Abstract
Description
Claims (20)
- ヒトまたは動物被験者の脳脊髄液(CSF)から物質を濾過する方法であって、
動作パラメーターセットに従って動作する濾過システムを用いて、第1流速で被験者のCSFを含む腔所よりCSFからなる液体を抜き取ることと、
前記液体を、前記濾過システムの接線流フィルターを用いて通過液と残留液とに濾過することと、
残留液に対する通過液の比率からなる前記液体の特性を、前記濾過システムの検出器を用いて測定することと、
前記通過液を、第2流速で前記被験者のCSFを含む腔所に戻すことと、
測定した前記特性が予め定めた閾値を超えたとの判断に応答して、測定した前記特性に基づいて前記動作パラメーターセットのパラメーターを更新することとからなり、
前記パラメーターを更新することは、前記第1流速と前記第2流速とを上昇させる方法。 - 前記濾過システムは、前記腔所の内部に少なくとも部分的に挿入された複数の管腔を有するカテーテルを介して前記被験者のCSFを含む腔所と流体接続状態にある、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記パラメーターは、前記第1流速と前記第2流速とからなる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記動作パラメーターセットのパラメーターを更新することは、前記第1流速と前記第2流速とを同一にする、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記濾過システムの第2検出器を用いて、前記液体の第2特性を測定することをさらに含み、前記第2特性は、抜き取られた液体の総量から戻された液体の総量を引いたものである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2特性が、第2閾値を超えたか否かを判断することをさらに含み、前記第2閾値は、脊髄性頭痛を誘導することが予測される抜き取られたCSFの量である、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記第2特性が前記第2閾値を超えたとの判断に応答して第2パラメーターを更新することをさらに含み、前記第2パラメーターは流速パラメーターからなり、前記第2パラメーターを更新することは、前記第1流速と前記第2流速とを低下させる、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記被験者は、ヒト被験者であり、かつ脊髄性頭痛を誘導することが予測される前記抜き取られたCSFの量は、1時間あたり35ミリリットルと1時間あたり45ミリリットルの間である、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記CSFを含む腔所から抜き取られる液体の速度は、分速0.04ミリリットルから分速30ミリリットルの間である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記濾過システムの第2検出器を用いて残留液の絶対流速である前記液体の第2特性を測定することと、
前記第2特性が、残留液の許容可能な流速範囲である第2閾値を超えたか否かを判断することと、
前記残留液の絶対流速を前記残留液の許容可能な流速範囲に戻すために前記動作パラメーターセットの第2パラメーターを更新することと、
をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記通過液を戻す前に前記通過液に治療薬を添加することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記通過液を戻す前に前記通過液に人工CSFを追加することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第1動作パラメーターセットに従って動作する第1濾過システムを用いて、第1流速で被験者のCSFを含む腔所からCSFからなる液体を抜き取ることと、
前記液体を、前記第1濾過システムの第1接線流フィルターを用いて第1通過液と第1残留液とに濾過することと、
前記第1残留液を、前記第1濾過システムと流体接続状態にあり且つ第2動作パラメーターセットに従って動作する第2濾過システムに通すことと、
前記第1残留液を、前記第2濾過システムの第2接線流フィルターを用いて第2通過液と第2残留液とに濾過することと、
混合通過液を形成する為に、前記第1通過液と前記第2通過液とを結合器を用いて混合することと、
残留液に対する通過液の比率からなる前記液体の特性を、検出器を用いて測定することと、
前記混合通過液を、第2流速で前記被験者のCSFを含む腔所に戻すことと、
測定した前記特性が予め定めた閾値を超えたとの判断に応答して測定した前記特性に基づいて前記第1動作パラメーターセットと前記第2動作パラメーターセットのうちの少なくとも1つのパラメーターを更新すること
とからなり、
前記パラメーターを変更することは、前記第1流速と前記第2流速とを上昇させるCSFを濾過する為の方法。 - 前記第1残留液を第2濾過システムに通すことは、前記残留液を前記第2残留液の流量特性を制御する流量調整器に通すことをさらに含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記結合器は、前記被験者のCSFを含む腔所への前記混合通過液の返送を制御する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記第1流速と前記第2流速とは、同一である、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 複数の管腔を有し第1ポートと第2ポートとを備えるカテーテルを被験者の脳脊髄液(CSF)を含む腔所に挿入することと、
前記CSFを含む腔所からCSFからなる液体を前記第1ポートから抜き取り流速で抜き取ることと、
前記液体を圧力と濾過流速とで濾過システムの接線流フィルターに通すことによって前記液体を通過液と残留液とに濾過することと、
前記通過液を前記第2ポートから戻し流速で前記被験者のCSFを含む腔所に戻すことと、
残留液に対する通過液の比率が上昇したとの判断に応答して前記抜き取り流速と前記戻し流速とを上昇させることと、
からなる、ヒトまたは動物被験者のCSFを濾過する為の方法。 - 前記方法は、残留液に対する通過液の前記比率が上昇したとの判断に応答して、前記圧力と前記濾過流速のうちの少なくともいずれか一方を上昇させる、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記圧力と前記濾過流速の両方は、残留液に対する通過液の前記比率が上昇したとの判断に応答して上昇される、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記抜き取り流速と前記戻し流速とは、同一である、請求項17に記載の方法。
