Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a technique for treating a liquid to be treated such as organic wastewater and sewage using microorganisms.
Treatment of organic wastewater using microorganisms includes treatment of aerobic organisms and treatment of anaerobic organisms. Among anaerobic biological treatments, methane fermentation treatment is a biological treatment method that decomposes organic matter in organic wastewater into methane gas, carbon dioxide gas, etc. by utilizing the metabolic reaction of anaerobic microorganisms that grow in an anaerobic environment without oxygen. Is.
Compared to aerobic biological treatment, methane fermentation treatment has the advantage that it generates less sludge and does not require electricity costs such as blowers (aeration), so running costs are not incurred, and the generated methane gas can be effectively used. In recent years, it has attracted particular attention as a method for treating organic wastewater.
As a type of methane fermentation treatment, for example, a methane fermentation treatment method such as UASB (abbreviation of Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket), fixed bed method, fluidized bed method and the like are known. Among them, the UASB method has a feature that the concentration of methane fermenting bacteria in the reactor can be maintained at a high concentration by granulating anaerobic bacteria such as methane fermenting bacteria into a granule shape, and as a result, wastewater. Since it can be efficiently treated even when the concentration of organic substances in methane is considerably high, it is widely used in Japan and overseas as a method for treating organic wastewater.
However, granule sludge may float with gas inside and flow out of the reactor when the load fluctuates. In addition, small molecule organic matter such as methanol cannot maintain the granule sludge itself, and the granule sludge is disassembled and flows out of the reactor. As a result, there was a problem that it was necessary to devote a great deal of effort to the maintenance of the amount of sludge.
Therefore, as an improved version of the UASB method, a methane fermentation method has been developed in which a carrier having a biological film composed of anaerobic bacteria such as methane fermentation bacteria attached is used to stably maintain the amount of sludge. As disclosed in the patent documents described below, the development of a carrier suitable for methane fermentation, a method for promoting the adhesion of anaerobic bacteria to the carrier, and a reaction vessel for flowing the carrier have been promoted.

By adding a polyvinyl alcohol-based carrier to UASB that uses granule sludge composed of methane-fermenting bacteria, stable treatment can be achieved even when it is difficult to form granule sludge in UASB. However, the structure of the reaction vessel is described only in UASB, and a structure suitable for a carrier is not suggested.

In the treatment method in which the carrier to which the anaerobic bacteria is attached is charged, the carrier can be mixed in the tank with low power by the rotary blades provided at the bottom of the treatment tank and near the bottom of the liquid level, and the biogas generated in the tank is further obtained. Is removed from the carrier by a rotary blade, so that the separability between the treated water and the carrier at the carrier separation portion can be improved. However, since the stirring motor is installed in the upper part of the processing tank, there is a problem that the workability is poor due to the work at a high place during maintenance.

In a wastewater treatment apparatus that purifies wastewater under anaerobic conditions using a carrier, a screen for separating the carrier is installed. However, when a large amount of carrier flows out of the anaerobic reaction tank, the screen is frequently clogged and maintenance work is frequently performed.
-Patent Document 4
In an anaerobic treatment apparatus filled with a fluid abiotic carrier, it is possible to prevent the carrier from flowing out from the anaerobic treatment tank by installing a rectifying plate in the treatment tank. However, since the flow in the treatment tank is not controlled, the carrier flows out of the tank by flowing back from the carrier return flow path to the carrier lead-in flow path. If a carrier separation screen is provided in the treated water discharge section, the screen is closed.

In the upward flow reactor filled with activated charcoal as a microbial carrier, the contact reaction between raw water and the microorganisms involved in decomposition is promoted in the lower part of the reactor by having a multi-stage vertical gas / liquid / solid separation part inside. At the same time, it is said that the outflow of the microbial carrier into the treated water can be minimized, and the reactor has a high cell concentration. However, when the load is high, the gas recovery in the gas / liquid / solid separation part below becomes insufficient, so that the gas agitation in the upper part becomes excessive and the microbial carrier flows out into the treated water.

As a method for starting up an anaerobic treatment using a microbial carrier, it is described that a acclimated carrier to which an anaerobic microorganism is attached and a novel carrier to which an anaerobic microorganism is not attached are mixed. However, no structure other than the screen and the stirrer is shown inside the reaction vessel.

An anaerobic treatment device using a microbial mass equipped with a bubble separating member that separates bubbles from the microbial mass inside the reaction vessel, a bubble repair section that collects the separated bubbles, and a solid-liquid separating member that separates the microbial mass from the treated water. Is disclosed. However, the use of microbial carriers is not described. Further, the bubble separating member and the solid-liquid separating member are screens and do not control the flow of water.
As described above, in the prior art, a stirrer, a screen, and a settling pond were required to suppress the outflow of the carrier from the anaerobic reaction vessel. However, the stirrer requires maintenance of machinery, and the screen requires a cleaning device to prevent blockage. The sedimentation pond had the disadvantage of requiring a large installation area. In addition, even if a rectifying wall or vertical air-solid-liquid separation is installed so that a stirrer or screen is not required, the flow in the reaction vessel and gas agitation under high load cannot be controlled, and the carrier flows out. was there.
Therefore, in the present invention, gas-liquid separation and solid-liquid separation can be performed in the reaction vessel (anaerobic reaction means) without installing a device such as a stirrer or a screen that requires maintenance on the upper part of the reaction vessel (anaerobic reaction means). According to the present invention, the baffle forms a swirling flow of the liquid to be treated in the lower part of the reaction vessel, and the liquid to be treated and the carrier are agitated. Further, a swirling flow of the liquid to be treated is formed in the upper part of the reaction tank by the gas collector and the guide wall. Since the guide wall does not allow the passage of the liquid to be treated, the liquid to be treated and the carrier collide with the guide wall after flowing out from the gas collector to form a downward flow. This downward flow can prevent the carrier from heading towards the liquid outlet of the reaction vessel. Further, a solid-liquid separation flow path is formed between the guide wall and the inner surface of the reaction vessel. Since the carrier settles in the solid-liquid separation flow path, it is possible to prevent the carrier from flowing out from the reaction vessel. In addition, the baffle can prevent air bubbles from heading towards the liquid outlet of the reaction vessel, increasing the gas recovery rate. In addition, the baffle prevents the two swirling streams formed at the bottom and top of the reaction vessel from colliding. As a result, turbulence is less likely to occur inside the reaction vessel, and stable treatment of the liquid to be treated can be achieved.
The embodiment described below is an anaerobic treatment apparatus applied to a technique for anaerobically treating organic wastewater with anaerobic microorganisms adhering to a carrier to generate methane gas. It can also be applied to denitrification treatment (anaerobic ammonia oxidation treatment) in which ammonia nitrogen in the liquid to be treated is converted into nitrogen gas by the action of anaerobic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria.

The

[Flow in reaction tank 2]
In FIG. 2, the flow of bubbles made of methane gas is indicated by a dotted arrow, the flow of a carrier is indicated by a dashed-dotted arrow, and the flow of liquid is indicated by a solid arrow.

The carrier to which the anaerobic microorganisms are attached is charged into the
The bubbles and carriers that have flowed into the
Organic wastewater, carriers, and air bubbles flow out from the
A part of the organic wastewater forming the downward flow rises in the
The

[Carrier]
Although the carrier itself is not shown, the carrier is charged into the
The shape of the carrier may be any of spherical, columnar, rectangular parallelepiped, hollow, etc., but the amount of anaerobic microorganisms supported, the contact efficiency between the propagated anaerobic microorganisms and organic waste water, the carrier in the reaction tank 2 A spherical shape is particularly preferable in consideration of the holding amount of the above.
The average value of the carrier (in the case of spherical particles, the median diameter d50, and in the case of other shapes, the arithmetic mean value of the maximum and minimum dimensions) is preferably 0.1 mm or more and 10 mm or less, and particularly 2 mm or more. 6 mm or less is preferable.
The carrier is preferably a porous carrier having pores to which anaerobic microorganisms easily adhere, and the pore diameter is preferably 1 μm or more and 100 μm or less, and particularly preferably 5 μm or more and 50 μm or less.
Further, in order to allow the carrier to flow in the
The material of the carrier may be any material as long as anaerobic microorganisms adhere to it, but activated carbon, polyvinyl alcohol, ethylene glycol and the like are particularly preferable because the above-mentioned requirements are satisfied.
[Organic wastewater]
The COD Cr of the organic wastewater that can be treated by the anaerobic treatment method of the present embodiment is not particularly limited, and the organic matter concentration in the range of 100 mg / L or more and 50,000 mg / L or less is low to high concentration of organic matter. It can be applied to wastewater. In the case of organic wastewater having a high concentration of organic matter, it is preferable to dilute it appropriately in order to alleviate the inhibition of raw water components.
The anaerobic treatment method of the present embodiment is particularly useful for treating organic wastewater having a composition that cannot maintain granule sludge. For example, organic wastewater containing low-molecular-weight organic substances having 5 or less carbon atoms such as ethanol, methanol, and acetic acid, which cannot maintain the granule sludge due to a decrease in the strength of the granule sludge, and a pipe cleaning agent that disassembles the granule sludge. , Effective for treating organic wastewater from beverage factories containing chelating agents, bactericides, etc.

[Gas collector 10]
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the
The

The present invention can be applied not only to the technique for generating methane gas from organic wastewater according to the above-described embodiment, but also to anaerobic ammonia oxidation treatment for removing nitrogen from wastewater such as sewage. The anaerobic ammonia oxidation treatment is a denitrification treatment that converts ammonia nitrogen in the liquid to be treated under anaerobic conditions into nitrogen gas by the action of anaerobic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria.
FIG. 11 is a schematic view showing another embodiment of the anaerobic treatment apparatus provided with the reaction tanks shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. The embodiment of FIG. 11 is an anaerobic treatment apparatus for performing an anaerobic ammonia oxidation treatment. The anaerobic treatment apparatus shown in FIG. 11 includes a
Air is supplied from the
As the carrier to be filled in the
As the shape of the carrier, any of spherical, quadrangular, and cylindrical shapes can be used, and the effective diameter thereof is 2 to 20 mm, which can be stably separated by a screen provided at the outlet of the
In the
In the
In the
As described above, the reaction vessel of the present invention can be applied not only to the treatment of producing methane gas from organic wastewater but also to the anaerobic ammonia oxidation treatment of removing nitrogen from the liquid to be treated.
