図1に示すように、駆動装置100は、トルクコンバータ2(流体継手の一例)と、回転電機3と、伝達シャフト4とを備えている。また、駆動装置100は、ダンパ装置5、第1軸受部材6a、第2軸受部材6b、シール部材7、及び角度センサ8を備えている。駆動装置100は、エンジン(図示省略)からトランスミッションまでのトルク伝達経路に配置されている。
トルクコンバータ2は、軸方向の第1側からトルクが入力され、軸方向の第2側にトルクを出力するように構成されている。なお、本実施形態では、トルクコンバータ2は、エンジンからトルクが入力され、トランスミッションへとトルクを出力するように構成されている。
カバー21は、トルクコンバータ2の外殻の一部を構成している。カバー21はタービンに連結されている。カバー21は、カバー本体部21aと、外側筒状部21bと、ボス部21c(内側筒状部の一例)とを有している。カバー本体部21aは、中央に開口部を有する円板状の部材である。外側筒状部21bは、カバー本体部21aの外周端部から、軸方向の第2側に延びている。
タービン22は、カバー21に固定されている。タービン22は、カバー21と一体的に回転する。タービン22は、カバー21とともにトルクコンバータ2の外殻を構成している。タービン22は、タービンシェル22aと、複数のタービンブレード22bと、タービンハブ22cと、タービンコア22dとを有している。
インペラ23は、カバー21とタービン22とによって構成された外殻内に配置されている。インペラ23は、タービン22に対して軸方向に対向して配置されている。インペラ23は、インペラシェル23aと、複数のインペラブレード23bと、インペラハブ23cと、インペラコア23dと、第1ワンウェイクラッチ23eとを有している。
第2ステータ24は、タービン22からインペラ23に戻る作動油の流れを整流するための機構である。第2ステータ24は、タービン22とインペラ23との間に配置されている。第2ステータ24は、ステータシェル24aと、ステータシェル24aの外周面に設けられた複数のステータブレード24bと、第2ステータコア24cと、第2ワンウェイクラッチ24dとを有している。
ロックアップクラッチ装置25は、入力ユニット2aと出力ユニット2bとの間でトルクを伝達及び遮断するように構成されている。すなわち、ロックアップクラッチ装置25は、タービン22とインペラ23との間でトルクを伝達及び遮断するように構成されている。本実施形態では、ロックアップクラッチ装置25は、カバー21を介して、タービン22とインペラ23との間でトルクを伝達及び遮断している。
回転電機3は、駆動輪を回転駆動するためのモータとしての機能を有している。また、回転電機3は、発電機としての機能も有している。例えば、回転電機3は、減速時に発電機として機能する。
第1ステータ31は、回転不能に配置されている。具体的には、第1ステータ31は、ハウジング103に取り付けられている。第1ステータ31は、ハウジング103に直接取り付けられていてもよいし、間接的に取り付けられていてもよい。
ロータ32は、回転軸Oを中心に回転するように構成されている。ロータ32は、トルクコンバータ2の出力ユニット2bに取り付けられている。詳細には、ロータ32は、トルクコンバータ2の外殻に取り付けられている。なお、本実施形態では、ロータ32は、カバー21の外側筒状部21bに取り付けられている。すなわち、ロータ32は、カバー21の外周面に取り付けられている。
ダンパ装置5は、軸方向において、トルクコンバータ2と隣り合うように配置されている。詳細には、ダンパ装置5は、エンジンとトルクコンバータ2との間に配置されている。ダンパ装置5は、エンジンからトルクが入力され、そのトルクをトルクコンバータ2へと出力する。
伝達シャフト4は、回転軸Oに沿って延びている。伝達シャフト4は、回転軸Oを中心に回転可能である。伝達シャフト4は、トルクコンバータ2の外殻を貫通して延びている。詳細には、伝達シャフト4は、カバー21のボス部21c内を軸方向に延びている。伝達シャフト4は、ボス部21c内を介して、トルクコンバータ2の外部から内部へと延びている。
第1軸受部材6aは、エンジンのクランクシャフト104に固定されている。詳細には、クランクシャフト104の凹部内に、第1軸受部材6aが嵌合している。第1軸受部材6aは、伝達シャフト4を回転可能に支持している。詳細には、伝達シャフト4の軸方向第1側の端部が、第1軸受部材6aに嵌合している。
第2軸受部材6bは、ダンパ装置5に固定されている。詳細には、第2軸受部材6bは、ダンパ装置5の出力ハブ522の突出部522a内に嵌合している。この第2軸受部材6bは、カバー21を径方向外側から支持している。詳細には、カバー21のボス部21cが、第2軸受部材6b内に嵌合している。すなわち、第2軸受部材6bは、ダンパ装置5とカバー21との間に配置されている。このため、ダンパ装置5とカバー21とは、互いに相対回転する。
シール部材7は、ボス部21cと伝達シャフト4との間に配置されている。シール部材7は、環状であり、ボス部21cと伝達シャフト4との間をシールしている。シール部材7は、トルクコンバータ2の内部を循環する作動油が外部へ漏出することを防止するように構成されている。
角度センサ8は、回転電機3のロータ32の回転速度を検出するように構成されている。詳細には、角度センサ8は、ロータ32と一体的に回転するトルクコンバータ2の外殻の回転速度を検出するように構成されている。なお、本実施形態では、角度センサ8は、タービンハブ22cの回転速度を検出するように構成されている。角度センサ8は、例えば、レゾルバである。
以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、本発明はこれらに限定されるものではなく、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない限りにおいて種々の変更が可能である。
図2に示すように、回転電機3は、軸方向視において、トルクコンバータ2と重複するように配置されていてもよい。具体的には、回転電機3は、軸方向においてトルクコンバータ2と隣り合うように配置されていてもよい。好ましくは、回転電機3は、トルクコンバータ2に対して軸方向の第2側に配置されている。すなわち、軸方向において、トルクコンバータ2、回転電機3、トランスミッション(図示省略)の順に配置されている。
図2に示すように、第1コイルエンド31bは、径方向外側に向かって折り曲げられていてもよい。詳細には、第1コイルエンド31bは、根元部から径方向外側に向かって折り曲げられている。なお、第1コイルエンド31bの根元部とは、軸方向において、第1ステータコア31aに近い側の端部である。また、第1コイルエンド31bの先端部とは、軸方向において、第1ステータコア31aから遠い側の端部である。
図2に示すように、回転電機3は、界磁コイル33をさらに有していてもよい。すなわち、回転電機3は、第1ステータ31、ロータ32、及び界磁コイル33を有している。
上記実施形態では、インペラ23は、第1ワンウェイクラッチ23eを有していたが、インペラ23の構成はこれに限定されない。すなわち、インペラ23は、第1ワンウェイクラッチ23eを有していなくてもよい。この場合、インペラシェル23aは、例えばインペラハブ23cにリベットなどで固定される。
上記実施形態では、回転電機3はインナーロータ型であったが、回転電機3はアウターロータ型であってもよい。
第2ワンウェイクラッチ24dは、トルクコンバータ2のトーラスの中心C2に対して、軸方向の第2側に配置されていてもよい。すなわち、第2ワンウェイクラッチ24dは、ステータブレード24bに対して、軸方向の第2側に配置されていてもよい。この場合、径方向視において、第2ワンウェイクラッチ24dは、ステータブレード24bと重複していない。
上記実施形態では、ピストンプレート25aは、インペラハブ23cと一体的に回転するように構成されているが、ピストンプレート25aの構成はこれに限定されない。例えば、ピストンプレート25aは、インペラシェル23aと一体的に回転するように構成されていてもよい。
上記実施形態では、カバー21はタービン22に対して軸方向の第1側に配置されているが、トルクコンバータ2の構成はこれに限定さない。例えば、カバー21は、タービン22に対して軸方向の第2側に配置されていてもよい。すなわち、エンジン側から、タービン22、カバー21の順に配置される。この場合、タービン22のタービンハブ22c内を伝達シャフト4が貫通する。このタービンハブ22cが本発明の内側筒状部に相当する。
