Description

Claims (20)
- 無線クライアント装置の1つ以上の無線機における電力消費を管理する方法であって、
前記クライアント装置の物理的位置を決定する工程と、
前記クライアント装置に常駐するクライアントアプリケーションによって、前記装置の前記物理的位置を信号品質サーバに送信する工程と、
前記信号品質サーバから、第1の地理的領域内の少なくとも1つの位置に対するネットワーク品質データの指標を受信する工程であって、前記第1の地理的領域は前記装置の前記物理的位置を含む、工程と、
第2の地理的領域に対する物理的境界地域を算出する工程であって、前記第2の地理的領域は前記第1の地理的領域内に位置し、前記装置の前記物理的位置を含み、前記第2の地理的領域内の前記位置に対する受信された前記指標は、ネットワーク品質が設定された閾値よりも低いことを示す、工程と、
前記クライアント装置の1つの無線機への電力供給を減少させる工程であって、前記1つの無線機は受信された前記指標に関連付けられている、減少工程と、を備える方法。 - 前記クライアント装置の第2の物理的位置を決定する工程と、
前記第2の物理的位置が前記第2の地理的領域の外にあると判定する工程と、
前記無線機への電力供給を増大させる増大工程と、をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記減少工程は前記無線機を停止する工程を含み、前記増大工程は前記無線機への電力供給を再開する工程を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- ネットワーク品質の前記指標は、セルラ通信無線信号またはWiFi無線信号に対するものである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 設定された前記閾値はユーザによって調整可能である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記信号品質サーバに対して、ネットワーク統計値のデータベースを更新するためのネットワーク情報およびネットワーク品質情報を送信する工程、をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 無線クライアント装置の1つ以上の無線機における電力消費を管理する方法であって、
前記装置に常駐するトラベルアプリケーションによって、所望の目的地を示す指示子を受信する工程と、
前記トラベルアプリケーションによって、前記目的地に到達する意図した移動経路を決定する工程と、
信号品質サーバから、前記意図した移動経路に沿った複数の位置に対するネットワーク品質の指標を受信する工程と、
前記意図した移動経路に沿った地理的領域に対する物理的境界地域を算出する工程であって、前記地理的領域内の前記位置に対する受信された前記指標は、前記ネットワーク品質が設定された閾値未満であることを示す、工程と、
前記意図した移動経路に沿って移動しながら、前記クライアント装置の物理的位置を決定する工程と、
前記クライアント装置の前記物理的位置が前記地理的領域内にあると判定する工程と、
前記クライアント装置の1つの無線機への電力供給を減少させる工程であって、前記1つの無線機は受信された前記指標に関連付けられている、減少工程と、を備える方法。 - 前記クライアント装置の第2の物理的位置を決定する工程と、
前記第2の物理的位置が前記地理的領域の外にあると判定する工程と、
前記無線機への電力供給を増大させる増大工程と、をさらに備える、請求項7に記載の方法。 - 前記減少工程は前記無線機を停止する工程を含み、前記増大工程は前記無線機への電力供給を再開する工程を含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- ネットワーク品質の前記指標は、セルラ通信無線信号またはWiFi無線信号に対するものである、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 設定された前記閾値はユーザによって調整可能である請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記信号品質サーバに対して、ネットワーク統計値のデータベースを更新するためのネットワーク情報およびネットワーク品質情報を送信する工程、をさらに備える、請求項7に記載の方法。
- システムであって、
無線クライアント装置と、
前記クライアント装置の物理的位置を決定するための、前記クライアント装置における第1の無線手段と、
データネットワークを通じて通信を行うための、前記クライアント装置における第2の無線手段と、
物理的な地理的位置に対するネットワーク品質情報のデータベースを含む信号品質サーバと、
前記クライアント装置における前記第2の無線手段による電力消費を管理するための、前記クライアント装置に関する非一時的な記憶装置に常駐するアプリケーションと、を備え、前記アプリケーションはコンピュータ実行可能命令を有し、前記コンピュータ実行可能命令は、
前記第1の無線手段を通じて前記クライアント装置の物理的位置を決定する工程と、
前記信号品質サーバに対して、前記装置の前記物理的位置を送信する工程と、
前記信号品質サーバから、第1の地理的領域内の複数の位置に対するネットワーク品質の指標を受信する工程であって、前記第1の地理的領域は前記装置の前記物理的位置を含む、工程と、
第2の地理的領域に対する物理的境界地域を算出する工程であって、前記第2の地理的領域は前記第1の地理的領域内に位置し、前記装置の前記物理的位置を含み、前記第2の地理的領域内の前記位置に対する受信された前記指標は、前記ネットワーク品質が設定された閾値よりも低いことを示す工程と、
前記第2の無線手段への電力供給を減少させる工程であって、前記第2の無線手段は受信された前記指標に関連付けられている、減少工程と、を実行するためのものであるシステム。 - 前記アプリケーションは、
前記第1の無線手段を通じて前記クライアント装置の第2の物理的位置を決定する工程と、
前記第2の物理的位置が前記第2の地理的領域の外にあると判定する工程と、
前記第2の無線手段への電力供給を増大させる増大工程と、を実行するためのコンピュータ実行可能命令をさらに有する、請求項13に記載のシステム。 - 前記減少工程は前記無線を停止する工程を含み、前記増大工程は前記無線への電力供給を再開する工程を含む、請求項14に記載のシステム。
- ネットワーク品質の前記指標は、セルラ通信無線信号またはWiFi無線信号に対するものである、請求項13に記載のシステム。
- 設定された前記閾値はユーザによって調整可能である請求項13に記載のシステム。
- 前記クライアント装置に関する非一時的な記憶装置に常駐する第2のアプリケーションであって、意図した移動経路を決定するため第2のアプリケーションをさらに備え、
前記第2の地理的領域は前記意図した移動経路の少なくとも一部を含み、および
前記第1のアプリケーションは、
前記装置が前記意図した移動経路に沿った前記第2の地理的領域に入ったと判定すると、前記第2の無線手段への電力供給を減少させる工程、を実行するためのコンピュータ実行可能命令をさらに有する、請求項13に記載のシステム。 - 前記アプリケーションは、
前記信号品質サーバに対して、ネットワーク統計値のデータベースを更新するための、前記第2の無線手段に対するネットワーク情報およびネットワーク品質情報を送信する工程、を実行するためのコンピュータ実行可能命令をさらに有する、請求項13に記載のシステム。 - ネットワーク品質の前記指標は、セルラ通信無線信号に対する受信された信号強度指示子の測定値である請求項13に記載のシステム。
