1L三角フラスコに各細切した食品(ホタルイカ12g、大根25g、チーズ18g、豚35g)と水5gを入れておいた。本発明の食品由来生ゴミの腐敗臭発生抑制である実施例11(表2)の香料を含浸させ、パルプ製薬剤含浸体(三和インセクティサイド株式会社製、製品名Papermat、25mm×47mm×2.8mmの長方体状)を調整し、フラスコ内に、当該含浸体を食品と接触しないように、吊り下げた後、フラスコをゴム栓で密封した。室温(25℃)で7日間保管後、気体検知管(株式会社ガステック製)にてフラスコ内のアンモニア、トリメチルアミン、メチルメルカプタンのそれぞれの臭気濃度を測定した。
また無処理区として、薬剤含浸体を吊り下げないこと以外は上記の処理区と同じ条件で、室温(25℃)で7日間保管後のフラスコ内のアンモニア、メチルメルカプタン、トリメチルアミンのそれぞれの臭気濃度も気体検知管(株式会社ガステック製)で測定した。
測定結果を上記した式(I)に基づき、腐敗臭発生抑制率(%)を算出した。(試験結果は表3に記載。)

食品として、食パン、ジャガイモ、マドレーヌ、リンゴ、煮干し、ブリ、レーズン、米、コンニャク、ナス、シイタケ、ニンジン、カニ、柚子、シメジ、ヨーグルト、菜の花胡麻和え、ゴハン、ブロッコリー、生姜、エンドウ豆、カマボコ、練乳、バナナ、ミカン、ウインナー、イカ燻製、ニンニク、乳酸菌飲料、カイワレ、エビ、タルタルソース、鉄火巻き、メープルシロップ、蕎麦、調味酢、カニみそ、中華だし、砂糖、ハチミツ、おから、レモン、からあげ、納豆、アジの開き、イカげそ、らっきょう、ホウレン草、ゴーヤ、ネギ、ゆで卵、梅干し、もずく、トマト、梨、生鶏肉、ビール、ラーメン、もやし、レンコン、ミョウガ、エノキ、バター、マヨネーズ、醤油、ピーマン、クッキー、大豆、冷凍グラタン、生牛肉、白菜、大葉、アップルパイ、ちりめんじゃこ、キャベツ、味噌、豚肉生姜焼き、ナポリタンスパゲティー、落花生、タコ、タマネギ、炊き込みご飯の具、冷凍チャーハン、柿、セロリ、ニラ、ワイン、ちくわ、キウイ、サバ、豆腐、カボチャ、モチ及び生魚を各々適量と、本発明の食品由来生ゴミの腐敗臭発生抑制である実施例11の香料を含浸させたパルプ製薬剤含浸体を用いて、試験例2と同様の試験を行ったところ、いずれの食品においても、腐敗臭(アンモニア、トリメチルアミン及びメチルメルカプタンのいずれか又はこれらの組み合わせ)の発生を抑制(約80〜99%程度)することができた。
さらに、各食品の外観から、いずれの食品においても、7〜14日間保管後の無処理区と処理区の食品を比較したところ、無処理区の食品にはカビが発生していたのに対し、本発明食品由来生ゴミの腐敗臭発生抑制を用いた食品(処理区の食品)にはカビは発生しておらず、本発明の剤が防カビ効果にも優れることを確認できた。

透明のPETカップ(860cc)に、生しらす9g、水5gを加えて蓋をした後、室温(25℃)で7日間静置した。カップ内のトリメチルアミン及びアンモニアの臭気濃度を気体検知管(株式会社ガステック製)で測定した。蓋の隙間から生ゴミ臭消臭製品1を3回プッシュし、約1分後にトリメチルアミン及びアンモニアの臭気濃度を気体検知管(株式会社ガステック製)で測定した。
消臭率を下記式(II)により求めたところ、トリメチルアミン及びアンモニアのいずれに対しても、85%と高い消臭効果が得られることが分かった。

実施例11の香料5g、植物抽出物(商品名「スーパーピュリエール」、パナソニックエコソリューション化研株式会社製)2g、及びイソプロパノール85gに水を加えて全量を250mLとし、生ゴミ臭消臭組成物2を得た。この水性液剤250mLをプラスチック製トリガーポンプに充填して、本発明の生ゴミ臭消臭組成物2を含有する、生ゴミ臭消臭製品2を得た。
容積6.5Lのポリスチレン製ゴミ箱(商品名「SCHON 65 NEO」、リッチェル株式会社製)に食べ終わった後の納豆の容器(蓋、ビニールなし)、生魚(サンマの頭及び内臓)、生魚の入っていた容器、生タマネギを入れ、生ゴミ臭消臭製品2を10プッシュした後、ラップで密閉したものを処理区とした。また、生ゴミ臭消臭製品2で処理せず、ラップで密閉したものを無処理区とした。これらを室温(25℃)で4日間保管した。
