Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2004-42442

When the waste ink storage unit that stores waste liquid is made into a replaceable cartridge type waste liquid storage body, if a circuit board for storing the storage capacity etc. is attached to the waste liquid storage body, the replacement timing of the waste liquid storage body can be managed. It will be easier to do. However, if the connection terminal of the circuit board is exposed on the outer surface of the waste liquid accommodating body, there is a problem that the waste liquid adheres to the connection terminal, resulting in poor connection to the board connection portion on the device side.

The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a waste liquid container and a liquid injection device capable of suppressing adhesion of waste liquid.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the liquid injection device and the waste liquid container will be described with reference to the drawings. The liquid injection device is an inkjet printer that records (prints) by injecting ink, which is an example of a liquid, onto a medium such as paper. The waste liquid accommodating body is, for example, accommodating waste ink discharged from a printer as waste liquid.

As shown in FIG. 1, the liquid injection device 11 is rotatably attached to the box-shaped housing 12, the upper lid 13 rotatably attached to the housing 12, and the housing 12. The front lid 14 is provided. The upper lid 13 and the front lid 14 are each arranged at a closed position overlapping the housing 12 and an open position shown in FIG. 1 by being rotated to a predetermined angle.

When the upper lid 13 is arranged in the open position, the insertion port 15 for inserting the medium S is exposed in the housing 12. The upper lid 13 arranged at the open position functions as a support member for supporting the medium S inserted into the insertion port 15.

When the front lid 14 is arranged in the open position, the discharge port 16 for discharging the medium S from the inside of the housing 12 is exposed. The front lid 14 arranged in the open position functions as a support member for receiving the medium S discharged from the discharge port 16.

In the housing 12, the outer wall through which the insertion port 15 opens is the upper wall portion 21, the outer wall arranged substantially parallel to the upper wall portion 21 is the bottom wall portion 22, and the outer wall through which the discharge port 16 opens is the front wall. The outer wall arranged substantially parallel to the portion 23 and the front wall portion 23 is referred to as a rear wall portion 24. Further, in the housing 12, the pair of outer walls intersecting the upper wall portion 21, the bottom wall portion 22, the front wall portion 23, and the rear wall portion 24 are referred to as side wall portions 25 and 26. In the housing 12, the upper wall portion 21 side may be referred to as the top surface side, and the bottom wall portion 22 side may be referred to as the bottom surface side.

On the surface side (top surface side) of the upper wall portion 21, an operation unit 17 for operating the liquid injection device 11 and an operation result of the operation unit 17 and an operating status of the liquid injection device 11 are displayed. The display unit 18 and the display unit 18 are arranged. On the back surface side of the upper wall portion 21, for example, a control unit 100 that controls various mechanisms included in the liquid injection device 11 is provided at a position close to the front wall portion 23 and the side wall portion 25.

As shown in FIG. 2, in the housing 12, a support member 27 having a medium support portion 27a, a liquid injection head 31 for injecting liquid to the medium S supported by the medium support portion 27a, and a liquid injection A carriage 33 that holds the head 31 and reciprocates is accommodated. The medium support portion 27a is composed of a plurality of protrusions that support the medium S transported along a transport path (indicated by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 2) extending from the insertion port 15 toward the discharge port 16. Further, a guide shaft 34 for guiding the movement of the carriage 33 is erected in the housing 12.

The liquid injection head 31 has a plurality of nozzles 32 that inject liquid as droplets. The liquid injection head 31 has the first end side (right end side in FIG. 2) in the longitudinal direction (left-right direction in FIG. 2) of the housing 12 as the home position, and the second end side (in FIG. 2) in the longitudinal direction from the home position. The outward movement toward the left end side) and the return movement toward the home position from the second end side are alternately performed.

In the present embodiment, the direction in which the liquid injection head 31 injects the liquid is the injection direction, the direction in which the medium S is conveyed from the insertion port 15 to the discharge port 16 on the medium support portion 27a is the transfer direction, and the liquid injection head 31. The outward movement direction is called the scanning direction. In the present embodiment, the injection direction is vertically downward.

The support member 27 has a receiving recess 27b recessed around the medium support portion 27a. It is preferable that the receiving recess 27b accommodates a sheet 29 capable of absorbing a liquid. The sheet 29 is made of a non-woven fabric, a porous body, or the like, and is ejected from the liquid injection head 31 toward the end of the medium S in the case of borderless printing in which printing is performed without margins up to the edge of the medium S. It accepts the droplets that squeeze out without being accepted by S. In this way, the receiving recess 27b and the sheet 29 function as a waste liquid receiving unit 30 that receives the liquid ejected by the liquid injection head 31 as a waste liquid. The waste liquid received by the waste liquid receiving unit 30 is referred to as "injection waste liquid".

In the housing 12, a maintenance mechanism 35 for performing maintenance of the liquid injection head 31 is arranged near the home position. The maintenance mechanism 35 includes a cap 36 arranged at a position corresponding to the home position, a suction mechanism 38 connected to the cap 36 via a suction tube 37, an elevating mechanism 39 for moving the cap 36 up and down, and a liquid injection head. A wiping member 40 for wiping the 31 is provided.

The elevating mechanism 39 moves the cap 36 between the capping position and the retracted position closer to the bottom wall portion 22 than the capping position. When the cap 36 moves to the capping position while the liquid injection head 31 is in the home position, the cap 36 is in a state of forming a closed space in which the nozzle 32 opens (a state shown in FIG. 12), and suppresses drying of the nozzle 32. .. Forming a closed space in which the nozzle 32 opens by the cap 36 in this way is called "capping". When the power is turned off without injecting liquid, the liquid injection head 31 moves to the home position, and the cap 36 moves to the capping position to perform capping. When the cap 36 moves from the capping position to the retracted position, the capping is released.

The suction mechanism 38 is, for example, a suction pump including a tube pump or the like that generates a suction force by moving while a pressing member such as a roller crushes an elastically deformable tube. When the suction mechanism 38 is driven during capping, the closed space is depressurized and becomes a negative pressure. As a result, suction cleaning is executed in which the liquid is discharged from the liquid injection head 31 through the nozzle 32. The suction cleaning is performed as a maintenance operation for eliminating the injection failure, for example, when a liquid injection failure occurs due to the mixing of air bubbles.

The wiping member 40 wipes off foreign matter such as liquid adhering to the liquid injection head 31 after the liquid injection head 31 injects the liquid, after suction cleaning, and the like. The maintenance operation in which the wiping member 40 wipes the liquid injection head 31 in this way is called wiping.

In addition, as a maintenance operation for eliminating the injection defect, flushing may be performed in which the liquid injection head 31 ejects droplets toward the cap 36 or the waste liquid receiving unit 30 in the retracted position. The waste liquid discharged as waste liquid from the liquid injection head 31 during suction cleaning, flushing, etc., received by the cap 36, and then discharged by driving the suction mechanism 38 is referred to as "suction waste liquid".

As shown in FIG. 3, the liquid injection device 11 includes a mounting chamber 41 on which the waste liquid accommodating body 60 is detachably mounted and a lid 19 that covers the mounting chamber 41 on the bottom surface side of the housing 12. The waste liquid accommodating body 60 has a waste liquid accommodating container 61 for accommodating both jet waste liquid and suction waste liquid. Inside the mounting chamber 41, a discharge unit 42 for discharging the suction waste liquid and a substrate connection unit 43 connected to the control unit 100 by a signal line (not shown) are provided.

The waste liquid accommodating body 60 enters the mounting chamber 41 as it moves in the insertion direction N, and is mounted on the liquid injection device 11 as it moves in the connecting direction M different from the insertion direction N in the mounting chamber 41. In the present embodiment, the insertion direction N is the direction from the bottom wall portion 22 toward the upper wall portion 21, and the connection direction M is the direction from the side wall portion 26 toward the side wall portion 25. The waste liquid accommodating body 60 mounted on the liquid injection device 11 is disconnected as it moves in the mounting chamber 41 in the opposite direction (disengagement direction) of the connection direction M, and is disconnected in the opposite direction (removal direction) of the insertion direction N. It leaves the mounting room 41 with the movement to. It is preferable that the waste liquid accommodating body 60 is provided with a handle portion 66a that can be touched when performing a movement operation in the mounting chamber 41.

In the mounting chamber 41, an insertion guide portion 44 that guides the waste liquid accommodating body 60 that moves in the insertion direction N, and a waste liquid accommodating body that extends from the end of the insertion guide portion 44 in the connection direction M and moves in the connection direction M, respectively. The mounting guides 45 and 46 that guide the 60 may be provided. In this case, the waste liquid accommodating body 60 has a first engaging protrusion 68 that engages with the insertion guide portion 44 and the mounting guide portion 45, and a second engaging protrusion 69 that engages with the mounting guide portion 46. It is good to provide it.

It is preferable that the discharge portion 42 and the substrate connection portion 43 project toward the inside of the mounting chamber 41 so as to extend along the connection direction M. Further, in order to position the waste liquid accommodating body 60 to be connected, it is preferable to project a guide protrusion 47 extending along the connection direction M in the mounting chamber 41.

It is preferable to project one or a plurality of waste liquid transmission units 48 extending from the waste liquid receiving unit 30 (see FIG. 2) in the mounting chamber 41. When a plurality of waste liquid transmitting portions 48 (four in the present embodiment) are provided, it is preferable to arrange them so as to line up along the longitudinal direction of the mounting chamber 41 (the connection direction M in the present embodiment).

As shown in FIG. 4, it is preferable to provide a locking portion 49 for locking the waste liquid storage container 61 in the mounting chamber 41. The locking portion 49 can be, for example, a leaf spring protruding into the mounting chamber 41. In this case, when the waste liquid storage container 61 that has entered the mounting chamber 41 moves in the connection direction M, the locking portion 49 may be configured to lock the waste liquid storage container 61.

As shown in FIG. 5, the mounting chamber 41 is arranged on the bottom surface side of the support member 27, and is formed by a box-shaped accommodating member 28 having an opening on the bottom surface side. Further, a slider 50 that can slide and move along the connection direction M is arranged between the support member 27 and the accommodating member 28. The slider 50 has a transmission protrusion 51 that projects toward the bottom surface side. The transmission protrusion 51 may be covered with an absorbent sheet 53 capable of absorbing the liquid.

From the sheet 29, one or a plurality (four in this embodiment) extending portions 29a extending toward the bottom surface side are provided. A plurality of sliders 50 may be provided at positions corresponding to the extension portion 29a so as to individually correspond to the extension portion 29a. The support member 27 is provided with a through hole 27c through which the extension portion 29a is inserted, and the extension portion 29a is in contact with the transmission protrusion 51 (absorption sheet 53 if there is an absorption sheet 53) of the slider 50 through the through hole 27c. Will be extended to.

The jet waste liquid received by the sheet 29 flows down along the extension portion 29a and the absorption sheet 53 (or the transmission protrusion 51 when the absorption sheet 53 is not present). As a result, the extending portion 29a of the sheet 29, the absorbing sheet 53 and the transmission protrusion 51 constitute the waste liquid transmission portion 48. It is advisable to provide an auxiliary member 54 for pressing the extension portion 29a toward the transmission protrusion 51 so that the extension portion 29a does not separate from the absorption sheet 53 as the slider 50 moves (see also FIG. 11). ).

As shown in FIG. 6, it is preferable that the slider 50 is urged in the release direction by an urging member 52 made of, for example, a spring or the like. In this case, the slider 50 may be provided with a first locking portion 50a for locking one end of the urging member 52, and the accommodating member 28 may be provided with a second locking portion 28a for locking the other end of the urging member 52. .. Further, it is preferable that the accommodating member 28 is provided with a regulating protrusion 28b that regulates the movement of the slider 50 by the urging force of the urging member 52, and the slider 50 is provided with an engaging claw 50b that engages with the regulating protrusion 28b.

The accommodating member 28 is provided with a through hole 28c through which the waste liquid transmission portion 48 is inserted. The through hole 28c is preferably formed so as to extend in the connection direction M so as to allow the movement of the waste liquid transmission portion 48 accompanying the movement of the slider 50.

Next, the configuration of the waste liquid container 60 will be described in detail.
As shown in FIG. 7, the waste liquid accommodating body 60 includes a waste liquid introduction unit 81 for introducing suction waste liquid, and a circuit board 82 having a connection terminal 82a. The circuit board 82 is provided with a storage unit (not shown) for storing information such as the amount of waste liquid contained.

As shown in FIGS. 7 to 9, when the waste liquid accommodating body 60 is illustrated with arrows in the moving direction (insertion direction N, connection direction M, and release direction) associated with attachment / detachment, operability is good.
As shown in FIG. 10, the waste liquid storage container 61 of the waste liquid storage body 60 has a bottom wall 62, side walls 63, 64 and wall portions 65, 66 forming a waste liquid storage chamber 61a for storing the waste liquid, and also has a waste liquid storage chamber. It has a lid 67 that forms the ceiling portion of 61a. The side walls 63 and 64 are substantially parallel and extend in the insertion direction N and the connection direction M.

The circuit board 82 is preferably housed in a recess 83 provided in a side wall 63 extending in the connection direction M of the waste liquid storage container 61 so as to open in the connection direction M. Further, it is preferable to provide a guide convex portion 83a extending in the connection direction M in the concave portion 83. The inner wall extending in the connection direction M of the recess 83 to which the circuit board 82 is attached constitutes a part of the side wall 63.

The waste liquid introduction portion 81 is provided on the side wall portions 63 and 64 of the waste liquid storage container 61 and the wall portion 65 intersecting the bottom wall 62. The waste liquid introduction portion 81 is composed of, for example, a through hole 65a provided in the wall portion 65, an annular seal member 81a surrounding the through hole 65a, and an annular member 81b for holding the seal member 81a.

The waste liquid accommodating body 60 preferably includes an absorbent member 70 capable of absorbing the waste liquid contained in the waste liquid accommodating chamber 61a. As the absorbing member 70, it is preferable to provide a first absorbing member 70F for absorbing the jet waste liquid and a second absorbing member 70S for absorbing the suction waste liquid. Further, it is preferable to dispose a shielding sheet 71 that suppresses the flow of the liquid between the first absorbing member 70F and the second absorbing member 70S. The size and number of the absorbing members 70 (70F, 70S) can be changed according to the amount of waste liquid to be absorbed. For example, in the present embodiment, four plate-shaped second absorbing members 70S are provided and stacked so as to form layers in order from the bottom wall 62 side.

The waste liquid storage container 61 is provided with a locking protrusion 61b protruding from the bottom wall 62 into the waste liquid storage chamber 61a, and a locking protrusion 61c protruding from the side walls 63, 64 and the wall portion 66 into the waste liquid storage chamber 61a. It is good. In this case, the second absorption member 70S is provided with notches 70b and 70c that engage with the locking protrusions 61b and 61c, respectively, and the locking protrusions 61b and 61c are inserted into the notches 70b and 70c, respectively. When the member 70S is accommodated in the waste liquid accommodating chamber 61a, the movement of the second absorbing member 70S in the waste liquid accommodating chamber 61a is suppressed. Further, a cut is made in the shielding sheet 71 to raise the section 71d, a cut 70d that engages with the section 71d is made in the first absorption member 70F, and the section 71d is inserted into the cut 70d, and the first absorption member 70F is inserted. And the shielding sheet 71 may be accommodated in the waste liquid accommodating chamber 61a.

When the first absorbing member 70F and the shielding sheet 71 are accommodated in the waste liquid storage chamber 61a, if the shielding sheet 71 is arranged so as to be supported by the locking protrusions 61b and 61c, the first absorbing member 70F that has absorbed the waste liquid has its own weight. It can be supported by the locking protrusions 61b and 61c so that it does not sink downward. In the present embodiment, a step portion 65d is provided on the wall portion 65 of the waste liquid storage container 61 so that the step portion 65d also supports the shielding sheet 71 (see also FIG. 12).

The lid 67 forming the ceiling portion of the waste liquid storage chamber 61a was received by the waste liquid receiving unit 30 (see FIG. 6) when entering the mounting chamber 41 (see FIG. 3) as it moved in the insertion direction N. A waste liquid introduction port 67a that opens in the insertion direction N in a manner capable of introducing the injection waste liquid is provided (see also FIG. 12).

The waste liquid storage container 61 of the present embodiment is provided with a plurality of (four) waste liquid introduction ports 67a arranged in the connection direction M. Further, in the first absorbing member 70F, through holes 70a are formed at positions corresponding to three of the four waste liquid introduction ports 67a. The remaining one waste liquid introduction port 67a out of the four waste liquid introduction ports 67a is arranged at a position corresponding to the end portion (tip side in the connection direction M) of the first absorption member 70F.

As shown in FIG. 11, an insertion protrusion 67d that can be inserted into the notch 70d of the first absorbing member 70F is projected onto the lid 67, and the lid 67 is attached in such a manner that the insertion protrusion 67d is inserted into the notch 70d. Then, the movement of the shielding sheet 71 and the first absorbing member 70F can be suppressed. Further, if the lid 67 is formed in a box shape so as to enter the through hole 70a of the first absorbing member 70F and a protruding portion 67b that opens in the release direction is recessed, the movement of the first absorbing member 70F is further suppressed. be able to. In FIG. 11, the main body portion of the seat 29, the support member 27, and the accommodating member 28 are not shown.

As shown by the alternate long and short dash line in FIG. 12, when the waste liquid accommodating body 60 moves in the insertion direction N and enters the mounting chamber 41, the waste liquid transmitting portion 48 projecting to the mounting chamber 41 is provided in the waste liquid accommodating body 60. It enters the inside of the box-shaped protrusion 67b (inside the recess). Then, when the waste liquid accommodating body 60 moves in the connection direction M in the mounting chamber 41 and reaches the position shown by the solid line in FIG. 12, the waste liquid transmission unit 48 exits from the opening of the protrusion 67b and enters the waste liquid introduction port 67a. It comes into contact with the first absorbing member 70F.

That is, the first absorption member 70F comes into contact with the waste liquid transmission unit 48 as it moves in the mounting chamber 41 in the connection direction M. As a result, when the liquid ejected by the liquid injection head 31 is received by the waste liquid receiving unit 30 as waste liquid, the injected waste liquid is transmitted through the waste liquid transmission unit 48 and is accommodated in the waste liquid accommodating body 60.

Further, when the waste liquid accommodating body 60 moves in the connection direction M in the mounting chamber 41, the waste liquid introduction unit 81 is connected to the discharge unit 42. That is, the waste liquid introduction unit 81 is connected to the discharge unit 42 as it moves in the mounting chamber 41 in the connection direction M. When the discharge unit 42 is inserted inside the waste liquid storage container 61, it is cut into a second absorbing member 70S located in the lower layer in order to leave a space around the discharge unit 42 and below the discharge unit 42 for the waste liquid to flow. It is advisable to provide a notch 70f.

As shown in FIG. 13, the circuit board 82 having the connection terminal 82a is provided in the recess 83 formed in the side wall 63 extending in the connection direction M of the waste liquid storage container 61, and is provided in the connection direction M in the mounting chamber 41. As it moves, it is electrically connected to the board connecting portion 43. As a result, information regarding waste liquid and the like is exchanged between the circuit board 82 and the control unit 100 (see FIG. 3).

The waste liquid storage container 61 preferably has an engaging portion 89 that engages with the locking portion 49 when moving in the connecting direction M in the mounting chamber 41. The engaging portion 89 has, for example, an uneven shape formed on the lid 67 constituting the ceiling portion of the waste liquid storage chamber 61a (see also FIG. 14).

It is preferable that the waste liquid storage container 61 is provided with a guide portion 87 that is guided by the guide protrusion 47 when moving in the connection direction M (see also FIG. 14). The guide portion 87 of the present embodiment is a concave portion provided in the wall portion 65, but a concave portion, a convex portion, or a flat surface provided in the bottom wall 62, the side wall 63, 64, or the lid 67 may be used as the guide portion 87.

In the waste liquid storage container 61, assuming that the direction in which the bottom wall 62 and the wall portion 65 extend is the width direction W, the waste liquid introduction portion 81 is preferably arranged between the guide portion 87 and the engaging portion 89 in the width direction W.

As shown in FIGS. 14 and 15, in the waste liquid storage container 61, the waste liquid introduction portion 81, the connection terminal 82a, and the guide portion 87 are preferably arranged at positions overlapping with the virtual plane P extending along the bottom wall 62. That is, assuming that the length in the direction from the bottom wall 62 toward the lid 67 is the height, the waste liquid introduction portion 81, the connection terminal 82a, and the guide portion 87 are set to the same height, and in the front view shown in FIG. It is preferable that the waste liquid introduction portion 81, the connection terminal 82a, and the guide portion 87 are arranged in the width direction W.

In particular, when the guide protrusion 47 (see FIG. 13) engages with the upper end of the guide portion 87 formed of the recess at a position corresponding to the guide portion 47, the guide portion 87 engages with the guide protrusion 47, whereby the waste liquid accommodating body 60 is engaged. Since the positioning in the height direction is performed, the positions of the waste liquid introduction portion 81 and the connection terminal 82a at the time of mounting can be correctly set.

Further, as shown in FIG. 15, in the waste liquid storage container 61, if the connection terminal 82a is arranged between the bottom wall 62 and the engaging portion 89, the positioning of the connection terminal 82a in the height direction can be made more accurate. Therefore, it is preferable.

As shown in FIG. 16, it is preferable that the handle portion 66a extends from the bottom wall 62 in the release direction so as to project from the wall portion 66. By doing so, the posture of the waste liquid accommodating body 60 can be stabilized when the bottom wall 62 is placed face down. Therefore, when the waste liquid is taken out in the state of being contained, the waste liquid introduction that opens in the lid 67 is introduced. Leakage of waste liquid from the waste liquid introduction portion 81 that opens to the mouth 67a or the wall portion 65 can be suppressed. Further, by providing the handle portion 66a at a position close to the bottom wall 62, the top side (cover body 67 side) without the handle portion 66a and the bottom side (bottom wall 62) side with the handle portion 66a can be easily provided. Can be distinguished.

Further, as shown in FIGS. 3, 4 and 12, if the mounting chamber 41 is provided with the step portion 41a, the handle portion 66a is provided in a state where the top side and the bottom side of the waste liquid accommodating body 60 are reversed. Is caught on the step portion 41a, so that it is possible to prevent an error in inserting into the mounting chamber 41.

Next, the operations of the waste liquid accommodating body 60 and the liquid injection device 11 configured as described above will be described.
In the waste liquid accommodating body 60, the inside of the waste liquid accommodating chamber 61a is partitioned by the shielding sheet 71 to suppress the suction waste liquid from being absorbed by the first absorption member 70F in the upper layer, and the suction waste liquid is absorbed by the second absorption member in the lower layer. It can be preferentially absorbed by 70S. Further, by suppressing the sinking of the first absorbing member 70F due to its own weight by the shielding sheet 71, it is possible to stably secure the contact area of the waste liquid transmitting portion 48 with respect to the first absorbing member 70F.

Here, since the mounting chamber 41 for accommodating the waste liquid accommodating body 60 in the liquid injection device 11 opens toward the bottom surface side of the housing 12, the housing 12 is turned over and the waste liquid accommodating body 60 is attached and detached. .. Then, since the waste liquid introduction port 67a and the waste liquid introduction portion 81 are opened in the waste liquid storage body 60, when the housing 12 is turned over with the waste liquid storage body 60 attached, the waste liquid introduction port 67a or the waste liquid introduction portion 81 is lowered. There is a risk of facing (or diagonally downward). In that respect, by absorbing the waste liquid contained in the waste liquid container 60 into the absorbing member 70, leakage of the waste liquid from the waste liquid introduction port 67a and the waste liquid introduction unit 81 is suppressed.

Since there are a plurality of waste liquid introduction ports 67a and it is necessary to secure a certain wide opening area in order to allow the waste liquid introduction portion 81 to enter and exit, the waste liquid is particularly liable to leak. In that respect, in the present embodiment, since the recess (through hole 70a) through which the waste liquid introduction portion 81 enters and exits is covered with the box-shaped protrusion 67b, the opening area of the waste liquid introduction port 67a becomes small and the leakage of the waste liquid is suppressed. Will be done.

Further, in the waste liquid accommodating body 60, the jet waste liquid received by the waste liquid receiving unit 30 is transmitted to the waste liquid transmitting unit 48 and absorbed by the first absorbing member 70F in contact with the waste liquid transmitting unit 48, so that the injection waste liquid is absorbed in the mounting chamber 41. Scattering of waste liquid is suppressed. Therefore, it is difficult for the waste liquid to adhere to the connection terminal 82a, the inner wall of the mounting chamber 41, or the like. Further, since the circuit board 82 is housed in the recess 83, even if the leaked waste liquid runs down the side wall 63, the waste liquid is unlikely to adhere to the connection terminal 82a.

When the slider 50 is urged in the release direction by the urging member 52, the waste liquid transmission unit 48 is pressed against the first absorption member 70F in the waste liquid accommodating body 60 that moves in the connection direction M in the mounting chamber 41. .. Therefore, the waste liquid transmission unit 48 and the first absorption member 70F can be reliably brought into contact with each other.

The waste liquid accommodating body 60 that has moved in the connection direction M in the mounting chamber 41 is maintained in a state of being mounted on the liquid injection device 11 by the locking portion 49 being caught by the engaging portion 89.
Here, if there is a margin in the width direction W in the mounting chamber 41, the waste liquid accommodating body 60 may be tilted about the engaging portion 89, but the guide portion 87 is engaged with the guide protrusion portion 47. By keeping it, the inclination of the waste liquid container 60 can be suppressed.

By arranging the waste liquid introducing portion 81 between the guide portion 87 and the engaging portion 89 in the width direction W, the displacement of the waste liquid introducing portion 81 due to the inclination of the waste liquid accommodating body 60 or the like is suppressed. As a result, it is possible to maintain the connection of the waste liquid introduction unit 81 to the discharge unit 42 and suppress the leakage of the waste liquid. Further, by arranging the connection terminal 82a between the bottom wall 62 and the engaging portion 89, the displacement of the connection terminal 82a due to the inclination of the waste liquid accommodating body 60 or the like is suppressed, so that the substrate of the connection terminal 82a is suppressed. The connection to the connection portion 43 can be maintained.

According to the above embodiment, the following effects can be obtained.
By mounting the waste liquid accommodating body 60 on the liquid injection device 11 in a detachable manner, a space for accommodating the waste liquid (mounting chamber 41) rather than providing a fixed non-replaceable waste liquid accommodating portion in the housing 12. Can be made smaller. As a result, the liquid injection device 11 can be miniaturized.

However, if the waste liquid accommodating body 60 is made replaceable, there is a high risk that the waste liquid accommodating body 60 will be attached and detached during use and the waste liquid will adhere to the connection terminal 82a. Further, by providing the waste liquid introduction port 67a and the waste liquid introduction unit 81 in the waste liquid storage body 60, both the injection waste liquid and the suction waste liquid can be stored, but the waste liquid storage body 60 has two openings (waste liquid) for introducing the waste liquid. By providing the introduction port 67a and the waste liquid introduction unit 81), the risk of waste liquid leaking increases.

In that respect, since the connection terminal 82a of the circuit board 82 is provided on the side wall 63 different from the lid 67 provided with the waste liquid introduction port 67a and the wall portion 65 provided with the waste liquid introduction portion 81, the waste liquid is less likely to adhere.

The waste liquid container according to [Thought 1] or [Thought 2], wherein the connection terminal is arranged between the bottom wall and the engaging portion in the waste liquid storage container.

According to the above [idea 3], the waste liquid storage container is restricted from moving along the connection direction by engaging the engaging portion with the locking portion. Even when the waste liquid storage container whose movement is restricted is tilted with the engaging portion as a fulcrum, the connection terminal is arranged between the bottom wall and the engaging portion, so that the displacement due to the tilt is small.
