ポリマー正温度係数(PPTC)デバイスならびに負温度係数(NTC)デバイスなどの材料は、様々な用途の中、過電流保護デバイスまたは過熱保護デバイス、ならびに電流センサまたは温度センサとして使用され得る。公知の構成において、PPTC材料は、電流を制限するため、または部品の温度を感知するために、一対の電極の間に配置され得る。しかし、PPTCデバイスとNTCデバイスの配置の柔軟性向上が高まることにより、新たな用途が可能になるか、または既存用途の制御が向上する。
Claims (19)
- 熱センサワイヤであって、
前記熱センサワイヤのワイヤ軸に沿って延在する感熱部と、
キャリア部と、を備え、前記キャリア部は、前記感熱部に隣接して前記ワイヤ軸に沿って延在し、前記感熱部は、ポリマー正温度係数(PPTC)材料または負温度係数(NTC)材料を備える、熱センサワイヤ。 - 円形断面または矩形断面を備える、請求項1に記載の熱センサワイヤ。
- 様々な機能特性を有する複数の層を備え、前記感熱部は、導電性を有する第1の層を備え、第2の層は電気的絶縁性を有する、請求項1または2に記載の熱センサワイヤ。
- 前記感熱部は、前記熱センサワイヤの長さに沿った可変断面を備える、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の熱センサワイヤ。
- 前記感熱部は内芯を備え、前記キャリア部は、前記内芯の周囲に周方向に設けられ、前記熱センサワイヤは、前記キャリア部の周囲に設けられたワイヤ被覆をさらに備える、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の熱センサワイヤ。
- 前記内芯は、前記ワイヤ軸に沿って互いに長手方向に設けられた第1の芯セグメントおよび第2の芯セグメントを備え、前記第1の芯セグメントは、導電度が目標温度範囲内で少なくとも1桁変化する転移温度を備え、前記第2の芯セグメントは、前記目標温度範囲内の転移温度を呈しない、請求項5に記載の熱センサワイヤ。
- 前記ワイヤ被覆は、前記第1の芯セグメントの周囲に設けられた第1の被覆セグメントと、前記第2の芯セグメントの周囲に設けられた第2の被覆セグメントと、を備え、前記第1の被覆セグメントは第1の色を有し、前記第2の芯セグメントは、前記第1の色とは異なる第2の色を有する、請求項6に記載の熱センサワイヤ。
- 前記キャリア部の周囲に設けられた外側ワイヤ被覆と、
前記キャリア部内に設けられた複数の内側ワイヤと、をさらに備え、
前記感熱部は、前記複数の内側ワイヤのうちの第1の内側ワイヤ内に設けられ、第1の転移温度を有する第1の感熱材料を備え、
前記複数の内側ワイヤは、前記第1の転移温度とは異なる第2の転移温度を有する第2の感熱材料を備える少なくとも1本の追加ワイヤを備える、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の熱センサワイヤ。 - 前記熱センサワイヤの長さに沿って周期的に異なる長さのセグメントを有する多数のワイヤから形成された複数の積層/カレンダー加工されたセグメントを備える、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の熱センサワイヤ。
- 熱センサワイヤを形成する方法であって、
前記熱センサワイヤの長さに沿って延伸する前記熱センサワイヤのキャリア部を形成することと、
前記熱センサワイヤの長さに沿って延伸し、かつ前記キャリア部に隣接する前記熱センサワイヤの感熱部を感熱材料から形成することと、を備え、
前記感熱材料は、目標温度範囲内での熱転移を特徴とするポリマー正温度係数(PPTC)材料または負温度係数(NTC)材料を備え、前記キャリア部は、前記目標温度範囲内での熱転移を有しないキャリア材料を備える、方法。 - 前記感熱材料を前記熱センサワイヤの内芯部として形成することと、
前記内芯部の周囲に前記キャリア部を形成することと、
を含む、請求項10に記載の方法。 - 前記内芯部を一定の径で押し出すことを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記内芯部に可変径を生成するために前記内芯部を押し出すことを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記感熱材料と前記キャリア部とを多層ワイヤ構成において一連の層として形成することを含む、請求項10から13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記感熱材料を内芯部として形成することは、
前記内芯部の第1の芯セグメントを形成するために前記感熱材料を押し出すことと、
前記感熱材料を押し出した後に、前記内芯部の第2の芯セグメントを形成するために第2の材料を押し出すことと、をさらに含み、前記第1の芯セグメントは、導電度が目標温度範囲内で少なくとも1桁変化する転移温度を備え、前記第2の芯セグメントは、前記目標温度範囲内の転移温度を呈しない、請求項11から14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記キャリア部の周囲に被覆を形成することをさらに含み、前記被覆を形成することは、
前記第1の芯セグメントの周囲に第1の被覆セグメントを形成することと、
前記第2の芯セグメントの周囲に第2の被覆セグメントを形成することと、をさらに含み、前記第1の被覆セグメントは第1の色を有し、前記第2の芯セグメントは、前記第1の色とは異なる第2の色を有する、請求項15に記載の方法。 - 前記感熱材料は、第1の感熱材料および第2の感熱材料を備え、前記第1の感熱材料および前記第2の感熱材料は、前記キャリア材料内に設けられた第1のワイヤおよび第2のワイヤとして押し出され、前記第1の感熱材料は第1の転移温度を備え、前記第2の感熱材料は、前記第1の転移温度とは異なる第2の転移温度を備える、請求項11から16のいずれか一項に記載の方法。

前記電池部と接触して設けられた熱センサワイヤと、を備え、前記熱センサワイヤは、
