Description

Claims (15)
- 原子燃料棒の被覆を製造する方法であって、
セラミック材料の繊維を当該セラミック材料の少なくとも1つの前駆物質を含む混合物で覆うステップと、
当該前駆物質に覆われた繊維を、融点が当該前駆物質が当該セラミック材料に変化する分解温度よりも高い材料製のマンドレルに巻き付けるステップと、
当該前駆物質に覆われた繊維を当該前駆物質の分解温度まで加熱して当該前駆物質を当該セラミック材料に変化させるステップと、
当該マンドレルを少なくとも当該マンドレルの融点まで加熱するステップと
を含む方法。 - 前記セラミック材料に覆われた繊維を前記セラミック材料の結晶化温度まで加熱して非晶質セラミック材料を結晶化するステップ
をさらに含む請求項1の方法。 - 前記セラミック繊維を前記混合物で覆うステップが、前記繊維の上に前記混合物をローラで塗布するプロセス、前記繊維を前記混合物の浴に浸すプロセス、前記繊維に前記混合物をスプレーするプロセス、および前記繊維を前記混合物の浴を通過させるプロセスから成る群より選択した1つ以上の被覆プロセスを使用すること
を特徴とする請求項1の方法。 - 前記混合物は粉末状または粒子状のセラミック材料および担体をさらに含む、請求項1の方法。
- 前記セラミック繊維はSiC繊維であり、前記セラミック材料はSiCである、
請求項1の方法。 - 前記セラミック材料の前記前駆物質は、トリメチルアルミニウム、クロロメチル(トリエトキシ)シラン、ポリカルボシラン、ポリビニルシラン、ポリシラスチレン、およびそれらの組み合わせから成る群より選択される、
請求項1の方法。 - 前記セラミック繊維はAl2O3繊維であり、前記セラミック材料はAl2O3である、

請求項9の方法。 - 前記マンドレルの材料はアルミニウムまたは銅の金属および金属合金から成る群より選択され、前記マンドレルの材料の融点は約200℃〜1083℃の範囲である、
請求項9の方法。 - セラミック材料製の囲繞体を形成するために使用するマンドレルであって、
セルロース材料、金属および金属合金から成る群より選択した融点が200℃〜1600℃の範囲の材料製の細長い3次元構造体であり、当該融点は、トリメチルアルミニウム、クロロメチル(トリエトキシ)シラン、ポリカルボシラン、ポリビニルシラン、ポリシラスチレン、およびそれらの組み合わせから成る群より選択した当該セラミック材料の前駆物質の分解温度より高く、当該マンドレルの上に形成される当該セラミック材料製囲繞体の融点より低いことを特徴とするマンドレル。 - 前記マンドレルの材料はアルミニウム合金および銅合金から成る群より選択した金属合金である、請求項18のマンドレル。
- 前記マンドレルの材料は紙およびボール紙から成る群より選択したセルロース材料であり、前記マンドレルの材料の融点は約258℃の燃焼点である、請求項18のマンドレル。
- 前記セラミック製品はSiCおよびAl2O3から成る群より選択される、請求項23のマンドレル。
