Abstract
Description
以下の実施形態は、本開示の特定の特徴を説明するために列挙されており、
限定することを意図するものではない。
ベルトを移動させるための第1のローラと、
ベルトを移動させるための第2のローラと、
第1のローラ及び第2のローラの周囲でテンションをかけられたベルトと、
ベルトに面するように配置された堆積ステーションであって、
第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層をベルトに付着させるための第1の堆積要素と、
リンス要素と、
第2の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層をベルトに付着させるための第2の堆積要素と、を含む、堆積ステーションと、
堆積ステーションの下流に配置されて、ベルト上に上流方向に吹きつけるガスカーテンを提供する、方向性ガスカーテン生成要素と、を備える装置。
第2の自己制限的単層形成材料は、カチオン性材料又はアニオン性材料のうちの1つだけであり、
第1の自己制限的単層形成材料及び第2の自己制限的単層形成材料のうちの一方だけがカチオン性材料であり、他方がアニオン性材料であることを条件とする、
実施形態1〜12のいずれかに記載の装置。
(a)ベルトが堆積ステーションに面するように、第1のローラ及び第2のローラの周囲でベルトの形態をした基材にテンションをかけることであって、
堆積ステーションは、
第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の少なくとも単層をベルトに付着させるための第1の堆積要素を含む、ことと、
(b)第1の堆積要素を連動させてベルト上に第1の自己制限的単層形成材料を含む第1の液体を適用しながら、ベルトを最初の回転の間、第1のローラ及び第2のローラの周囲で移動させることと、
(c)堆積ステーションの下流に配置された方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を連動させて、ベルトからの液体の計量とベルトの乾燥を同時に行うガスカーテンを提供することと、を含む方法。
第1の堆積要素の下流に配置されたリンス要素と、
当該リンス要素の下流に配置されて第2の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層をベルトに付着させるための第2の堆積要素と、を更に含み、
当該方法は、
(d)リンス要素を連動させることと、
(e)第2の堆積要素を連動させてベルト上に第2の自己制限的単層形成材料の少なくとも単層を付着させることと、を更に含む、実施形態14に記載の方法。
(f)堆積ステーションを解除することと、
(g)堆積ステーションが解除されている間にベルトを第2のローラから第1のローラに巻き戻すことと、を更に含む、実施形態18に記載の方法。
材料
ポリジアリルジメチルアンモニウムクロライド(PDAC)は水中の20mM(繰り返し単位質量に基づく)溶液として使用し、分子量(MW)100〜200Kを有し、Sigma Aldrich(St.Louis,MO,USA)から水中20重量%溶液として入手した。
図1に記載された装置を使用して、本明細書に記載されたデータを生成した。操作条件は表1に記載されている。PDACを繰り返し単位に関して20mMの濃度で使用し、TMAOHの添加によりpHを10.0に調整した。SiO2は、TMACl(最終TMACl濃度は48mM)と混合した9.6g/Lの濃度で使用し、TMAOHの添加によりpHを11.5に調整した。
PDAC溶液をベルトの全回転の間スプレーした。これに続いて、全回転の間のDI水を大量に用いてリンスすること、次に少量でリンスすること、続いて相補的なSiO2溶液によりリンスすること、及びDI水を用いて更に2回リンスすることを続けた。このプロセスを行うと、基材上に単一の二重層が一度コーティングされる。このプロセスを合計7つの二重層について繰り返した。
2つのローラの間でSKYROLベルトにテンションがかけられた。第1のローラの上流のベルト上に、液体を噴霧するための噴霧器を設置した。方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を第1のローラに垂直に配置した。各実験の開始時に、ベルトを表示された速度で移動させ、水噴霧器を水の特定の流量で作動させた。エアーナイフとローラとの間の距離、方向性ガスカーテン生成要素によって生成されるガスの地面に対する角度、及び方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を通る空気の流量を、各実験の順番に変化させて、方向性エアカーテン生成要素の下流に乾燥したベルトをうまく生成する条件を決定した。乾燥は、移動するウェブにラテックス片を接触することによって決定した。湿ったウェブはラテックスにマークを残すが、乾燥したウェブはマークを残さない。「乾燥までの距離」は、ベルトが乾燥していた点までのエアーナイフから下流の距離である。第2のローラは、方向性ガスカーテン生成要素から43.2cm下流にあった。したがって、乾燥までの距離がないということは、ウェブが第2のローラに達したときにウェブがまだ湿っていることを意味する。乾燥までの距離が0であることは、ウェブが方向性ガスカーテン生成要素の下流の、測定を取り得る最も早い点にあったことを示している。
Claims (15)
- ベルトを移動させるための第1のローラと、
ベルトを移動させるための第2のローラと、
前記第1のローラ及び前記第2のローラの周囲でテンションをかけられたベルトと、
前記ベルトに面するように配置された堆積ステーションであって、
第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を前記ベルトに付着させるための第1の堆積要素と、
リンス要素と、
第2の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を前記ベルトに付着させるための第2の堆積要素と、を含む、堆積ステーションと、
前記第1の堆積要素の下流に配置されて、前記ベルト上に上流方向に吹きつけるガスカーテンを提供する、方向性ガスカーテン生成要素と、を備える装置。 - 第1のバッキング要素を更に備え、前記第1のバッキング要素は、前記ベルトの少なくとも一部分が前記バッキング要素と前記方向性ガスカーテン提供要素との間に介在するように配置される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 第2のバッキング要素を更に備え、前記第2のバッキング要素は、前記ベルトの少なくとも一部分が前記第2のバッキング要素と前記堆積ステーションとの間に介在するように配置される、請求項1又は2に記載の装置。
- 前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素及び前記第2の自己制限的単層形成材料堆積要素のうちの少なくとも1つは噴霧器である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記方向性ガスカーテン生成要素は、前記ベルトに付着されていない、液体、カチオン性材料、又はアニオン性材料を除去するのに十分な圧力を有する方向性ガスカーテンを生成する、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、前記ベルトが少なくとも0.25m/sの速度で移動している間に、カチオン性材料又はアニオン性材料の単層を前記ベルトに付着させることができる、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記ベルトは、無端ベルトである、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料は、カチオン性材料又はアニオン性材料のうちの1つだけであり、
前記第2の自己制限的単層形成材料は、カチオン性材料又はアニオン性材料のうちの1つだけであり、
前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料及び前記第2の自己制限的単層形成材料のうちの一方だけがカチオン性材料であり、他方がアニオン性材料であることを条件とする、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の装置。 - 前記装置は、少なくとも5つの堆積要素を備える、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 基材上に交互積層のコーティングを作製する方法であって、
(a)ベルトが堆積ステーションに面するように、第1のローラ及び第2のローラの周囲で前記ベルトの形態をした基材にテンションをかけることであって、
前記堆積ステーションは、
第1の自己制限的単層形成材料の少なくとも単層を前記ベルトに付着させるための第1の堆積要素を含む、ことと、
(b)前記第1の堆積要素を連動させて前記ベルト上に第1の自己制限的単層形成材料を含む第1の液体を適用しながら、最初の回転の間、前記ベルトを前記第1のローラ及び前記第2のローラの周囲で移動させることと、
(c)前記堆積ステーションの下流に配置された方向性ガスカーテン生成要素を連動させて、前記ベルトからの液体の計量と前記ベルトの乾燥を同時に行うガスカーテンを提供することと、を含む方法。 - 前記堆積ステーションは、
前記第1の堆積要素の下流に配置されたリンス要素と、
前記リンス要素の下流に配置されて第2の自己制限的単層形成材料の単層を前記ベルトに付着させるための第2の堆積要素と、を更に含み、
前記方法は、
(d)前記リンス要素を連動させることと、
(e)前記第2の堆積要素を連動させて、前記ベルト上に第2の自己制限的単層形成材料の少なくとも単層を付着させることと、を更に含む、請求項10に記載の方法。 - 所定数の単層のうちの少なくとも1つが堆積されるまで、所定の時間が経過するまで、所定の厚さが達成されるまで、又は、所定の、光学的、化学的若しくは物理的特性が達成されるまで、前記ベルトは移動を停止しない、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記装置は、少なくとも5つを含む、請求項9又は10に記載の方法。
- ステップ(a)〜(g)の各々が少なくとも更にもう1回順番に繰り返される、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料は、カチオン性材料又はアニオン性材料のうちの1つだけであり、
前記第2の自己制限的単層形成材料は、カチオン性材料又はアニオン性材料のうちの1つだけであり、
前記第1の自己制限的単層形成材料及び前記第2の自己制限的単層形成材料のうちの一方だけがカチオン性材料であり、他方がアニオン性材料であることを条件とする、請求項9〜14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
