Abstract
Description
本出願は、参照により本明細書に明示的に組み込まれる、2018年3月30日出願の米国仮特許出願第62/650,775号に対する優先権を主張する。
本明細書に開示される実施形態は、概して、骨の内方成長のための三次元多孔質構造体の表面特徴部、及び当該構造体を製造するための方法に関する。
上で開示された多孔質三次元金属構造体は、様々な異なる金属部材製造技術を用いて製造されることができ、当該技術としては、限定するものではないが、鋳造プロセス(鋳造プロセスは、溶融金属を金型キャビティに注ぎ込むことを含み、いったん固化すると、金属はキャビティの形状を呈する)。例としては、消耗型鋳造、永久金型鋳造、及び粉末圧縮冶金が挙げられる)、変形プロセス(変形プロセスとしては、金属の降伏応力を超える機械的応力を金属に加える工具の使用を伴う金属形成及び板金加工プロセスが挙げられる)、材料除去プロセス(これらのプロセスは、所望の形状を得るために、被加工物から余分な材料を除去する。材料除去プロセスの例としては、工具機械加工及び研磨加工が挙げられる)、並びに積層造形プロセス(これらのプロセスは、連続する材料層を堆積させることによって金属成分を複数の層に作り上げるためのデジタル3D設計データの使用を伴う)が挙げられる。積層造形プロセスとしては、例のみとして、粉末床溶融プリント(例えば、溶融と焼結)、コールドスプレー式の3Dプリンティング、ワイヤーフィード方式の3Dプリンティング、熱溶解積層方式の3Dプリンティング、押出3Dプリンティング、液体金属3Dプリンティング、ステレオリソグラフィ3Dプリンティング、バインダージェッティング方式の3Dプリンティング、材料噴射方式の3Dプリンティングなどを挙げることができる。しかしながら、多孔質三次元金属構造体を構成する単位セルの幾何学的要素及び構造要素が複雑であることから、積層造形プロセスは、多孔質三次元金属構造体(上記に開示された)の製造に関して、他の金属部材製造技術に勝るいくつかの独自の利点を提供することを理解されたい。
(1) 整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネントであって、
基部と、
前記基部に取り付けられた多孔質三次元構造体であって、骨の内方成長を可能にするように構成され、かつ外側表面境界を有する、多孔質三次元構造体と、
前記多孔質三次元構造体の前記外側表面境界から、患者の骨と係合するように構成された外側嵌入先端部まで外向きに延在する係合スタッドと、を備え、
前記外側表面境界と前記外側嵌入先端部との間に距離が規定され、前記距離は、0.03ミリメートル〜0.30ミリメートルの範囲内である、整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(2) 前記係合スタッドが、前記多孔質三次元構造体内に位置付けられた細長い本体と、前記細長い本体から前記外側嵌入先端部まで延在する嵌入ヘッドと、を含む、実施態様1に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(3) スロットが、前記細長い本体を通って延在する、実施態様2に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(4) 前記細長い本体が、前記基部に取り付けられた第1の端部から前記嵌入ヘッドに取り付けられた第2の端部まで延在する、実施態様2に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(5) 前記係合スタッド及び前記基部が、単一の一体型構成要素である、実施態様1に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(7) 前記係合スタッドが、前記多孔質三次元構造体の前記外側表面境界から外向きに延在する複数の係合スタッドのうちの1つであり、各係合スタッドは、患者の骨と係合するように構成された外側嵌入先端部を有し、
前記外側表面境界と各外側嵌入先端部との間に距離が規定され、該距離は、0.03ミリメートル〜0.30ミリメートルの範囲内である、実施態様1に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(8) 各係合スタッドが、中心軸に沿って延在し、
第1の数の係合スタッドのうちの各係合スタッドが、その中心軸を中心とした第1の回転位置に位置付けられ、
第2の数の係合スタッドのうちの各係合スタッドが、その中心軸を中心とした第2の回転位置に位置付けられ、前記第2の回転位置は前記第1の回転位置とは異なっている、実施態様7に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(9) 前記第2の回転位置が、前記第1の回転位置から90度である、実施態様8に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(10) 前記多孔質三次元構造体が厚さを有し、前記厚さに対する各距離の比率は0.25未満である、実施態様1に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(12) 前記脛骨プラットフォームから遠位先端部まで細長いステムが延在しており、前記細長いステムは、患者の脛骨の外科的に準備された近位端に埋め込まれるように構成されている、実施態様11に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(13) 前記多孔質三次元構造体が、前記脛骨プラットフォームの遠位表面に取り付けられ、前記細長いステムが、前記三次元構造体を通って外向きに延在する、実施態様12に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(14) 整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネントであって、
基部と、
前記基部に取り付けられた多孔質三次元構造体であって、骨の内方成長を可能にするように構成され、かつ外側表面境界を有する、多孔質三次元構造体と、
前記多孔質三次元構造体の前記外側表面境界から中心軸に沿って外向きに延在する複数の係合スタッドであって、各係合スタッドは、患者の骨と係合するように構成された外側嵌入先端部を有する、複数の係合スタッドと、を備え、
いくつかの前記複数の係合スタッドのうちの各係合スタッドが、その中心軸を中心として、前記複数の係合スタッドのうちの少なくとも1つの他のものからある角度で、回転される、整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(15) 前記複数の係合スタッドが、前記多孔質三次元構造体の前記外側表面境界に沿って延在する仮想線上に位置付けられている、実施態様14に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
第2の数の係合スタッドのうちの各係合スタッドが、その中心軸を中心とした第2の回転位置に位置付けられ、前記第2の回転位置は前記第1の回転位置とは異なっている、実施態様14に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(17) 前記第1の数の係合スタッドのうちの係合スタッドが、前記第2の数の係合スタッドのうちの係合スタッドと交互になっている、実施態様16に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(18) 前記基部が、脛骨インサートを受容するように構成された脛骨プラットフォームを含む、実施態様14に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(19) 前記脛骨プラットフォームから遠位先端部まで細長いステムが延在しており、前記細長いステムは、患者の脛骨の外科的に準備された近位端に埋め込まれるように構成されている、実施態様18に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
(20) 整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネントを製造するための方法であって、
金属粉末の連続層を堆積させかつ走査して、多孔質三次元構造体を形成し、かつ、前記多孔質三次元構造体の表面境界を越えて延在する少なくとも1つの係合スタッドを形成することを含む、方法。
Claims (10)
- 整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネントであって、
基部と、
前記基部に取り付けられた多孔質三次元構造体であって、骨の内方成長を可能にするように構成され、かつ外側表面境界を有する、多孔質三次元構造体と、
前記多孔質三次元構造体の前記外側表面境界から、患者の骨と係合するように構成された外側嵌入先端部まで外向きに延在する係合スタッドと、を備え、
前記外側表面境界と前記外側嵌入先端部との間に距離が規定され、前記距離は、0.03ミリメートル〜0.30ミリメートルの範囲内である、整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。 - 前記係合スタッドが、前記多孔質三次元構造体内に位置付けられた細長い本体と、前記細長い本体から前記外側嵌入先端部まで延在する嵌入ヘッドと、を含む、請求項1に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
- スロットが、前記細長い本体を通って延在する、請求項2に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
- 前記細長い本体が、前記基部に取り付けられた第1の端部から前記嵌入ヘッドに取り付けられた第2の端部まで延在する、請求項2に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
- 前記係合スタッド及び前記基部が、単一の一体型構成要素である、請求項1に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
- 前記係合スタッド及び前記多孔質三次元構造体が、単一の一体型構成要素である、請求項1に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。
- 前記係合スタッドが、前記多孔質三次元構造体の前記外側表面境界から外向きに延在する複数の係合スタッドのうちの1つであり、各係合スタッドは、患者の骨と係合するように構成された外側嵌入先端部を有し、
前記外側表面境界と各外側嵌入先端部との間に距離が規定され、該距離は、0.03ミリメートル〜0.30ミリメートルの範囲内である、請求項1に記載の整形外科用プロテーゼコンポーネント。 - 各係合スタッドが、中心軸に沿って延在し、
第1の数の係合スタッドのうちの各係合スタッドが、その中心軸を中心とした第1の回転位置に位置付けられ、
