアド/ドロップするよう構成されることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の改良されたシステム構成。
