Abstract
Description
a.それぞれが末端官能基を有する第1の水溶性ポリマー前駆体及び第2の水溶性ポリマー前駆体、並びに任意選択で開始剤触媒を含む流動性水溶液を、拡張性部材内部の空間と連通する管に導入するか、又は拡張性部材に直接導入すること、
b.ステップ(a)からの流動性水溶液に粉体状の熱活性化低温フリーラジカル開始剤を導入すること、
c.フリーラジカル開始剤を流動性水溶液中に溶解させること、
d.ステップ(a)において、前もって開始剤触媒を導入しなかった場合は、ステップ(c)からの溶液に開始剤触媒を導入すること、並びに
e.拡張性部材内部の空間に実質的に非生分解性の固体材料を生成するために、ポリマー前駆体上の官能基を共有結合させること
による、方法を対象とする。流動性水溶液は、それぞれが個別の充填管に導入される第1の原料溶液と第2の原料溶液との混合によって生成でき、各原料溶液は、ポリマー前駆体のうち一方を含み、又は第1のポリマー前駆体及び第2のポリマー前駆体の両方を含むただ1つの原料溶液を利用する場合は、流動性水溶液は、一方の原料溶液と同一であり、単一充填管に導入する。触媒は、原料溶液中に存在できるか、又は開始剤の導入前若しくは導入後に添加できる。
a.それぞれが末端官能基を有する第1の水溶性ポリマー前駆体及び第2の水溶性ポリマー前駆体、並びに任意選択で開始剤触媒を含む流動性水溶液を、拡張性部材内部の空間と連通する管に導入するか、又は拡張性部材に直接導入すること、
b.ステップ(a)からの流動性水溶液内に、粉体状の熱活性化低温フリーラジカル開始剤を導入すること、
c.フリーラジカル開始剤を流動性水溶液中に溶解させること、
d.ステップ(a)において、前もって開始剤触媒を導入しなかった場合は、ステップ(c)からの溶液内に開始剤触媒を導入すること、並びに
e.拡張性部材内部の空間に実質的に非生分解性の固体材料を生成するために、ポリマー前駆体上の官能基を共有結合させること
による、方法を含む。
Claims (15)
- 患者体内の動脈瘤を治療するシステムであって、前記システムは、
前記患者体内に移送し、拡張するように適合した拡張性部材;
末端官能基を有する第1の水溶性ポリマーを有する第1の原料溶液;
末端官能基を有する第2の水溶性ポリマーを有する第2の原料溶液;
前記拡張性部材内部の空間と流体連通する前記第1と第2の原料溶液;並びに
前記第1の原料溶液、前記第2の原料溶液、開始剤触媒およびフリーラジカル開始剤の組み合わせから生成される流動性水溶液
を備え、前記溶液及び前記開始剤は、前記拡張性部材内部の空間に実質的に非生分解性の固体材料を原位置で生成するために、前記第1と第2の水溶性ポリマー前駆体上の官能基を共有結合させるように適合する、システム。 - 前記拡張性部材から上流の管内に配置した、上流側及び下流側を有するフィルタ
を更に備える、請求項1に記載のシステムであって、前記フリーラジカル開始剤は、前記流動性水溶液が前記フィルタを通過すると前記フリーラジカル開始剤が前記流動性水溶液中に溶解するように、前記フィルタの前記上流側に配置する、システム。 - 前記フリーラジカル開始剤は、前記フィルタの前記上流側に固定する、請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記フリーラジカル開始剤は、前記拡張性部材内に配置し、それにより、前記フリーラジカル開始剤は、前記流動性水溶液が前記拡張性部材に入ると前記流動性水溶液中に溶解する、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記拡張性部材と流体連通する容器
を更に備える、請求項1に記載のシステムであって、前記フリーラジカル開始剤は、前記容器内に配置し、前記容器は、前記流動性水溶液の一部を前記拡張性部材から前記容器内に引き抜くように適合され、それにより、前記フリーラジカル開始剤は前記流動性水溶液中に溶解し、得られた混合溶液は前記拡張性部材に再度導入する、システム。 - 前記流動性水溶液は、第1の原料溶液と第2の原料溶液との混合液であり、前記第1の原料溶液は、前記第1の水溶性ポリマー前駆体を含み、前記第2の原料溶液は、前記第2の水溶性ポリマー前駆体を含む、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記フリーラジカル開始剤と接触させる前に、前記第1の原料溶液及び前記第2の原料溶液を中で混合するマニホルド
を更に備える、請求項6に記載のシステムであって、前記マニホルドは、任意選択で、統合したフィルタを含む、システム。 - 前記フリーラジカル開始剤は、過硫酸ナトリウム、過硫酸カリウム又は過硫酸アンモニウムである、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の水溶性ポリマー前駆体は、線状ポリマー前駆体であり、前記第2の水溶性ポリマー前駆体は、分岐状ポリマー前駆体である、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の水溶性ポリマー前駆体は、2つのアクリル酸基で末端を誘導体化した、20から50キロダルトンの間の分子の質量を有する線状ポリエチレングリコールであり、前記第2の水溶性ポリマー前駆体は、3つのアクリル酸基で末端を誘導体化した、800ダルトンから1.2キロダルトンの分子の質量を有する分岐状ポリエチレングリコールオリゴマーである、請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記分岐状ポリマー前駆体対前記線状ポリマー前駆体のモル比は、200:1から1000:1の間である、請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記分岐状ポリマー対前記フリーラジカル開始剤のモル比は、2:1から15:1の間である、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記フリーラジカル開始剤及び前記開始剤触媒は、1:1のモル比で存在する、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の原料溶液又は前記第2の原料溶液のいずれかは、前記開始剤触媒を含む、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 患者体内の動脈瘤の治療に使用するシステムの作動方法であって、
前記システムは、前記患者体内に移送し、拡張するよう適合した拡張性部材を備え、前記方法は、
a.末端官能基を有する第1の水溶性ポリマーを有する第1の原料溶液を提供すること;
b.末端官能基を有する第2の水溶性ポリマーを有する第2の原料溶液を提供すること;
c.流動性水溶液を生成するために、前記第1の原料溶液、前記第2の原料溶液、開始剤触媒およびフリーラジカル開始剤を組み合わせること;
d.前記流動性水溶液を前記拡張性部材に導入すること;並びに
e.前記拡張性部材内部の空間に実質的に非生分解性の固体材料を生成するために、前記第1および第2の水溶性ポリマー前駆体上の官能基を共有結合させること
を含む
