図3には、本発明の一実施形態に係るセグメント接合体10の模式的な端面図(a)及び側面図(b)が示されている。セグメント接合体10は、複数の柱状ハニカム構造セグメント100の側面同士が接合材17を介して接合された構造を有する。柱状ハニカム構造セグメントを複数接合してセグメント接合体として提供することにより、耐熱衝撃性を高めることができる。セグメント接合体10は、外周側面13、第一のハニカム状端面14、及び第一のハニカム状端面14の反対側に位置する第二のハニカム状端面16を有する。
本発明の一実施形態によれば、上記セグメント接合体の製造過程において、セグメント接合体からはみ出た未乾燥の接合材を掻き取る作業を実施するための装置(接合材の掻き取り装置)が提供される。
従って、本発明の一実施形態によれば、
複数の柱状ハニカム構造セグメントの側面同士が未乾燥の接合材を介して接合されているセグメント接合体であって、外周側面、第一のハニカム状端面、及び第一のハニカム状端面の反対側に位置する第二のハニカム状端面を有するセグメント接合体を台に載置する工程と、

掻き取りロボットであって、前記台に載置されたセグメント接合体の外周側面、第一のハニカム状端面及び第二のハニカム状端面の少なくとも一つの面に対して、押し付けながら当該面に沿って少なくとも一つの掻き取り方向に移動可能に構成されている少なくとも一つの掻き取りヘラを備え、

- 前記掻き取りロボットは前記掻き取りヘラを固定する保持部を備えており、
前記掻き取りヘラは、保持部から矩形板状に突出している請求項1〜4の何れか一項に記載の装置。 - 前記掻き取りヘラの保持部からの突出長さが40mm〜80mmである請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記掻き取りロボットは、前記掻き取りヘラの先端が前記掻き取り方向に対して垂直な方向に延在するようにして、前記掻き取りヘラを前記掻き取り方向に移動させることが可能である請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記掻き取りヘラの先端における前記掻き取り方向に垂直な方向の幅は、第一のハニカム状端面及び第二のハニカム状端面における前記掻き取り方向に垂直な方向の最大幅と同じであるかそれよりも長い請求項1〜7の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記掻き取りヘラは、第一のハニカム状端面及び第二のハニカム状端面にはみ出た未乾燥の接合材を掻き取るための第一掻き取りヘラと、外周側面にはみ出た未乾燥の接合材を掻き取るための第二掻き取りヘラを備える請求項1〜8の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記掻き取りヘラは、第一掻き取りヘラ及び第二掻き取りヘラの何れよりも小さな第三掻き取りヘラであって、第三掻き取りヘラの先端における前記掻き取り方向に垂直な方向の幅は、それぞれの柱状ハニカム構造セグメントの第一のハニカム状端面及び第二のハニカム状端面における前記掻き取り方向に垂直な方向の最大幅と同じであるかそれよりも短い第三掻き取りヘラを備える請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記台に載置されたセグメント接合体の外周側面、第一のハニカム状端面及び第二のハニカム状端面の少なくとも一つの面を撮像可能に構成されたカメラを備え、
前記掻き取りロボットは、カメラによって撮像された前記少なくとも一つの面の画像に基づき、前記少なくとも一つの面における接合材の掻き取り残し部を予め定めた基準に従って判別し、判別された掻き取り残し部における未乾燥の接合材を、第三掻き取りヘラを用いて掻き取る動作を行うように前記制御部によって制御可能である請求項10に記載の装置。 - 前記掻き取りロボットは、前記掻き取りヘラを装着するための手首部と、手首部が先端に取り付けられたアームとを備えた多関節ロボットであり、
当該掻き取りロボットは、手首部及びアームの姿勢を制御することで前記掻き取りヘラが位置する座標、前記押し付け荷重、前記角度、及び前記速度を前記制御部によって制御可能である請求項1〜11の何れか一項に記載の装置。 - 前記掻き取りヘラに付着した前記接合材を擦り取るためのワイヤを備え、
前記掻き取りロボットは、前記掻き取りヘラをワイヤに擦り付ける動作を行うように前記制御部によって制御可能である請求項1〜12の何れか一項に記載の装置。 - 前記台は回転可能に構成されている請求項1〜13の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記掻き取り方向は、互いに直交する二方向を含む請求項1〜14の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記台を搬送するための循環走行型コンベヤを備える請求項1〜15の何れか一項に記載の装置。
- 循環走行型コンベヤ上の前記台の載置面に拭掃部を押し当てながら当該載置面を拭掃することが可能に構成された清掃ロボットを備える請求項16に記載の装置。
- セグメント接合体の製造方法であって、
複数の柱状ハニカム構造セグメントの側面同士が未乾燥の接合材を介して接合されているセグメント接合体であって、外周側面、第一のハニカム状端面、及び第一のハニカム状端面の反対側に位置する第二のハニカム状端面を有するセグメント接合体を前記台に載置する工程と、
請求項1〜17の何れか一項に記載の装置を用いて、前記台に載置されたセグメント接合体の外周側面、第一のハニカム状端面及び第二のハニカム状端面の少なくとも一つの面に対する前記掻き取りヘラの押し付け荷重、前記少なくとも一つの面に対して前記掻き取りヘラを押し付けるときの前記掻き取りヘラと当該面のなす角度、並びに、前記少なくとも一つの面に対して前記掻き取りヘラを押し付けながら、前記掻き取りヘラを当該面に沿って少なくとも一つの掻き取り方向に移動させる際の速度を予め定めた条件に制御して、セグメント接合体からはみ出た未乾燥の接合材を掻き取る工程と、
接合材を掻き取る工程の後に、未乾燥の接合材を乾燥させる工程と、
を含む製造方法。
