Abstract
Description
本出願は、米国特許法第119条(e)項の下で、2018年6月11日に出願され、発明の名称が「混合マトリックス膜中の分岐金属−有機構造体ナノ粒子および関連する方法」である米国特許仮出願第62/683,516号(すべての目的のためにその全体が本明細書中で参考として援用される)の利益を主張する。
金属−有機構造体を含むナノ粒子の合成を一般的に記載する。
化学工業および石油化学工業において、全世界のエネルギーのおよそ30%が消費され、CO2直接排出量は16%である。エネルギー消費のおよそ半分は分離プロセスに由来し、中でも最も注目すべきは蒸留などの熱分離である。炭素捕捉への適用および天然ガス精製に必要とされるCO2分離領域において、アミン吸収が主力技術である。このプロセスは効率的であるが、高エネルギーの熱再生サイクルおよび有毒アミンを使用することが必要である。材料設計の改良により、膜は吸収プロセスおよび蒸留に関連するエネルギー消費量および経費を大幅に削減することができ、それにより、伝統的なユニット操作に代わるエネルギー効果が高いモジュールを提供することができる。
金属−有機構造体を含む組成物および組成物に関する方法を一般的に記載する。いくつかの実施形態では、少なくとも一部が金属−有機構造体で作製された分岐ナノ粒子を記載する。いくつかの実施形態では、分岐ナノ粒子の形態およびサイズは、合成中の化学調節物質の存在によって制御される。本発明の主題は、いくつかの場合、相互関連する生成物、特定の問題に対する代替案、ならびに/または1またはそれを超えるシステムおよび/もしくは物品の複数の異なる使用を含む。
粒子合成に関連する組成物、デバイス、および方法、ならびにガス分離への適用時に使用するための混合マトリックス膜への前述の粒子の包摂を一般的に記載する。いくつかの実施形態では、金属−有機構造体(MOF)を含む粒子を形成するための合成スキームを提供する。いくつかの実施形態では、粒子は分岐ナノ粒子である。分岐ナノ粒子は、ある特定の実施形態によれば、比較的高いアスペクト比および比較的小さい流体力学半径を有する。いくつかの実施形態では、分岐ナノ粒子は、相互接続した構造を有する。いくつかの実施形態では、分岐ナノ粒子は、多次元構造を有する。例えば、分岐ナノ粒子は、ある特定の実施形態によれば、末端間様式で接続された比較的狭い枝を有し、これらの枝は同一直線上にない。分岐ナノ粒子の分岐の寸法および形態は、好ましい性質(溶液中の懸濁物の凝集もしくは集塊の制限または多次元構造中の複数の接触点の形成など)の一部に寄与し得る。分岐ナノ粒子は、カルボキシラート系MOFを含み得る。例えば、分岐ナノ粒子は、ある特定の実施形態によれば、MOF HKUST−1を含み得る。いくつかの実施形態では、分岐ナノ粒子は、イミダゾラート系MOFを含む。例えば、いくつかの実施形態では、分岐MOFナノ粒子はMOF ZIF−8を含む。
HKUST−1粒子の合成
種々の構造およびサイズを有するHKUST−1粒子を、メタノール(MeOH)溶媒およびカルボキシラート化学調節物質(酢酸ナトリウム)を室温で1時間使用して合成した。図1Bは、化学調節物質を用いずに合成した典型的なHKUST−1粒子のTEM画像を示し、この粒子は、ミクロンサイズで(横断面1〜2μm)八面体の形態で巨大な集塊を形成している。他方では、HKUST−1合成時に調節物質(トリメシン酸に対して0.3モル当量)を導入すると、図1Aに示すように分岐構造を生じた。図1Aは、これらのHKUST−1粒子が長さおよそ100〜300nmの末端間距離および幅およびおよそ10〜30nmの枝を示し、アスペクト比はおよそ5〜20に相当することを示す。分岐HKUST−1粒子を、乾燥した粒子溶液からTEM銅製グリッド上に分散させた。TEMグリッド上の数個のメッシュは、いかなる有意な集塊もない十分に分散された分岐HKUST−1ナノ粒子を示した。さらに、図6A〜6Dに示したTEM画像は、HKUST−1粒子のサイズおよび構造に及ぼす化学調節物質濃度の系統的変動(トリメシン酸に対して0、0.1、0.3、および0.5モル当量、これらはそれぞれ図6A、6B、6C、および6Dに対応する)の効果を実証していた。化学調節物質の濃度が増加するにつれて、HKUST−1粒子のサイズは、トリメシン酸に対して0.3〜0.5モル当量の調節物質で最小サイズに到達するまで減少した。このサイズはまた、分岐構造については比較的高いアスペクト比に対応する。HKUST−1粒子のサイズおよび構造の効果を評価するために、酢酸ナトリウムを用いずに合成したミクロンサイズのHKUST−1粒子を、バルクHKUST−1標準試料として選択した。図1Bは、バルクHKUST−1粒子のTEM画像を示す。図1Aは、分岐HKUST−1試料としての、トリメシン酸に対して0.3当量の酢酸ナトリウムを用いて合成したHKUST−1ナノ粒子のTEMを示す。図3Aは、バルクおよび分岐のHKUST−1粒子についてのXRDパターンを示す。バルクおよび分岐のHKUST−1粒子は共に同一のHKUST−1の結晶相を示したが、分岐HKUST−1ナノ粒子についてはピーク幅が広く、これは微結晶サイズがより小さいことを示している。(222)プレートの主要ブラッグピークにシェラーの式を適用すると、分岐HKUST−1ナノ粒子の微結晶サイズが、およそ16nmであると評価された。このフィーチャサイズは、分岐構造の幅に対応する。XRDの結果は、HKUST−1合成中に酢酸ナトリウム濃度を0→0.1→0.3→0.5モル当量に増加させると、ピーク幅が広いことによって示唆されるように、微結晶の枝サイズが減少する一方で、HKUST−1結晶構造は依然として維持されることを示していた。図3Bは、溶媒としてMeOHを使用した希釈懸濁物を用いたDLSによって測定したバルクおよび分岐のHKUST−1粒子の粒子分布を示す。バルクHKUST−1粒子はTEMによって認められた1〜2μmのサイズの粒子にほぼ適合したが、HKUST−1ナノ粒子は遥かに小さく、その直径はおよそ100〜300nmであった。DLS測定によって計算された粒径分布がストークス・アインシュタインの式を使用した球体の流体力学半径に基づいており、これはDLS装置が粒子のアスペクト比を考慮できないことを意味することに留意すべきである。したがって、DLS装置は、粒子の長い方の長さを骨格となる流体力学的球体の半径であると仮定していた。このため、DLSによって推定された長さ100〜300nmの粒子直径は、相互接続した分岐構造の流体力学半径に厳密に適用していた。DLS測定値は、HKUST−1合成中に酢酸ナトリウム濃度を変動させるとHKUST−1粒子の粒径分布が変動することを示していた。さらに酢酸ナトリウムを添加すると、枝構造の粒径が最も小さくなるまで(100〜200nm)粒径分布が減少した。全体的に見て、TEM分析、XRD分析、およびDLS分析によって確認した場合、酢酸ナトリウム調節物質を用いて形成された分岐HKUST−1ナノ粒子の枝幅は10〜30nmであり、流体力学的直径は100〜300nmであった。これらの結果は、これらの多次元MOFのアスペクト比がおよそ5〜20であることを示唆していた。
溶液中のMOF粒子の分散安定性は、MOF粒子が均一に分布された状態でポリマーマトリックス中に組み込むことができるかどうかを決定する重要な要因である。したがって、混合マトリックス膜を作製する前に、MeOH中の一連のHKUST−1懸濁物(0、0.1、0.3、および0.5モル当量の酢酸ナトリウムを含む)について分散試験を行った。これらの結果は、強い撹拌および超音波処理の直後に全てのHKUST−1懸濁物が良好な分布を示すことを実証した。しかし、懸濁物をベンチトップ上に数時間放置すると、バルクHKUST−1はガラスバイアルの底に沈降し始めた。1日後に全てのバルクHKUST−1粒子がガラスバイアルの底に沈降し、一方、全ての分岐HKUST−1懸濁物は均一な分布を保持していた。特に興味深いことに、混合マトリックス膜中に均一に分散されたMOFを組み込むためにHKUST−1懸濁物を最大で12時間十分に分散させる必要があるが、分岐HKUST−1懸濁物は、2週間を超えて均一な分散状態を保持していた。種々のHKUST−1重量が負荷された(10、20、および30重量%)バルクおよび分岐のHKUST−1混合マトリックス膜を、薄膜の厚さを一様にし、かつ複合材料中のフィラー分布を均一にするためにおよそ6時間蒸発させる溶媒蒸発法を使用して作製した。混合マトリックス膜の作製のために、6FDA−DAMポリイミドをマトリックスとして使用した。ポリマーの詳細な特徴付けの結果(すなわち、純度および分子量)を、表2に示す。核磁気共鳴(NMR)スペクトルにより、6FDA−DAMポリイミドマトリックスの帰属および純度が確認された。TGA曲線由来の混合マトリックス膜中の実際のHKUST−1重量負荷は全て目標とする重量負荷に近いが、異なるバッチから独立して調製した試料についての不確定度は±1%であることに留意すべきである。6FDA−DAMポリマー中のバルクおよび分岐のHKUST−1の分散およびネットワーク形成を実証するために、図4は、種々のHKUST−1重量負荷を用いたバルク(図4A)および分岐(図4B)HKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜の横断面像を示す。混合マトリックス膜を、液体窒素を用いて2片に割断し、FE−SEMを用いて横断面を観察した。図4Aは、20重量%のバルクHKUST−1負荷を用いたバルクHKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックスの横断面FE−SEM画像を示す。10から30重量%までバルクHKUST−1粒子を漸増的に負荷した膜を作製し、FE−SEMを使用して観察した。バルクHKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜は、溶媒蒸発中に生じたバルクHKUST−1の急速な粒子沈降に起因した、MOFが豊富な相とポリマーが豊富な相とに望ましくなく相分離した構造を示した。混合マトリックス膜中のMOFが豊富な層の厚さは、バルクHKUST−1の重量負荷が増加するにつれて増加した。30重量%バルクHKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜のMOFが豊富な層の厚さは20〜25μmであり、これは、膜の全厚(40〜50μm)のほぼ半分であった。図4Bは、20重量%の分岐HKUST−1粒子負荷を用いた分岐HKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜のFE−SEM画像を示す。10〜30重量%の分岐HKUST−1負荷を用いた膜を作製し、FE−SEMを用いて観察した。バルクHKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜と比較して、分岐HKUST−1ナノ粒子は6FDA−DAMポリマーマトリックス中に均一に分布し、薄膜全体にわたって均一な形態が得られた。30重量%の分岐HKUST−1試料内であっても分岐HKUST−1粒子のいかなる顕著な集塊も認められないようであった。さらに、バルクHKUST−1と分岐HKUST−1との間で粒径および分散性が異なるので、キャストHKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜は異なる外観を示した。バルクHKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜は、巨大なHKUST−1粒子集塊に起因する反射率の高さに起因して不透明であったのに対して、分岐HKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜は、小さな分岐HKUST−1ナノ粒子が有効に分散していたために透明であった。HKUST−1の結晶構造の画像は、透明な分岐HKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜の後ろから明確に観察することができるが、前述の画像は、不透明バルクHKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜を通して観察することができる。
試料のガス透過特性を決定する前に、本発明者らは、混合マトリックス膜を真空下で保持して、HKUST−1粒子を活性化するように加熱しながら透過セルを覆う加熱ジャケットを使用して、活性化温度の効果を調査した。H2ガスおよびN2ガスを、15、30、および45psiでの20重量%分岐HKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜のプローブガスとして使用した。これらの結果は、ポリマー−MOFの界面相互作用の増加または6FDA−DAMポリイミド相におけるわずかな物理的老化効果におそらく起因してわずかな温度上昇でH2およびN2の透過性が低下することを示していたが、試料がこれらの条件下で熱的に安定であることも示していた。さらに、加熱ジャケットを使用した活性化前および活性化後に得た30重量%分岐HKUST−1/6FDA−DAM混合マトリックス膜に対するほぼ同一のXRD測定値は、活性化中に高いHKUST−1結晶性が保持されたことを示した。したがって、加熱ジャケットを使用した高温活性化プロセスがHKUST−1粒子のガス輸送特性および結晶の性質に有意な影響を及ぼさなかったと結論づけた。さらに、TGA分析により、高温活性化プロセスが混合マトリックス膜中の溶媒の完全な除去を補助したことが確認された。
以下の実施例のために使用した材料は、以下の通りである:
硝酸銅(II)三水和物(Cu(NO3)2・3H2O)、トリメシン酸(C9H6O6、95%)、酢酸ナトリウム(NaAc、C2H3NaO2、99.0%以上)、メタノール(MeOH、CH4O 99.9%以上)、テトラヒドロフラン(THF、C4H8O、99.0%以上)、N−メチルピロリドン(NMP、C5H9NO無水物、99.5%)をSigma−Aldrichから購入し、受け取った状態で使用した。単量体4,4’−(ヘキサフルオロイソプロピリデン)ジフタル酸無水物(6FDA、C19H6F6O6 99%超)および2,4−ジアミノメシチレン(DAM、(CH3)3C6H(NH2)2 99%超)を、Akron Polymer Systemsから購入した。6FDAを、使用前に真空中にて160℃で一晩乾燥させて二価酸夾雑物を環化し、DAMを使用前に真空中にて70℃で一晩乾燥させた。トリエチルアミン(Et3N、C6H15N 99%)およびo−ジクロロベンゼン(o−DCB 98%超)を、Fisherから受け取った状態で使用した。エタノール(EtOH、C2H6O 99.5%)を、VWRから受け取った状態で使用した。H2(HY UHP300、100%)、CH4(ME UHP300、100%)、N2(NI UHP300、100%)、O2(OX UHP300、100%)、CO2(CD UP300、99.999%)のガスボンベを、Airgasから購入した。
分岐HKUST−1ナノ粒子のために、銅前駆体溶液および有機配位子溶液を、個別に調製した。硝酸銅三水和物(0.9g、3.7mmol)およびトリメシン酸(0.43g、2mmol)を、対応する酢酸ナトリウム濃度(0.2、0.6、および1mmol)(トリメシン酸に対して0.1、0.3、および0.5モル当量)と共に、個別のMeOH溶液(100mL)に溶解した。2つの個別の溶液を直ちに混合し、混合液を室温で1時間強く撹拌した(およそ800rpm)。最終溶液を遠心分離後、新鮮なMeOH(100mL)を用いた洗浄工程を少なくとも3回行い、この洗浄工程において、MeOHが試料に室温で数時間暴露されて未反応の単量体および化学調節物質が除去された。MeOH中のHKUST−1懸濁物を、特徴付けおよび混合マトリックス膜の形成のために使用するまで保存した。バルクHKUST−1粒子合成のために、酢酸ナトリウムを添加しなかったことを除いて、上記と同一の手技を使用した。
6FDA−DAMポリイミドを、完全にイミド化させるためのエステル酸経路を介して合成した。三ツ口250mL丸底フラスコおよび全てのさらなるガラス製器具を、使用前に200℃で一晩乾燥させた。ガラス製器具をオーブンから取り出し、窒素流下で冷却し、単量体をデシケーター中にて真空中で冷却した。6FDA(17.7695g、40mmol)を、125mLのEtOHを含む三ツ口フラスコに移した。反応フラスコは、メカニカルスターラー、窒素入口、および冷却器を取り付けたディーン・スターク・トラップを備えていた。ディーン・スターク・トラップにEtOHを仕込み、Et3N(10mL)を反応フラスコに添加した。反応物を窒素流下で加熱還流し、1時間撹拌した。ディーン・スターク・トラップを水抜きし、過剰なEt3NおよびEtOHを、粘稠性のエステル酸溶液が残存するまで蒸留した。DAM(6.0088g、40mmol)を、NMP(128mL)およびo−DCB(32mL)と共に添加した。EtOHおよびEt3Nの蒸留の終了後、ディーン・スターク・トラップにo−DCBを仕込み、反応物を175〜180℃に加熱した。反応物を加熱し、窒素下で48時間撹拌して、完全に環化したポリイミドを得た。粘稠性ポリマー溶液を、撹拌MeOH中に滴下によって沈殿させて、白色ポリマービーズを得た。ポリマービーズをブレンドし、MeOHを用いてソックスレー抽出を一晩行って、さらなるNMPを除去した。ポリマーを、21.4gの恒量まで乾燥させた(Mw=149kDa、D=4.1、収率96%)。
HKUST−1粒子は、集塊を防止するためにポリマーとの混合前に乾燥させなかった。HKUST−1懸濁物を含む溶媒を、遠心分離および洗浄過程の繰り返しによってMeOHからTHFに交換した。この工程のために、試料を遠心管中で遠心分離し、上清を除去し、新鮮なTHF(100mL)を使用して試料の上部に入れて、室温にて数時間でMeOHと交換した。少なくとも3回の遠心分離および洗浄工程を使用して、溶媒交換を完了した。混合マトリックス膜中に目的のHKUST−1重量を負荷させるために、保存液中のHKUST−1の濃度を、THF中の少量(0.5ml)の超音波処理したHKUST−1懸濁物を取り出すことによって最初に決定した。取り出した直後に体積を測定し、その後に真空オーブン中で溶液を完全に蒸発させた。大気ガスおよび蒸気の吸着のためにHKUST−1粒子が紫色に変色した時点で、乾燥HKUST−1粒子を含むバイアルを再度秤量し、それにより、HKUST−1溶液の濃度の近似値を決定することができた。既知のHKUST−1溶液の濃度の近似値を用いて、混合マトリックス膜を以下のように調製した。6FDA−DAMポリマーをTHF溶媒に溶解し、スターラーバーを用いて3〜4時間撹拌して均一な溶液を得た。膜作製のためのキャスティング溶液の総質量を、0.15gに一定に保持した。したがって、純粋なポリマー薄膜のために、0.15gの6FDA−DAMポリマーを使用した。混合マトリックス膜のために、0.015、0.03、および0.045gのHKUST−1粒子を0.135、0.12、および0.105gの6FDA−DAM中に添加して、混合マトリックス膜中にそれぞれ10、20、および30重量%のHKUST−1を重量負荷させた。HKUST−1溶液を、ホーンを用いた超音波処理(Qsonica,Q500)を1分間行ってHKUST−1粒子をさらに分散させた後、HKUST−1溶液を6FDA−DAMポリマー溶液と混合した。混合溶液を3〜4時間撹拌して、6FDA−DAMポリマー中にHKUST−1粒子を均一に分散させた。混合溶液を、ホーンを用いた超音波処理を1分間行い、ガラスペトリ皿に注ぎ、THF溶媒をゆっくり蒸発させるための小さな穴を有するアルミニウム箔のキャップで覆った。薄膜をオーブン中で50℃で一晩キャスティングし、それにより、厚さ40〜50μmの薄膜を得た。自立している薄膜をガラスペトリ皿から剥離し、真空オーブン中で24時間乾燥させて残存THF溶液を除去した。
純ガスの透過測定を、自動化された特注の定容積可変圧力純ガス透過システム(Maxwell Robotics)を使用して行った。外径が47mmで内部に同心円状の穴を有する真鍮シムのストックディスクを、薄膜支持体のために機械加工によって特別に作製した。薄膜を、真鍮製ディスク中の穴より大きな領域に切断し、薄膜の厚さを、クーポンの作製前にマイクロメーターを使用して測定した。薄膜を支持ディスクの穴の上に配置し、不浸透性エポキシ接着剤(Devcon,5 Minute Epoxy,14250)によって露呈した薄膜の小領域に貼り付けてシールした。薄膜の作用領域を、スキャナおよびImage Jソフトウェア(NIH)を使用して5回決定し、平均作用領域を、透過性計算において使用した。薄膜を、透過実験のためにステンレス鋼フィルターホルダー中に装着した。ガス透過試験前に、全ての薄膜を、透過セル中にて特注の加熱ジャケット(HTS/Amptek)を使用して、そのままで動的真空下にて150℃で2時間活性化した。活性化後、透過セルを一晩自然に冷却させて、透過セル内の温度を室温に戻した。試験温度を正確に制御するために、浸漬サーキュレーター(ThermoFisher Scientific,SC150)を用いて35℃に加熱した恒温水浴中に透過装備を浸漬させた。透過システム内の全ての弁を閉じることによって静的真空下で漏れ試験を行い、この試験を、ガス透過試験前に行った。測定されたガス輸送速度から漏れ速度を差し引いて、ガス透過性を計算した。全てのガス透過試験について、漏れ速度は、ガス輸送速度の1%未満であったことに留意のこと。純粋なH2、CH4、N2、O2、およびCO2ガスを、35℃での多圧力試験のために連続的に供給した。考慮された最初の2つの供給圧力は、15psiおよび75psiであった。次に、CO2を除く全てのガスについて、圧力を75psi単位で900psiまで系統的に増加させ、CO2のみは、飽和蒸気圧のために750psiまで試験した。加圧後のヒステリシス効果を調査するために、CO2ガス供給圧力を、本発明者らの最初の加圧工程に適合する単位で漸減させた。減圧工程の終了後、試料を動的真空条件下で2時間保持した。次いで、最初に考慮された加圧プロトコールと同一の加圧プロトコールを繰り返した。各ガスを、各圧力での異なる保持時間での透過について試験した:H2は18分間、CH4は30分間、N2は30分間、O2は24分間、CO2は3.6分間保持した。定常状態での透過を確実に評価するために、各圧力点で少なくとも6×タイムラグを使用して、ガス輸送速度を計算した。タイムラグは、定常状態の透過圧力増加の直線部分に対して時間プロットを外挿して得られた直線と時間軸(x軸)との交点の、圧力(y軸)からの距離として求められる時間と規定される。純ガス透過性(Pi)は、以下の式(1)を使用したBarrerの単位(1Barrer=10−10(cm3(STP)・cm)/(cm2・s・cmHg))で計算される:
核磁気共鳴(NMR)分光法を、TopSpin(商標)3.2を備えたAscend(商標)500分光計(Bruker)を使用して行った。1H−NMRスペクトルを、500MHzで取得した。全てのスペクトルを、1〜5%(w/v)の0.7mLのDMSO−d6溶液から得た。ゲル浸透クロマトグラフィ(GPC)測定を、Waters2695クロマトグラフシステム、THF移動相、および屈折率検出を用いてIntertek(Allentown,PA)が実施した。Agilent Technologies製のポリスチレン/ジビニルベンゼンカラムセットを用いて溶液を分析した。試料溶液を2mg/mLのTHF溶液として調製し、0.45μmナイロンフィルターを使用して濾過した。試料を、完全に溶解するまで手作業で振盪した。分子量を、オンライン光散乱および固有粘度シグナルを使用して測定した。6M〜162ダルトンの範囲の狭い範囲のポリスチレン標準を較正のために使用した。フーリエ変換赤外(FT−IR)スペクトルを、減衰全反射(ATR)アクセサリーを備えたAlpha II FT−IR分光計(Bruker)によって32スキャンでの分解能4cm−1を使用して取得した。MOF粉末およびMOF混合マトリックス膜について加熱速度20℃/分でTA装置(TGA500)を使用してTGA測定を行った。MOFの完全なバーンオフ後の残存金属酸化物の質量を決定するために、MOF粉末を、最初に、TGA炉内で窒素雰囲気下にて150℃で2時間(ガス透過測定における活性化のために使用した条件と同一である)活性化した。次に、炉を室温に冷却し、温度が安定した時点で、大気下にて加熱速度20℃/分で700℃までランプを運転した。最終生成物は、酸化のために純粋な金属酸化物であった。混合マトリックス膜中の実際のMOF重量負荷を決定するために、MOF混合マトリックス膜に対して同一のプロトコールを行った。700℃の大気下でポリマーマトリックスが完全に分解し、金属酸化物のみが残存すると、最終重量(混合マトリックス膜)/最終重量(MOF粉末)の比を決定し、重量負荷の百分率として本明細書中に報告する。ガラス転移温度を、TA Instrumentsの示差走査熱量計(DSC250)を使用して、加熱速度20℃/分にて室温と420℃との間で実施した反復加熱プロトコールの第3の軌跡から決定した。数平均粒径分布を、動的光散乱(DLS)分析から得た。MeOH中の希釈MOF懸濁物を超音波処理してMOF粒子を均一に分散させた後、Zetasizer Nano S90(Marvern)を用いて35℃でDLS測定を行った。MOF粉末の拡散反射率を、紫外可視分光光度計(Perkin Elmer Lambda 1050)によって測定した。紫外可視試料の調製のために、MOF粉末を、固体試料の測定用に設計された円形の粉末ペレットセル中に十分に充填した。532nmレーザーを備えた電荷結合素子(CCD)カメラおよび基板上のMOF粉末のための1200l/mmグレイティングを使用したRenishaw Invia Reflex Microラマン分光法を用いてラマンスペクトルを得た。銅製管(l=0.15418nm)およびVANTEC−500二次元検出器を備えたBruker D8 Discover回折計を使用して、粉末X線回折(XRD)の測定値を得た。5〜40°の範囲のデータを記録した。窒素物理吸着の測定を、−196℃でMicromeritics ASAP 2460にて行った。測定前に、全ての試料を、Micromeritics Smart VacPrepで真空下にて150℃で一晩脱気した。見かけ上の表面積を、ブルナウアー・エメット・テラー(BET)法を用いてP/P0範囲0.02〜0.10で決定した。t−プロット法を使用して、微細孔容積(Vmic)を推定した。透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)画像を、120kVでのFEI Tecnai(G2 Spirit TWIN)操作によって得た。MeOH中の0.5%未満の濃度の希釈MOF溶液の液滴を、銅製TEMグリッド上にキャスティングし、TEMグリッドを数時間自然乾燥させて、MeOH溶媒を完全に蒸発させた。薄膜の横断面電界放出型走査電子顕微鏡(FE−SEM)画像を、FE−SEM装置(Zeiss Merlin)を使用して回収した。薄膜を、液体窒素中で2片に低温割断して横断面を観察した。薄膜の横断面を、金(Au)でスパッタして、非導電薄膜上に電荷を放散するための薄い導電層(3〜5nm)を作製した。より滑らかな横断面を観察するために、収束イオンビーム走査型電子顕微鏡(FIB−SEM)画像化を、ガリウム(Ga)−イオンミリングを用いたFEI Helios Nanolab 600 Dual Beam Systemを使用して行った。薄膜表面を、スパッタリング装置を使用して金(Au)で同様にコーティングして、同一の厚さの薄い導電層を作製した。電子線位置を使用して、矩形の白金(Pt)薄層をコーティングし、試料を52°に傾けた後、このPt層の下の位置を、規則的な横断面を使用して、6.5nAなどの適切なビーム電流でGa−イオンミリングを行った。cleaning cross−sectionモードを使用してより低い電流でさらなるGa−イオンミリングを行って、画像化前に滑らかな横断面を作製した。一貫したFIB−SEM画像化のために、HKUST−1の形態と無関係に、全ての薄膜を同一のプロトコールおよび条件で調査したことに留意のこと。FIB−SEM断層画像の再構築のために、電子ビームを使用して、保護Pt/C混合物(約250nm)を、切片にすべき領域上および配置基準にするための隣接する正方形の領域上に堆積させた。次いで、Gaイオンビームを使用して、白金層(約1μm)をこれらの同一の領域上に堆積させ、配置用正方形内にX形を彫り込んだ。加速電圧30kVおよび電流2.5nAを使用して最初のトレンチをミリングした。より低い電流(30kV、80pA)での最終ミリング工程を使用して、横断面を滑らかにし、最初のトレンチング中にダメージを受けた材料を除去した。次いで、FEI提供のソフトウェアルーチンを使用して、側面間隔が5nmの顕微鏡写真の切片を取得した。SEMを、レンズ通過検出システムを使用した後方散乱モード(3kV、0.4nA)で操作して、最後の顕微鏡写真を撮るために異なる原子量を有する材料の間のコントラストを増大させた。Avizoソフトウェアパッケージ(FEI)をデータ処理のために使用し、データ処理の間に画像を整列させ、切り取り、スタックにした。適応ヒストグラム均等化ルーチンを使用して、深度シャドウイングからアーチファクトを除去し、周波数領域FFTフィルターを使用してカーテンアーチファクトを除去した。適応3Dヒストグラムおよびエッジ検出ルーチンをスマート閾値化技術と組み合わせて強度変化の大きいエッジを見出し、次いで、ノイズ低減ルーチンを使用して単一ピクセル領域を排除した。異なる強度レジームをポリマー材料、銅材料、または空隙領域(バブル)に割り付け、次いで、3D再構築ファイルを、銅材料網のために作成した。オープンソースソフトウェア(Blender)を使用して、銅製網のための3D断層撮影再構築の最終画像を作成した。
この実施例は、金属−有機構造体ZIF−8の分岐ナノ粒子の合成および特徴付けについて記載する。この実施例では、トリエチルアミンを、ZIF−8分岐ナノ粒子合成中の化学調節物質として使用した。トリエチルアミンは、酢酸ナトリウムよりもpKa値が高く、メタノールへの溶解性が高い。金属前駆体を0.5gの硝酸亜鉛六水和物(Zn(NO3)26H2O、1.68mmol)を20mLのメタノール(0.99mmol)に溶解することによって調製し、配位子前駆体を0.5gの2−メチルイミダゾール(C4H6N2、6.10mmol)の溶解によって調製した。室温および大気圧下で、配位子溶液を撹拌金属溶液中に注いだ。混合直後に、0.2mLの純粋なトリエチルアミン(1.43mmol)を滴下した。反応溶液を600rpmで1時間撹拌して、多次元ZIF−8ナノ粒子を得た。粒子を、メタノールでの洗浄および11,000rpmで90分間の懸濁物の遠心分離によって精製した。各々の洗浄工程と遠心分離工程との間に、粒子を40mLの新鮮なメタノールに再懸濁し、30分間の間接的超音波処理、90秒間の直接的超音波処理によって超音波処理し、ボルテックス装置を用いて2000rpmで2時間を超えて処理した。各試料について洗浄工程を3回使用した。多次元分岐ZIF−8ナノ粒子は、以前に認められなかった表面終端を有し、それにより、溶媒中の分散挙動が異なっていた。分岐ZIF−8ナノ粒子を、各々の異なるガラスバイアル中の種々の溶媒に懸濁させた。使用溶媒は、ジクロロメタン、クロロホルム(溶解パラメータ9.2(cal/cm3)1/2)、テトラヒドロフラン(溶解パラメータ9.3(cal/cm3)1/2)、ジメチルホルムアミド(溶解パラメータ12.1(cal/cm3)1/2)、およびメタノール(溶解パラメータ14.5(cal/cm3)1/2)であった。考慮されたほとんどの溶媒について、安定なZIF−8懸濁物を形成させることは困難であったが、ジメチルホルムアミド(DMF)中で均一な分散を形成することができ、DMFは、ある特定のポリマー(ある特定のポリイミドポリマーなど)のためのキャスティング溶液の作製で使用するのに良好な溶媒でもある。
この実施例は、金属−有機構造体ZIF−8の分岐ナノ粒子を含む混合マトリックス膜の作製および特徴付けについて記載する。
この実施例は、様々な異なる有力な化学調節物質を使用したメタノール中での分岐ZIF−8ナノ粒子の合成の試みについて記載する。試験した異なる化学調節物質は、ピリジン(pKa=5.44(メタノール中)、pKa=5.22(H2O中))、アニリン(pKa=6.05(メタノール中)、pKa=4.6(H2O中))、p−フェニレンジアミン(pPDA、pKa=6.2(H2O中))、4−エトキシアニリン(p−フェネチジン、pKa=6.92(メタノール中)、pKa=5.32(H2O中))、N,N−ジメチルプロパルギルアミン(pKa=7.97(メタノール中)、pKa=8.04(H2O中))、ギ酸ナトリウム(pKa=8.87(メタノール中))、酢酸ナトリウム(pKa=9.63(メタノール中))、プロピオン酸ナトリウム(pKa=9.71(メタノール中))、トリメチルアミン(TMA、pKa=9.8(メタノール中)、pKa=9.74(H2O中))、トリエチルアミン(pKa=10.78(メタノール中)、pKa=10.67(H2O中))、ジエチルアミン(pKa=11.2(メタノール中)、pKa=10.72(H2O中))、トリ−n−ブチルアミン(TBA、pKa=10.89(H2O中))、およびn−ブチルアミン(pKa=11.48(メタノール中)、pKa=10.6(H2O中))であった。ZIF−8ナノ粒子を、異なる構造の調節物質を同一のモル量で使用して実施例2に記載の手技によって合成した;配位子供給源(20mLのメタノールに溶解した0.5gのC4H6N2)を、金属供給源(20mLのメタノールに溶解した0.5gのZn(NO3)6H2O))に注いだ。1.43mmolの各調節物質を滴下し(あるいは、調節物質が固体の場合、混合前にリガンド溶液に溶解した)、周囲条件下で1時間撹拌し、次いで、実施例2に記載のように、新鮮なメタノールで3回洗浄した。
Claims (38)
- 組成物であって、
金属−有機構造体を含む分岐ナノ粒子であって、前記金属−有機構造体が金属イオンおよび多座配位子を含む、分岐ナノ粒子
を含み、
ここで、前記分岐ナノ粒子が、2μmまたはそれ未満の流体力学的直径、少なくとも5のアスペクト比、および直径が200nmまたはそれ未満の枝を有する、組成物。 - 前記多座配位子が、少なくとも2つのカルボキシラート基を含む、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記金属イオンが遷移金属イオンである、請求項1〜2のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記金属イオンが銅である、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 前記金属−有機構造体がHKUST−1である、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の組成物。

ここで、前記多座配位子の濃度に対して前記化学調節物質が少なくとも0.1当量存在すると、前記分岐ナノ粒子のアスペクト比が、前記化学調節物質の非存在下での同一条件下で形成された粒子に対して少なくとも3倍に増加するように、前記金属塩、多座配位子、および/または化学調節物質を選択する、方法。 - 前記分岐ナノ粒子が、2μmまたはそれ未満の流体力学的直径、少なくとも5のアスペクト比、および直径が200nmまたはそれ未満の枝を有する、請求項15に記載の方法。
