ヒノキ酸、塩化ベンザルコニウム、及びイソプロピルメチルフェノールを、それぞれDMSOに溶解した(4mg/mL)。該溶液を適宜倍数希釈することにより、各種の濃度(終濃度;400、200、100、50、25、12.5mg/L)に調製された試験溶液を調製した。菌体ストック(グリセロール)をMIC測定用培地(日水製薬社製)に添加して24時間培養した。培養液をMIC測定用培地で1/20に希釈(OD600=0.1)した。該希釈液を96穴ウェルプレートに135μLずつ分注した。次いで、上記試験溶液を15μL添加し、培養を行った。S.epidemidisでは37℃で30時間培養し、C.xerosisでは30℃で5日間培養した。ウェル底面に菌の沈殿を確認することにより、最小発育阻止濃度(MIC;mg/L)を求めた。その結果を表1に示す。   Hinocic acid, benzalkonium chloride, and isopropylmethylphenol were each dissolved in DMSO (4 mg / mL).
