Abstract
Description
一実施形態において、基板に向かって下向きに見た観点から、トップコート層は、名前が示すように、ラベルの最上部層であり、周囲環境に直接さらされる。前記トップコート層は、ポリオレフィンフィルムの上面に直接隣接して構成され、例えば、前記トップコート層はポリオレフィンフィルムの上に位置する。前記トップコートは、バーコードや英数字等の情報を表す表面として機能することができ、熱転写印刷可能である。さらに、前記トップコートは、残りの層を保護し、例えば、前記トップコートは、極限の温度、溶剤、及び/又は摩耗に耐えるように設計/選択されている。一実施形態において、前記トップコートは、例えば、1011オーム未満、1010オーム未満、又は108オーム未満の低い表面抵抗を有する。範囲に関して、前記表面抵抗は、105〜1011オーム、例えば、105〜1010オーム又は105〜108オームの範囲内である。前記表面抵抗が低いと、製造工程時の剥離電圧が減少するばかりでなく、蓄積された静電気エネルギーに対する放出速度もさらに速くなる。前記製造工程は、ダイカット工程及び巻き戻し工程を含み得る。
前記のように、ラベルは、トップコートに直接隣接する少なくとも1つのポリオレフィンフィルムを含み得る。前記ポリオレフィンフィルムには上面と底面がある。基板に向かって下向きに見た観点から、ポリオレフィンフィルムはトップコートの下に構成されてもよく、例えば、ポリオレフィンフィルムの上面はトップコートに隣接する。
プライマー層は、ポリオレフィンフィルムに直接隣接してトップコートとは反対側の表面のポリオレフィンフィルム上にあってもよく、例えば、ポリオレフィンフィルムはトップコートとプライマー層との間に設けられてもよい。プライマー層は、ポリエステル−アミノ樹脂及び導電性粒子を含んでもよい。プライマー層に採用されるポリエステル−アミノ樹脂及び導電性粒子は、トップコートについて前述したとおりであってもよいが、プライマー層及びトップコートの最終組成物は異なっていてもよい。また、トップコートについて説明した任意の添加剤をプライマー層に利用してもよい。一部の実施形態において、トップコートの組成物は、プライマー層の組成物とは異なる。例えば、プライマー層は、トップコートと同じポリエステル−アミノ樹脂、同じ導電性粒子を含むが、本明細書に記載のものと異なる添加剤を含んでもよい。場合によっては、トップコートの組成物はプライマー層の組成物と同じであってもよい。他の場合において、プライマー層上に熱転写印刷がないため、プライマー層はトップコートよりも高い割合の導電性粒子を含み得る。例えば、導電性粒子は、トップコートの総重量を基準として1〜90重量%、例えば、5〜80重量%、又は10〜70重量%で存在し得る。上限に関して、トップコートは、トップコートの総重量を基準として90重量%以下、例えば、80重量%以下、又は70重量%以下の導電性粒子を含む。下限に関して、トップコートは、トップコートの総重量を基準として少なくとも1重量%、例えば、少なくとも5重量%、又は少なくとも10重量%の導電性粒子を含む。
本発明の所定の実施形態に係る接着剤層は、ラベルを貼り付けることができる基材の外側表面にラベルを結合するのに効果的な任意の接着剤を含み得る。
本発明の所定の実施形態によれば、ラベルは、剥離可能なライナーを含み得る。剥離可能なライナーは、接着剤層に直接隣接してプライマー層とは反対側の接着剤層上に位置してもよい。これに関して、剥離可能なライナーは、ラベルを製造、印刷、輸送、保管、及びその他の時間の間に物体やフェイスストックに適用する(又は適用しようとする)前に、接着剤層を保護することができる。剥離可能なライナーに適した任意の材料を使用してもよい。本発明の実施形態に好適な代表的な市販の剥離可能なライナーは、1011、22533及び11404のような製品、CPフィルム及びAkrosilTMを含む、ロパレックスから入手可能なもの等のシリコーン処理された剥離紙又はフィルムを含むことができる。
トップコート、プライマー、及び/又は接着剤層は、1つ以上の充填剤及び/又は添加剤を任意に含み得る。そのような充填剤及び/又は添加剤は、例えば、従来の機器及び技術を利用して、従来の量でトップコート層に組み込まれてもよい。例えば、代表的な充填剤には、タルク、炭酸カルシウム、有機粘土、ガラス繊維、マーブルダスト、セメントダスト、長石、シリカ又はガラス、ヒュームドシリカ、ケイ酸塩、アルミナ、各種のリン化合物、臭化アンモニウム、二酸化チタン、三酸化アンチモン、三酸化アンチモン、酸化亜鉛、ホウ酸亜鉛、硫酸バリウム、シリコーン、ケイ酸アルミニウム、ケイ酸カルシウム、ガラス微小球、チョーク、マイカ、粘土、ウォラストナイト、オクタモリブデン酸アンモニウム、膨張性化合物及びこれらの材料の2つ以上の混合物を含むことができる。充填剤はまた、シラン、脂肪酸等の様々な表面コーティング剤又は処理剤を担持又は含有してもよい。さらに他の充填剤は、ハロゲン化有機化合物等の難燃剤を含むことができる。所定の実施形態において、トップコート層は、エーテル化メラミン、ヒドロキシル化ポリエステル、ポリエステル−メラミン、及び他の適切なエラストマー等、前記層の他の構成成分と互換性のある1つ以上の熱可塑性エラストマーを含み得る。
実施形態1:(i)ポリエステル−アミノ樹脂を含むトップコートと、(ii)ポリオレフィンフィルムと、(iii)プライマー層と、(iv)接着剤層とを含むラベル。
本発明に係るラベルは、以下のように製造した。ラベルには、最上部から最下部の順に、トップコート、ポリイミドフィルム、プライマー層、接着剤層、及びライナーを含んでいた。トップコートは、ポリエステル−メラミン樹脂から形成され、10ミクロンの厚さを有し、20重量%の導電性TiO2を含んでいた。トップコートの表面抵抗は107〜108オームであった。また、プライマー層はポリエステル−メラミン樹脂から形成され、1〜2ミクロンの厚さを有し、70重量%の導電性TiO2を含んでいた。プライマー層の表面抵抗は107〜108オームであった。接着剤層は感圧接着剤を含み、27ミクロンの厚さを有し、2重量%のニッケルを含んでいた。接着剤層の表面抵抗は107〜108オームであった。接着剤層の剥離強度は、スチールパネルからの剥離によって測定した時、9N/インチよりも大きかった。
プライマー層が20重量%の導電性TiO2を含有することを除いては、実施例1と同様にラベルを製造した。プライマー層の表面抵抗は109〜1010オームであった。接着剤層は27ミクロンの厚さを有し、2重量%のニッケルを含んでいた。接着剤層の表面抵抗は109〜1010オームであった。接着剤層の剥離強度は、スチールパネルからの剥離によって測定した時、9N/インチよりも大きかった。
プライマー層を省略し、接着剤層が約60重量%の導電性ニッケル粉末を含有するように調整したことを除いては、前記と同様にラベルを製造した。接着剤層の表面抵抗は1012オームを超えており、接着剤性能は実施例1と比較した時、ほぼゼロまで低下した。
トップコートが70重量%の導電性TiO2を含有することを除いては、実施例1と同様にラベルを製造した。トップコートの表面抵抗は106〜107オームであったが、TT−印刷性能は非常に劣っていた。
接着剤層が20重量%のニッケルを含有することを除いては、実施例1と同様にラベルを調製した。接着剤層の表面抵抗は107〜108オームであった。接着剤層の剥離強度は、スチールパネルからの剥離によって測定した時、5N/インチ未満であった。
Claims (27)
- (i)ポリエステル−アミノ樹脂を含むトップコートと、
(ii)ポリオレフィンフィルムと、
(iii)プライマー層と、
(iv)接着剤層とを含む、ラベル。 - 前記ラベルが(v)剥離可能なライナーをさらに含む、請求項1に記載のラベル。
- 前記トップコートが20〜70重量%のポリエステル−アミノ樹脂を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記トップコートが10〜30重量%の導電性粒子をさらに含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記トップコートが、金属粒子、金属被覆粒子、導電性シェルを有する無機酸化物粒子、炭素粒子、グラファイト粒子、導電性ポリマー粒子、及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される導電性粒子をさらに含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記トップコートが導電性二酸化チタン粒子をさらに含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記プライマー層がポリエステル−アミノ樹脂を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記プライマー層が導電性粒子を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記プライマー層が1〜90重量%の導電性粒子を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記プライマー層が導電性二酸化チタン粒子をさらに含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記トップコート、プライマー層及び接着剤層は導電性粒子を含み、前記接着剤層中の導電性粒子は前記トップコート及び/又はプライマー層中の導電性粒子とは異なる、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記トップコート及びプライマー層は導電性二酸化チタン粒子を含み、前記接着剤層は導電性ニッケル粒子を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記ポリオレフィンフィルムは、ポリイミド、ポリエステル、ポリエーテルイミド(PE1)、ポリエチレンナフタレート(PEN)、ポリエーテルスルホン(PES)、ポリスルホン、ポリメチルペンテン(PMP)、ポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)、エチレン−クロロトリフルオロエチレン(ECTFE)、又はそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される材料を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記ポリオレフィンフィルムが少なくとも1つのポリイミドを含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記接着剤層が感圧接着剤を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記接着剤層が導電性粒子を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記接着層が導電性ニッケル粒子を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記接着剤層が、前記接着剤層の総重量を基準として1〜20重量%の導電性粒子を含む、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記トップコートが1〜50ミクロンの厚さを有する、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記ポリオレフィンフィルムが1〜400ミクロンの厚さを有する、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記プライマー層が0.01〜50ミクロンの厚さを有する、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記接着剤層が1〜200ミクロンの厚さを有する、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記ラベルが50V未満の剥離電圧を有する、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記トップコートが1011オーム未満の表面抵抗を有する、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記プライマー層が109オーム未満の表面抵抗を有する、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
- 前記接着剤層が109オーム未満の表面抵抗を有する、先行する請求項のいずれか一項に記載のラベル。
