The pH is preferably 7.1 to 13, and more preferably around 8.0 (7.5 to 8.4) from the viewpoint of safety and ease of adjustment. Furthermore, the deodorant contains a buffer and preferably has a buffer action.

2. EXAMPLES The inventors of the present application prepared the deodorant according to one embodiment. Furthermore, the inventors sprayed the adjusted deodorant into the air in the room, and evaluated the odor after spraying using a sensory test by 10 testers.

The deodorant was adjusted as follows. First, the component (A) was added to water. As component (A), hydrochloric acid (an example of inorganic acid; experimental example 1), benzoic acid (an example of monovalent carboxylic acid. Experimental example 2), malic acid (an example of divalent carboxylic acid. Experimental example 3), citric acid An acid (an example of a trivalent carboxylic acid; experimental example 4) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (an example of a tetravalent carboxylic acid; experimental examples 5 and 6) were used. The component (A) was adjusted to a concentration of 1 mM.

Next, an alkaline solution was added to the aqueous solution. NaOH was used as the alkaline solution. The alkaline solution was added until pH 8.0. In some samples (Experimental Example 6), buffer was added. As a buffer solution, trishydroxymethylaminomethane was used. Tris-hydroxymethylaminomethane was added to be 10 mM.

Figure 2019122443
The composition of each sample (Experimental Examples 1 to 6) is as follows. Other than the components listed in the following table are not included.
Figure 2019122443

The sensory test for confirming the deodorizing effect was done using the deodorizer of Experimental example 1-7. The test method is as follows. First, spray a detergent containing chlorine (chlorinated detergent) on the plastic surface. Thereafter, the deodorant of each of Experimental Examples 1 to 7 is sprayed. Ten panelists assess the odor after spraying. The odor is evaluated in the following five steps.
1: No change (with chlorine smell)
2: I feel that the chlorine smell has been reduced.
3: The chlorine smell is reduced, but the chlorine smell still remains.
4: It can be understood that the chlorine smell has disappeared but it is not complete (some chlorine smell remains).
5: The chlorine smell completely disappeared.

Figure 2019122443
Table 2 shows the result of the sensory test.
Figure 2019122443
The odor level was scored (Level 1: 1 points, Level 5: 5 points), and the average value of the evaluation results by 10 test members was described as an average score. According to this result, the deodorant (Experimental Example 6) to which the buffer solution of component (C) was added using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid as component (A) had the highest deodorizing effect. Then, in the sample to which the buffer solution was not added, the deodorizing effect of the sample (Experimental Example 2) using benzoic acid as the component (A) and the sample (Experimental Example 5) using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid was high. As compared with the sample (Experimental Example 1) using the inorganic acid, the deodorizing effect was higher in the samples (Experimental Examples 2 to 6) using the organic acid. In addition, it was confirmed that there is a deodorizing effect also in the sample (experimental example 1) which used the inorganic acid compared with the simple hydrochloric acid (experimental example 7).
