Abstract
Description
バルーンカテーテルは、心内膜アブレーション及び解剖マッピングのような侵襲性手技を行うような構成であってもよい。心内膜アブレーションを実施している間、バルーンカテーテルは、典型的には、ポイントバイポイントアブレーションを行う従来の1個のチップカテーテルよりも大きな組織の領域をアブレーションすることができる。さらに、バルーンカテーテルは、一度に大きな組織の領域をアブレーションすることができ、手技時間が短くなり、手技中の蛍光透視法の使用に関連する放射線曝露が減る。
図1は、医療用プローブ22と制御コンソール24とを具備する医療システム20の模式的な図による説明であり、図2は、本発明の一実施形態に係る、医療用プローブの遠位端26の模式的な図による説明である。システム20は、例えば、Biosense Webster Inc.(ダイヤモンドバー、カリフォルニア、米国)によって製造されたCARTO(登録商標)システムに基づいていてもよい。本明細書で以下に記載される複数の実施形態において、プローブ22は、診断又は治療といった処置に使用される、例えば、電位をマッピングし、及び/又は患者30の心臓28においてアブレーション手技を行うためのバルーンカテーテルを具備している。また、プローブ22は、必要な変更を加えることで心臓又は他の体内の臓器において他の治療及び/又は診断目的で使用することもできる。
(1) 体腔に挿入するような構成の遠位端を有し、前記遠位端を通って開口する内腔を有するプローブと、
外壁を有する、前記内腔を通って前記体腔に配置することができる拡張可能なバルーンと、
前記拡張可能なバルーンの前記外壁に接続する第一側面と、前記第一側面に対向する第二側面とを有する、フレキシブル印刷回路基板と、
前記フレキシブル印刷回路基板の前記第一側面に取り付けられ、前記バルーンの前記外壁と前記フレキシブル印刷回路基板との間に封入された超音波振動子とを具備する、医療器具。
(2) 前記超音波振動子が圧電セラミック結晶を含む、実施態様1に記載の医療器具。
(3) 前記超音波振動子が、振幅モードで操作されるような構成である、実施態様1に記載の医療器具。
(4) 前記超音波振動子が、前記超音波振動子と前記体腔中の組織との間の距離を決定するために、1メガヘルツ〜10メガヘルツのシグナルを生成するような構成である、実施態様1に記載の医療器具。
(5) 前記フレキシブル回路基板の前記第二側面に取り付けられ、位置センサとして構成された電極を具備する、実施態様1に記載の医療器具。
(7) 前記体腔が、心臓の心室腔を含む、実施態様6に記載の医療器具。
(8) 前記超音波振動子が、前記フレキシブル回路基板の前記第二側面と接触する組織の厚みを決定するために、20メガヘルツより大きなシグナルを生成するような構成である、実施態様1に記載の医療器具。
(9) 体腔に挿入するような構成の遠位端を有し、前記遠位端を通って開口する内腔を有するプローブを与えることと、
前記内腔を通って前記体腔に配置することができる、外壁を有する拡張可能なバルーンを与えることと、
フレキシブル印刷回路基板の第一側面を前記拡張可能なバルーンの前記外壁に接続することであって、前記フレキシブル回路基板が前記第一側面に対向する第二側面を有する、ことと、
前記フレキシブル印刷回路基板の前記第一側面に超音波振動子を取り付け、それによって、前記バルーンの前記外壁と前記フレキシブル印刷回路基板との間に前記超音波振動子を封入することとを含む、方法。
(10) 前記超音波振動子が圧電セラミック結晶を含む、実施態様9に記載の方法。

- 前記超音波振動子と前記体腔中の組織との間の距離と、前記電極からのシグナルと、に基づき、前記体腔のマップを生成するような構成のプロセッサを具備している、請求項5に記載の医療器具。
- 前記体腔が、心臓の心室腔を含む、請求項6に記載の医療器具。
- 前記超音波振動子が、前記フレキシブル回路基板の前記第二側面と接触する組織の厚みを決定するために、20メガヘルツより大きなシグナルを生成するような構成である、請求項1に記載の医療器具。
