Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a carbon dioxide separation and recovery technique for separating and recovering carbon dioxide in a gas to be treated using a carbon dioxide adsorbent.
Conventionally, a carbon dioxide separation and recovery system that separates and recovers carbon dioxide in a gas to be treated using a carbon dioxide adsorbent is known. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses this type of carbon dioxide separation and recovery system.
The carbon dioxide separation and recovery system of Patent Document 1 is a moving bed system in which a carbon dioxide adsorbent is continuously transferred in the order of an adsorption tower, a regeneration tower, a drying tower, and a cooling tower. In the adsorption tower, the adsorbent is brought into contact with the gas to be treated containing carbon dioxide, and the carbon dioxide in the gas to be treated is adsorbed on the adsorbent. In the regeneration tower, the adsorbent that has adsorbed carbon dioxide is brought into contact with saturated vapor, and carbon dioxide is desorbed from the adsorbent. The released carbon dioxide is stored in the carbon dioxide holder. In the drying tower, the adsorbent to which the condensed water of the saturated vapor adheres in the regeneration tower is dried by heating. In the cooling tower, the dried adsorbent is cooled to a temperature suitable for carbon dioxide adsorption. The cooled adsorbent is returned to the adsorption tower by the conveyor.
An example of the gas to be treated by the carbon dioxide separation and recovery system as described above is industrial exhaust gas containing carbon dioxide. With regard to the treatment of such exhaust gas, reduction of equipment cost and operation cost and reduction of energy consumption are especially required. From this point of view, there is still room for improvement in the dioxide end separation and recovery system of Patent Document 1 described above.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to realize a reduction in facility cost and operating cost in the carbon dioxide separation and capture technology as compared with the conventional system described in Patent Document 1. To do.
In Patent Document 1, a negative pressure saturated vapor is supplied to a regeneration container (regeneration tower) in order to regenerate the carbon dioxide adsorbent. Saturated vapor condenses on the surface of the adsorbent, releasing heat of condensation at that time. This heat of condensation is used as energy for desorbing carbon dioxide from the adsorbent. However, in such a method for regenerating a carbon dioxide adsorbent, condensed water adheres to the surface of the adsorbent, so that a drying tower for drying the adsorbent is required on the downstream side of the regeneration container. In the drying tower, the equipment cost is increased due to the installation of the processing container and its associated equipment (for example, a blower and a heating device), and the operating cost is increased due to the large energy consumption. In the conventional system, the size of the drying tower is larger than that of the absorption tower or the regeneration tower, so that the drying tower has a large influence on the size of the entire system. Further, since the adsorbent dried in the drying tower has a temperature higher than the temperature suitable for the carbon dioxide adsorption reaction, a cooling tower for cooling the adsorbent is required on the downstream side of the drying tower. Therefore, in order to reduce the equipment cost and operating cost of the carbon dioxide separation and recovery system, it is effective to omit or downsize the drying tower and the cooling tower provided in the conventional system.
Therefore, the inventors of the present application reduce the condensed water adhering to the surface of the adsorbent by adopting a method of regenerating the carbon dioxide adsorbent different from the carbon dioxide separation and recovery system of Patent Document 1, and It has been conceived to omit or downsize the drying tower and the cooling tower included in the system.

The carbon dioxide separation and recovery method according to one aspect of the present invention,
Contacting a particulate carbon dioxide adsorbent and a treatment target gas containing carbon dioxide, adsorbing carbon dioxide contained in the treatment target gas to the carbon dioxide adsorbent,
The carbon dioxide adsorbent that has adsorbed carbon dioxide is brought into contact with superheated steam to regenerate the carbon dioxide adsorbent by desorbing carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide adsorbent and recover the desorbed carbon dioxide. Including steps and
The saturation temperature of the superheated steam to be contacted with the carbon dioxide adsorbent is equal to or lower than the temperature of the carbon dioxide adsorbent to be contacted with the superheated steam,
The regenerated carbon dioxide adsorbent is reused for adsorbing carbon dioxide without a drying step.
In the above carbon dioxide separation recovery system and method, in order to regenerate the carbon dioxide adsorbent, the carbon dioxide adsorbent and the superheated steam are brought into contact with each other. Here, the carbon dioxide partial pressure (carbon dioxide concentration) of the superheated steam is significantly lower than the carbon dioxide partial pressure (carbon dioxide concentration) on the surface of the carbon dioxide adsorbing material. This difference in carbon dioxide partial pressure serves as a driving force, and the carbon dioxide adsorbed on the carbon dioxide adsorbing material diffuses into the superheated steam. As a result, carbon dioxide is released from the carbon dioxide adsorbent and the carbon dioxide adsorbent is regenerated.
In the above, since the saturation temperature of the superheated steam in contact with the carbon dioxide adsorbent is equal to or lower than the temperature of the carbon dioxide adsorbent, vapor condensation does not occur on the surface of the carbon dioxide adsorbent, or vapor condensation occurs. Even if it does, the amount of condensation is suppressed. Therefore, the amount of condensed water adhering to the surface of the carbon dioxide adsorbent can be suppressed. In addition, the temperature rise of the carbon dioxide adsorbent due to the heat of condensation can be suppressed. Further, since the superheated steam has a lower relative humidity than the saturated steam, the condensed water adhering to the surface of the carbon dioxide adsorbent is further effectively reduced.
As described above, since it is possible to suppress the amount of condensed water adhering to the surface of the carbon dioxide adsorbent after the regeneration, the drying tower (and the cooling tower provided in the conventional system for drying the carbon dioxide adsorbent is provided. ) Can be omitted or the size can be reduced. That is, it is possible to reduce the equipment cost and the operating cost of the drying tower (and the cooling tower), which accounted for a large proportion in the conventional system. As a result, it is possible to reduce the facility cost and operating cost of the carbon dioxide separation and capture system.
In the above carbon dioxide separation and recovery system, the carbon dioxide recovery line may include a condenser that condenses water in the recovered gas.
In the above carbon dioxide separation and recovery system, most of the water supplied to the regeneration container through the superheated steam supply line does not condense on the surface of the carbon dioxide adsorbing material, and most of it flows out to the carbon dioxide recovery line. Therefore, the recovered gas flowing into the carbon dioxide recovery line contains a large amount of water. A part or all of this moisture is condensed by the condenser and removed from the recovered gas, so that the carbon dioxide concentration of the recovered gas can be increased.
In the carbon dioxide separation recovery system, the carbon dioxide recovery line has a compression pump that compresses the recovery gas, and a carbon dioxide holder that stores the compressed recovery gas, and the compression pump is in the processing container. May be forcibly inhaled so as to have the predetermined pressure.
As a result, the carbon dioxide contained in the recovered gas can be recovered at a high concentration in the carbon dioxide holder, and the pressure of the superheated steam contacting the carbon dioxide adsorbent can be adjusted to a predetermined pressure.
In the above carbon dioxide separation and recovery system, the temperature of the superheated steam may be higher than the temperature of the carbon dioxide adsorbent that contacts the superheated steam.
As a result, if the amount of steam supplied is constant, the humidity of the superheated steam decreases as the absolute temperature of the superheated steam increases, so that the amount of condensation of steam on the surface of the carbon dioxide adsorbent can be suppressed. ..
According to the present invention, in the carbon dioxide separation and capture technology, it is possible to reduce the equipment cost and the operating cost by reducing or downsizing the drying tower and the cooling tower included in the conventional system.
In the carbon dioxide separation and recovery system according to the present invention, the carbon dioxide is adsorbed by contacting the particulate carbon dioxide adsorbent (hereinafter, simply referred to as “adsorbent”) and the gas to be treated containing carbon dioxide. A process of adsorbing carbon dioxide and a process of regenerating the adsorbent by contacting the adsorbent having adsorbed the carbon dioxide with the superheated steam to separate (desorb) the carbon dioxide from the adsorbent are performed. The carbon dioxide released from the adsorbent is recovered.
The gas to be treated is, for example, combustion exhaust gas. The adsorbent is, for example, a porous substance carrying an amine compound. Activated carbon, activated alumina, or the like can be used as the porous material. Hereinafter, a first embodiment and a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[First Embodiment]
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the overall configuration of a carbon dioxide separation and recovery system 1A according to the first embodiment of the present invention. A carbon dioxide separation and recovery system 1A shown in FIG. 1 is a system including a plurality of moving bed type processing containers (adsorption container 3 and regeneration container 4).
The carbon dioxide separation / recovery system 1A includes an adsorption container 3, a regeneration container 4, a processing target
The adsorbent 10 conveyed by the
A processing target
In the adsorption container 3, a countercurrent type moving layer is formed in which the gas to be treated flowing upward and the adsorbent 10 moving downward are in continuous contact with each other. When the gas to be treated comes into contact with the adsorbent 10, the adsorbent 10 selectively adsorbs carbon dioxide in the gas to be treated. The temperature of the adsorbent 10 at that time is 40 ° C., for example.
A processing
A regeneration container 4 is arranged below the adsorption container 3, and a lower outlet of the adsorption container 3 and an upper inlet of the regeneration container 4 are connected via a pressure switching device (not shown) such as a lock hopper. Has been done. The adsorbent 10 discharged from the adsorption container 3 flows into the regeneration container 4 by its own weight from the upper inlet. In the regeneration container 4, the adsorbent 10 that has adsorbed carbon dioxide moves from top to bottom at a predetermined speed.
A superheated
In the regeneration container 4, the carbon dioxide partial pressure (carbon dioxide concentration) of the superheated steam contacting the adsorbent 10 is significantly lower than the carbon dioxide partial pressure (carbon dioxide concentration) on the surface of the adsorbent 10. This difference in carbon dioxide partial pressure serves as a driving force, and the carbon dioxide adsorbed on the adsorbent 10 diffuses into the superheated steam. In this way, carbon dioxide is released from the adsorbent 10 by using the difference between the carbon dioxide partial pressure of the superheated steam and the carbon dioxide partial pressure on the surface of the adsorbent 10 as a driving force, and the adsorbent 10 is regenerated.
A carbon
The pressure inside the regeneration container 4 is detected by the
The regenerated
As described above, the carbon dioxide separation / recovery system 1A includes the adsorption container 3 into which the
Further, in the carbon dioxide separation and recovery method carried out by the carbon dioxide separation and recovery system 1A having the above-mentioned configuration, the
The carbon dioxide separation and recovery system 1A is characterized in that the pressure of the superheated steam in the regeneration container 4 is a predetermined pressure equal to or lower than the saturated steam pressure at the temperature of the adsorbent 10 in contact with the superheated steam. Similarly, the carbon dioxide separation / recovery system is characterized in that the saturation temperature of the superheated steam which is brought into contact with the adsorbent 10 is equal to or lower than the temperature of the adsorbent 10 which is brought into contact with the superheated steam. The “temperature of the adsorbent 10 in contact with the superheated steam” means the average temperature of the adsorbent 10 in the regeneration container 4, the temperature of the adsorbent 10 at the upper inlet of the regeneration container 4, or the upper and lower intermediate positions of the regeneration container 4. It may be the temperature of the adsorbent 10. The lower limit of the saturation temperature of the superheated steam is not particularly limited, but in consideration of the drying efficiency of the adsorbent 10, the lower limit of the saturation temperature is about 15 ° C. lower than the temperature of the adsorbent 10 in contact with the superheated steam. May be set.
For example, when the temperature of the adsorbent 10 in the regeneration container 4 is about 60 ° C., the superheated steam having a saturation temperature of about 50 ° C. and about 70 ° C. is brought into contact with the adsorbent 10. Therefore, the pressure inside the regenerator 4 is reduced by the
Further, for example, when the temperature of the adsorbent 10 in the regeneration container 4 is about 60 ° C., the superheated steam having a saturation temperature of about 60 ° C. and about 70 ° C. is brought into contact with the adsorbent 10. Therefore, the pressure inside the regeneration container 4 is reduced by the
As described above, since the saturation temperature of the superheated steam in contact with the adsorbent 10 is equal to or lower than the temperature of the adsorbent 10, the vapor does not condense on the surface of the adsorbent 10, or even if condensation occurs, it does not condense. The amount is suppressed. Therefore, the amount of condensed water adhering to the surface of the adsorbent 10 can be suppressed. In addition, the temperature rise of the adsorbent 10 due to the heat of condensation can be suppressed.
The temperature of the superheated steam is preferably higher than that of the adsorbent 10 that comes into contact with the superheated steam. The upper limit value of the temperature of the superheated steam is not particularly limited, but in consideration of the generation energy of the superheated steam, the operating energy of the
Further, since the superheated steam has a lower relative humidity than the saturated steam, the condensed water adhering to the surface of the adsorbent 10 is effectively reduced. If the amount of steam to be supplied is constant, the humidity of the superheated steam becomes lower as the absolute temperature of the superheated steam becomes higher. Therefore, the temperature of the superheated steam is higher than that of the adsorbent 10 in contact with the superheated steam as described above. By doing so, the amount of vapor condensed on the surface of the carbon dioxide adsorbent can be suppressed more effectively.
In this way, the amount of condensed water adhering to the surface of the adsorbent 10 after regeneration can be suppressed, so that the drying tower (and the cooling tower) provided in the conventional system for drying the adsorbent 10 can be omitted. Alternatively, the size can be reduced. That is, it is possible to reduce the equipment cost and the operating cost of the drying tower (and the cooling tower), which accounted for a large proportion in the conventional system. As a result, it is possible to realize a reduction in equipment cost and operating cost of the carbon dioxide separation and recovery system 1A.
In the carbon dioxide separation and recovery system 1A, most of the water supplied to the regeneration container 4 through the superheated

[Second Embodiment]
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing the overall configuration of a carbon dioxide separation and

In the carbon dioxide separation /

In the carbon dioxide separation and
Then, by switching to a state in which the superheated
Also in the carbon dioxide separation and
As described above, since the saturation temperature of the superheated steam in contact with the adsorbent 10 is equal to or lower than the temperature of the adsorbent 10, the vapor does not condense on the surface of the adsorbent 10, or even if condensation occurs, it does not condense. The amount is suppressed. Therefore, the amount of condensed water adhering to the surface of the adsorbent 10 can be suppressed. In addition, the temperature rise of the adsorbent 10 due to the heat of condensation can be suppressed.
Further, since the superheated steam has a lower relative humidity than the saturated steam, the condensed water adhering to the surface of the adsorbent 10 is effectively reduced.
In this way, the amount of condensed water adhering to the surface of the adsorbent 10 after regeneration can be suppressed, so that a drying line for drying the adsorbent 10 after regeneration can be omitted or downsized. .. The conventional drying line includes, for example, a drying air generator and a blower that sends the drying air to the adsorbent 10. In this way, equipment costs and operating costs for drying the adsorbent 10 after regeneration can be suppressed. As a result, it is possible to reduce the equipment cost and operating cost of the carbon dioxide separation and
